Our dogs had been escalating in aggression including fights that landed them in need of vet attention. Joe was able to help us get them under control and on their way to good behavior.

Joe was awesome! He was very insightful about the way dogs think and very informative on how we should treat, think, and train our dogs. He showed us a very reliable and ethical way of properly training our fur babies. Thank you so much Joe!

I so appreciate the time Joe took with Cassie and working to de-stress her.....his ability to bring her into a state of calm from such a level of anxiety that has escalated in her being from various things that have caused fear. As Cassie began to respond, he would praise her for her responding to his directions. His level of understanding of her was awesome....his heart to help and walk her through the intense level shows his love for these dogs. I'm so grateful for his expertise to help her be the dog free from the anxiety and fears in her being. Joe, Thank you so much! Very grateful in your giving us pointers in how we can continue the training!! Thanks, also for making yourself available to help if we might need to call and ask questions!!

Absolutely the most amazing dog trainer- patient, great energy, and most importantly, gave us tools that WORKED in just one session. We feel like we have a whole other dog than the one we rescued, one that understands us and one we can communicate with (all without treats and negativity). Just a few examples of what our 15 week old can do now after our session- sit, lay down, stop/stay, no more barking at the fence, no pulling on walks or barking at animals and people on walks, heel, play appropriately, go to his bed and stay. He really helped us understand the mind of a dog which really is key. Love this guy. Absolute must for any new dog owner!

Joe was really great he came in and help me with my pugnacious pug. My dog doesn’t listen but I see a big difference so far my dog is finally listening to my commands thanks to Joes tips and training.

Joe was very patient with my dog Beth who has severe anxiety and a very high stress level. He had good techniques and methods to get my dog to calm down in ways she has never before. It’s been extremely hard for me to get my dog to go to the vet or even walks because she fears collars and leashes. Joe was able to put a slip leash on her and actually got Beth to do small walks in my house and outside. That was HUGE and such a big step for Beth. It’s going to take baby steps but with daily training, she’ll get there and I can’t wait for that day to come. Thanks again Joe.

Joe was amazing! We just got finished with his essential plan just a few hours ago and our dogs are already listening better. We still have a ways to go but he set us up with all the foundation and knowledge to succeed with our dogs!!!

My boyfriend and I had the best experience with Joe! Our little pup is a ball of energy who barks, bites and hates walking on a leash. Within three hours she became more attentive, obedient and learned to love walks! Joe was very patient, easy going and very reassuring. He gave us great understanding and knowledge about our breed and how best to work with her. We love that he doesn’t encourage training with treats and teaches us the patience that it takes to properly train our dog.

Today was a great experience with our dogs. Joe was extremely personable and made everything very clear in terms of what different movements or cues we needed to make as well as helping us understanding more about our pups. I know in the future if we feel like we need more training or education for ourselves we will definitely be contacting him again!

You are an amazing trainer. I could never have guessed we could learn so much in such a short time. You gave us good tools and now we feel in control of our dog. Thank you I definitely would recommend and use you again.

Joe really helped us train our two dogs, Benji and Luna. He gave us so many useful techniques that we have been implementing into our daily lives and they have made such a difference on our pups in just a few days! They were having trouble with walking and just obedience overall. The main thing was Benji interacting with our guests, he had recently bit a guest in our home and with Joe's techniques he is doing so much better! Our family loved the training and we definitely would recommend him!

Very good trainer. Very patient. Has really good methods. Regardless of how aggressive your dog is he will calm them down and learn to walk with them CONS - for why i took 1 star. 1. Hes very military drill Sargent with you during training. Which is fine because he wants you to do the right way, but if you are introverted like i am its very uncomfortable and makes me personally nervous. 2. This is me personally but it goes hand to hand with my first point is that because he can be very intimidating on his teaching he doesn’t leave time to ask questions or ask what specific issues you yourself is having. This can be solved again by just speaking up and pointing out what your needing, but again hes very heavy handed on his teaching and go go go, i felt too intimidated or uncomfortable of asking questions in fear of being looked dumb because he gives off the impression that i should know by now from watching him for abit. I shall followup definitely in hopes my progress will improve. Joe was my last hope or else i may have to give my dog up. Thank you so much.

Today was a great day in my dog world because of Joe! He spent three hours working with my Scottie trio! I was REALLY apprehensive that my male Scottie would bite him because even the groomer can’t get near him therefore he has a mullet. Joe spent time working with them and teaching me how to work with them. It was amazing how fast he got them to calm down, follow commands and taught me how to implement them. Thank you Joe!!

Joe is currently working with us on our 4th rescued dog. He simply works wonders with the animals we have used him for training. Regardless of the level of disfunction in the animal, Joe always finds a way in to calmly communicate and get them to join our pack. I would recommend him highly as a dog trainer or a “people” trainer for new dog owners

Joe was very responsive to my request for help with my dog. He was able to bond with my dog and give us both the help we needed. I would recommend him without hesitation.

My family and I had a great experience with Joe at Way of the Dog. He helped us with techniques to help calm our very excitable German shepherd puppy down. Joe was really helpful at explaining why he uses certain techniques in relation to how our puppy relates to her environment. Thanks again Joe for all of your help with our giant puppy.

Joe is a dog whisperer. He had our 10 wk old lab sitting and walking on a loose leash at the end of our training, which is not a small accomplishment. We continue what we’ve learned with positive results.

We have a problem dog. Joe had him for ten hours. Our dog Kody was very responsive to him. We still need a little more training, but he made a big difference to Kody. …

Joe certainly knows how to quickly and effectively control a dog’s attention. I have a golden mix and a german shepherd mix that are super friendly, but a bit stubborn when outside. Joe’s patience and training exercises definitely helped me learn more about dogs and how to handle them on and off a leash. The training is pretty open-ended and tailored to what ever you want to work on. Whether that is inside, kennel, outside, or basic commands, Joe will help and guide you to improve as a dog owner. I have definitely seen a difference these past couple months after just one 3 hour training session. It is worth it!

Joe is amazing!!! He really helps you understand the way your dog thinks and why it acts a certain way. I have 2 boys whose protective nature of me was getting out of hand. Any man who crossed our path was not safe from their barking and it made me too uncomfortable and embarrassed to walk them outside. But Joe really helped me understand that I needed to work on my role as the pack leader and demonstrate that I didn't need my dogs to protect me from everyone. I've been using his "sit, stop, and walk" method since our first session in January and I'm happy to say that it's starting to pay off! I look forward to working with him again as I prepare myself and my boys for the big, busy city of LA.

I had an 3 hours with Joe. It only last us 40 minutes because he’s scared of her due to her being aggressive forwarding him. He haven’t teach me on how to train my dog. Before we meet up, he told me he have worked with German Shepherd dogs and know the issues they have in common. All he talk about his opinions on my dog and his experience with dogs. Give up all of a sudden and told you your dog wouldn’t be successful in 40 minutes? I wouldn’t recommend him to owners for overly aggressive dogs.

First off I would recommend Joe to anyone having any issue with a dog. Before him coming my dog was pulling, always alert, never calm, and never listened. Within the 3 hours even though my dog was being a little stubborn we got somewhere that just had her in a better state of mind. We walk a lot better, way more calm around the house and just can tell she is a lot happier. I can’t imagine my money going anywhere else. Thank you Joe
