I brought my cat, Twix, in because she wasn't eating and had lost a lot of weight. They took her in very quickly and the night doctor, Dr. Lynn, explained the tests they be running and when I could expect a followup. As more diagnostics and procedures were needed, she talked me through what they were for and why they were necessary. She kept me informed and involved at every step. When she broke the news that Twix has FeLV (likely contracted before I rescued her 4 years ago) and explained that she has a tumor in her chest, she was very caring and compassionate. She talked me through what this meant as far as end of life preparations. I was able to pick Twix up the next day to take her home and care for her until it's time, and I am planning to return to Beacon when the time comes. Thank you, Dr. Lynn and Dr. Portela for your compassionate and clear explanations. As I said, I don't know how you do your job; you are angels.

This place is very very professional I showed up for my appointment with my little doggie that had a little eye problem and give him a call they came out my mom went in with my dog cuz he only that one person in because of the covid-19 which is fine and when my mom came out she said she was very impressed by the attentiveness of the doctors didn't take my dog into the back room they did everything right there in front of my mom and they're very knowledgeable and very smart and we're hoping that we can treat the problem that my dog was having with low tearing in one eye. So over all very pleased with the visit with the specialist would highly recommend to anybody that needs a eye specialist for their doggie hope this helps thank you very much Beacon Veterinary

Dr Fitch, Ashley, Amy ,Sandy, all the surgery nurses and front desk staff our professional, patient, kind. This matters so much to an anxious dog owner! Plus their expertise and knowledge are immensely comforting. My dog Patrick had a TPLO surgery Dr. Fitch and subsequent rehab with Amy and Sandy. I could not be more satisfied and thankful for their care! I highly recommend them!

When I called to tell them I needed to bring my dog in, the person who answered the phone told me to go to San Leandro emergency because it would be closer.(it’s not) How do you know what would be closer when you have no idea where I’m coming from? She begrudgingly told me to come and fill out the online form before I came. I understand that people have long days at work, but to come across so cold on the phone when I’m on the verge of tears worried about my dog made the situation worse when I was calling for help. Will not be back.

This will be the last time we take our dog here. I understand that it is stressful to have lots of animals that need care but the lady who spoke to my mom was very unprofessional and doesn’t show empathy. The vet tech told my mother that she had to sit outside in the cold for 6-8 hours. She was not kind to my mother in regards to how her dog was doing. And when she took our dog home the lady told her her dog is not socialized with people or other animals. Our dog has the sweetest temperament and was stressed out and not feeling well. As a vet tech you should know how to handle animals under stress. It seemed like the lady didn’t like her job or know how to handle animals. The management at this office should teach the vet techs on how to show empathy and be polite to customers who are stressed because their fur baby aren’t doing well.

They saved our dog Shiba from a double rattlesnake bite to the head. Highly recommend Beacon for critical emergencies. They are also the only emergency vet around that stocks rattlesnake anti-venom in-house.

We found ourselves in the position of having a dog who needed a surgically implanted pin removed. The pin was implanted by a good vet, but his clinical support staff was unbelievably horrible and we did not care to give them any more of our money. We have been quite happy with Beacon for their care of our other dog, who has epilepsy, so we called them for the pin removal even though we live in Livermore. Dr. Fitch and staff were awesome and the procedure was done while we waited (the other vet was going to charge us for an overnight stay). We received a lot of information, and our girl was treated with kindness and reassurance. Absolutely a five star experience.

You an injured feral kitten here today and they took it with no hesitation. They were so nice and I feel confident that they will do their best to give these animals the care they need.

My dog got sprayed by a skunk. They came to the car late at night to check in her for free.

I caught my cat swallowing part of the ear loop from a surgical mask just a moment too late after it was already gone. I called Beacon, and they said I could bring him by and they would see him right away while we still had a chance to retrieve it. I rushed him over, they took him right away, they were able to successfully induce vomiting (which isn't easy in cats), and out came the piece of string that he ate. I am so incredibly thankful and relieved, especially knowing how dangerous linear foreign bodies can be. The staff treated my cat with urgency and compassion, and they were genuinely happy and relieved that the string was out and a crisis was averted. They were very kind and even brought me some cold water since it was hot waiting outside and I was visibly upset. I would trust them with my cat again in an emergency (hopefully I won't need to!). Thank you to everyone who took care of Freddy tonight!

2hr just to wait for the paperwork to fill out its 84° its hotter even in the sun this is ridiculous. How can you be a ER vet for so many years and not know what a pet has but you know to charge thousands of dollars and say that's all to cover what my sisters pet mite need why not charge step by step for every procedure that is needed you say you care about the animals but all you care about really is the money it does not take a whole day to do your job and know exactly what is wrong

This Place is crazy they want your money more than helping your pets. We went there because our pup had an accident and needed a help and ended up needing a surgery. They’re asking 9500 for surgery and they want 8800 down payment plus the 900+ xray/consultation fee. They were fixated on us doing the surgery right away and low key scaring us on what will happen with our dog. ???? we call different hospital for our puppy they give us very good amount and reasonable price witch is 5000 we save almost half there asking. Make sure you read the statement as there are unnecessary charges they add there and will take advantage of you when you’re on the low/panicking.

WARNING!! Please do not leave your beloved pet with this vet! My dog of 12 years "Chase" passed on June 22, 2021 and we handed him over to Beacon for cremation. It has been almost 2 months and my dog has not been returned to me still. The vet nor the cremation company that Beacon used - SACRAMENTO REGENCY, don't know when my dog will be returned. They keep on giving a run around and false date information. Our pets are family and deserve dignity in their lives as well as their death. Unfortunately places like these are no more than a money making endeavor for the owners. Shame! It breaks my heart and i am hoping my review will save other people the heart ache and frustration I have gone through.

This office is full of the most caring and compassionate people. I cannot thank them enough for the end of life care we suddenly were facing for our dog. They were knowledgeable and so supportive. When we are ever ready for another pet, they will be our go to.

Dropped off our dog for an appointment at 7:45am. Was told afternoon pick-up. Was subsequently told delay due to critical case (understandable). Called back in the early evening and was told would be able to pick-up "sometime" and before could ask any more questions was hung up on after they heard me start to ask a question. This is the kind of service that makes me never go here again.

My little man of 9 years has cancer. Its not the worst, but we've been struggling with it for two years. I started with a vet that missed some very important things. The next vet, who I still have been meaning to write a review for is Uni Pet clinic in Union City. Dr. Han Kang, DVM; I love them. They sent me to Beacon when they expertly realized that the tumors had grown too large in the time it has taken me to gather the resources. There was no judgement, just 'this is beyond me.' I'm ever so glad he did. Dr. Randall B. Fitch, DVM is the best damn vet I've seen since leaving my family's cattle ranch for green pastures in my life. Seriously, I trust his opinion. His staff (thank you again Devon) is also confident and professional. I'll be back, I hope. Thank you for the hope Beacon. Vance Gene Phoenix

I am beyond grateful for the heartwarming approach all staff members exemplified when I took my 19 year old cat for euthanasia. I was an absolute wreck and these folks were a 'beacon' of empathy and understanding during the entire process. Not only will I remember my precious kitty for the rest of my life, I'll also remember how kind hearted the employees at this vet were that made the process much easier on my soul. Thank you for being absolutely beautiful individuals.
