A responsive dog watching place! Im not a local and went to Disneyland for a day, and dropped my dog off for 2 nights. they watched her and sent 4 pics/video total throughout her stay. I’m pleased she had a safe place to stay at was able to see how she was doing. Will bring her here again if I go to Disneyland!

My daughter and I both have friendly, high energy dogs that we've left at Barking lodge a couple times now. They have both been happy to return, which means a lot to me. Friendly staff, easy booking.

I feel very lied to. This business claims it’s a clean facility all dogs must have vaccinations to join no? Well my brother had gone in to pick his dog up and heard a worker say that even if the dogs don’t have the vaccinations up to date they still let them in which is one reason why apparently a previous dog that had been there got kennel cough. And that another dog in there currently was missing the vaccination for it. I was very shocked to hear because my brother has been going there for a good time now and now he refuses to bring his dog back there after hearing the workers talking about this this morning. Very disappointed.

What a wonderful place for my dogs to play and relax while socializing. The owner is very attentive watching them 24/7 and sending you updates and pictures. They have a sweet caring staff who will cuddle and snuggle with doggie if necessary.

I took my 4 month old Rottweiler puppy here for no more than 3 hrs. My mom picked her up and she immediately noticed that she was sad. I called at 12:30 and a nice woman answered expressing concern, but explained that maybe she is tired. She told me to call her back in a few hrs if her behavior has not changed, and said she would review the tapes to see if anything happened. I was working so I did not personally see my dog until I got home. I get home and she did not greet me with her usual friendly demeanor. Turns out she did the same with my siblings, and my dad. She still has sad puppy dog eyes, walks around with her head down, and is now scared of everything. My brother ran past her out in our backyard and she was all hunched over, with her tail tucked. She is a puppy so she always has so much energy to play with us. Since she came back she only wants to lay down and chew on one of her toys. Not wanting to run around and play with us. I called back again and I spoke to this guy who was incredibly rude, and completely dismissed all of my concerns. He said that she is just sad that she is not there so to bring her back tomorrow. I will not be bringing my dog back tomorrow because she is a puppy. She has not demonstrated her puppy attitude with us for the remainder of this day. I am not sure what happened there but what ever did happen seems to have traumatized my puppy.

The owner seems to understand my Jack Russell's personality and treats him with special attention. Thank you folks for taking the time to understand Rocket.

I drop my 7 month year old German Shepherd puppy off while I work in downtown. Every morning he is so excited to go, he drags me to the front door of Barking Lodge when we get out of the car!! And this is a puppy that can't stand my bedroom door being shut between us! They obviously treat him very well and I can work knowing he is playing with his friends all day.

My experience with Barking Lodge happened a few months ago. My fiancé and I adopted a one year old Husky and she had some crate anxiety. We realized she will need to go to daycare until we've gotten her training to get her acclimated to her crate. I looked on Yelp and I trusted the reviews. When I arrived to schedule her assessment they advised me that she can be there for the entire day if I drop her off in the morning for her temperament test and she passes; first day was free. The owner, Bijan, was kind. He showed me the facilities, all while bragging about himself and bashing the closest competitors, mainly Camp Bow Wow. I dropped Maple for daycare and her temperament test the next day. They had spoken very highly of their groomer so I booked a bath as well. I told the staff that Maple will need to be dried very thoroughly as she is a Husky and has an undercoat. The staff member told me she would be well cared for. Barking Lodge does not have cameras. This made me nervous but I was assured that the staff would send me pictures and updates via text. Around noon I called, since she was dropped at 7:30am and I had received no update. In response I was sent a video of another persons dog even though I had specifically asked about my dog by name and gave my name as well. I figured it was an honest mistake, not knowing it would be the first of many mistakes. I got a call from Bijan that afternoon saying Maple had gotten her bath and asking if I mind if she goes back to play with the other dogs as she may get a little dirty, otherwise he will put her in a kennel to keep her spotless. I said she can "ABSOLUTELY go back and play! Please do not put her in a kennel to dry, she does not do well being alone." That was about 3 hours before I was able to pick her up. When I arrived after work to get Maple she was traumatized. She ran to me and buried her face in my lap and immediately started pulling toward the door. She was crying like I had never heard. She would not go anywhere near Bijan, and he had no concern at all for Maples frantic behavior. I asked if the dogs were always this stressed after their first day, and Bijan said "I don't know, your dog is a crybaby, we didn't do anything to your dog." At that point I became very concerned with what had happened to my dog at this facility that has NO SURVEILLANCE to check on your dog, where I had been sent a video of the WRONG DOG. I asked him why she was still damp. He said she did not like the cage dryer and that he put her in a kennel to air dry after her bath. What?? He called and asked me about whether or not she could go play and I said YES. I reminded him and he said he didn't want her to get dirty. I said I told him on the phone that I did not mind if she got dirty as long as she wasn't in a kennel. He got angry and walked to the door, held it open and then YELLED at me, "LEAVE, GET OUT. I DO NOT WANT YOU TO PAY I WANT YOU TO LEAVE." I was shocked. I left because I felt unsafe alone with this unhinged and angry large older man. After I left, Bijan called my fiancé, whose phone number was on file as Maples emergency contact, and left a voicemail saying I was rude to him and refused to pay him. He lied. The next day I went back, without Maple (she was at Camp Bow Wow, I recommend them very highly) and I spoke to the co-owner Bijans' wife and told her I wanted to pay and I wanted all of my information off of their records. She asked why and I told her I felt unsafe having my phone number and address on file where Bijan had access to it. She then said her husband told her what happened but she wanted to hear my side. I told her the whole story. She was very sweet and apologetic. She offered to not charge me, I refused, she then gave me a small discount since I insisted on paying. I would NEVER recommend that anyone leave their dogs with someone like Bijan. Maple was in a kennel, alone and wet and cold for HOURS without me being notified. My heart breaks thinking about how she must have felt like she was back at the shelter.

