Expensive. Had an appt and ended up having to wait an hour in the parking lot.

Dr Bruno was our vet for many years before we moved away 9 years ago. A few months ago we moved back to the bay area, to San Mateo. We started using a vet nearby but when our dog had a serious flare up of his inflammatory bowel disease they didn't seem to be able to get it under control, and in fact he was getting worse with changes they made to his medications. We decided driving him across the bay to see Dr Bruno was our best option. And it was! He is completely back to normal a week later. We provided Dr Bruno with his records from the San Mateo vet and found out they had not even told us all the findings in tests they'd run on him. I can't recommend Central Vet and Dr Bruno highly enough! We will never take our little guy anywhere else again!

We have been taking our dogs and cats to Central Vet for over 30 years now. I would give this place ten stars if I could. I’ve always felt confident that our pets were getting the best of care.

I called about a rabies shot for my 18 month old puppy. They said they had to do a $60 exam before they would even consider a rabies shot. I told them there’s nothing wrong with my dog, so why would I pay for an exam? Looks like they care more about making money than taking care of dogs and they lost the chance to gain a client. Oh well, it seems I dodged a bullet based on how many bad reviews I see for this place.

Dr. Dunlap and Dr. J are just the best! They have such amazing bedside manner and I love they way their compassion and knowledge cone out in everything they do! I live in Manteca and still take my dog their. I won't take them anywhere else. And the customer service from everyone that runs the front, especially Alex is top notch!

Don’t come here if you are a new customer. It was a pretty long-waiting list, at least two weeks, whereas other vets could always get you within a week. On the top of it, I finally made a 700am morning appointment 2-weeks ago for my cat’s ringworm (the situation has become severe day by day because of the long waiting), the receptionist says she doesn’t see any of my appointment regardless of how miserable my cat is. I decided to still go with them because I was deceived by their 4.5 star review, now I will never come back.

4/5 ⭐ Staff is professional and compassionate, the doctor we saw was wonderful...she and my dog, Maggie, became instant friends even after getting a thermometer stuck in her bum and that's saying something because nobody likes that! 4-star rating only because we had to wait longer than I thought was acceptable, which I can't really hold against them because everything takes longer these days because...Covid! Overall...great experience for dog and human. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for all you do for the furbabes!

Expect long long wait times not only to speak to a live person, but to check in your pet, & then expect to wait for pet to be seen. In general expect to wait becuz then Double/ Triple book appts. then claim longer wait times are due to covid! No it due to poor time Mgt & OVER BOOKING!!!

This place is great, but getting an appointment is challenging. They have also stopped weekend appointments, which is a negative change when appts are so hard to get.

They are the most compassionate veterinarian pet hospital we have ever used. They have the best vet techs. It is always clean, they are on top of all your pets info, and they follow all the Covid protocols. We have been going there for over 15 years.

Have been with Central for years with my previous Golden Retriever and now my newly adopted Golden. Due to COVID-19 situation, the staff comes outside to get the pets and the doctor calls the owner to talk about the office exam or what not. Things might be taking a bit longer than usual as the staff has to come in and out for pets and stuff but they are doing their best and still providing excellent services. Always love Dr. Bruno!

I was very impressed how the process of checking in you pet was. The vet assistant was very pleasant.

My family and I have been without a vet since we left the dreadful Tri City Animal Hospital on Fremont Boulevard. Fast forward to Sunday evening when we returned from a trip and found our beloved 13.5 year old cat completely out of sorts. It was like the life was sucked out of him. We knew it was time. After spending the night with him giving him love, I took him to Central Vet Hospital at opening on Monday. Immediately I was greeted with compassion and understanding, as I walked in red-eyed and carrying my little buddy. They immediately put us in our own room, handled payment with care and understanding, and the Vet took care of putting my little guy down for his Forever Nap. I cannot overstate how thoughtful and caring all of the staff was. This was a moment I wasn't prepared for emotionally and they accommodated a blubbering emotional mess with aplomb. I will never go to another Vet, and highly recommend Central Vet Hospital to anyone with any pets, but especially those with an elderly pet. Not even a week later, they sent my family a sympathy card with paw prints of my guy. Wow. I'm awestruck and tearing up as I reflect. In this day and age, it's easy to think that all of the compassion has been sucked out of society; Central Vet Hospital reminded me that there are fundamentally caring people out there.