Poor service from the minute the man answered the phone! All I did was ask who I was speaking with, and he got pretty bent out of shape and demanded my name, to which I provided, when I asked who I speaking to, he asked why, I told him I was seeking information on their services, told him was a potential new client and his response was very abrasive and asked "what kind of services do you want information on", so I told him, that it didn't matter anymore, he was not very friendly and I would not consider brining my pet there. Guess he failed to realize that to some of us our pets are like our children and we dont just leave them with strangers! Next time someone asks for your your name, the least you can do is provide it, but Im glad they showed me they are not a very friendly place to bring your per to right from the start. Would have hated to have boarded my pup for a weeks and find out he was not in a good place while I was gone.

Left my dog with them for a work while I was on vacation. Paid $300 for a week of boarding and a bath. I was a little early picking my dog up and they did not have time to give her a bath, which is fine. However, when I got her home I noticed she had dog poo smeared on her neck. It's hard and caked into her fur and has clearly been there for some time. I called and asked what happened and was told it must be from her playing with other dogs. Their idea of customer service is basically, "oh well, not our fault." I'm not sure why poo isn't cleaned up from play areas and I don't see how her getting poo on her from playing with other dogs goes unnoticed. This speaks volumes about the dogs not being properly taken care of or supervised. I'm incredibly disappointed by this experience and would absolutely not recommend them to anybody.

My corgi has been coming here since she was a puppy and the owners take perfect care of her. They treat the dogs like their own and gives quality care and attention. I’ve been to several daycares and most just jam pack as many dogs as they can in small spaces, but not barking lodge. Open spaces with plenty of room to run and play. Very nice people that just wants to provide the best for you. They’re essentially like family to my corgi. Whenever I leave her for boarding I know she is in good hands and as a worrisome dog mom, this is all I hope for in a doggy daycare. She always leaves with the big smile and I couldn’t be happier. I highly highly recommend them!!

Glad I found this place. Was having a hard time finding a place that took my dog, he is a pitbull mix. They took him in and treated him just like any dog. He doesn't get well with other dog but they made arrangements where he had his own big area to run around. Thanks again barking lodge! We will see you soon!

A family owned business with people who are obviously passionate about pet care. I can't recommend highly enough. Their day-care area for the dogs is clean and well put together - the kennels are safe and sturdy. I'm so glad to have found a place for grooming/boarding my dog Piper. The owners spent a TON of time with her grooming because she's a retired race-dog and super sensitive being handled. Thank you so much, I can't wait to come back! 5-Stars!

My dog Zion loves going here! Whenever he notices that are are driving in, he gets super excited, and he's we extremely tired after picking him up (a tired dog is a happy dog!). The staff are very friendly and really care a lot about the dogs.

I just had my Dog Scruffy come here this past weekend as I was going out of town for two nights. I absolutely loved this place. The staff was extremely friendly and my dog took to them instantly. They have a very large open area where all the dogs can play together which he loved. The pricing was very affordable as well. Definitely will be my go to place for my little Scruffy when I need to go out of town!

Bijan and his team were so gracious and accommodating. They took great care of our three pups over the Thanksgiving holiday. No price hikes, just great service. It's clear he is passionate about what he does. Thanks, Bijan!!
