These doctors are experts and really know what they're doing! I've had experiences with them twice, about 15 years apart , and they always nip it right in the bud the first time. Thank you so much ????

We’ve had 2 experiences with this place and both have been good and were able to resolve an eye injury without surgery. The staff is friendly and seemed very knowledgeable.

The goal of Animal Eye Care is crystal clear: to make as much money as possible. Animal welfare comes second, and customer service limps in at a distinct third. I came to this conclusion after a visit with long conversations with the vet, vet tech, many receptionists and, finally, the manager. * Did I pay the $330 to make and hold an appointment? Yes. I love my cat and want her to get the help she needs. But follow ups, I was told during my appointment, are $200. Oh, and medication is not included, which wouldn’t be such an issue if the price for an appointment wasn’t so high. During the visit I was sent a text that reads like a hostage note, along the lines of, “Pay us $187 NOW for medication before we give you your cat back.” * When I protested to the vet tech, she attacked me on a personal level. She really laid into me, including calling me out on the disability I’ve had since birth. * What did I walk away with? An envelope, about 12 pieces of paper, no medication or help for my kitty, and a bad taste in my mouth. All that for the low, low cost of $330. I am certain the owners of this business have a GREAT house. In other words, these people are pirates. Avoid them at all costs.

Great Veterinarian saw our dog. She was terminal, the doctor had compassion and our dog had a final few weeks of peace and love before she passed. Our other dog has an implant eye after surgery for glaucoma, doing great after 6 years! He doesn't even notice that he only has one good eye! They are the best!

Great service and reasonable prices. They clearly and thoroughly explained our dogs issues and did their very best to accommodate us quickly. Excellent covid safety process! My only complaint would be that they do not allow online pharmacies for filling prescriptions. *EDIT* - Animal Eye Care has contacted me to let me know that they do fill prescriptions though online pharmacies and that it was a miscommunication that has been corrected. I'm very happy to hear that and also pleased how quickly and professionally they replied to my review. I would highly recommend their services.

They took excellent care of my little guy, he tore his corona and with all the care and meds he recovered his sight fully!! Expensive but we'll worth it.

Great specialist care. They see exotic animals which is a relief as it's hard to find care for exotics. You have to plan a bit in advance as they can get booked up fast and if your pet has immediate eye issues, see your primary vet for medicine to hold you over and then book a spot with this place for follow up treatment.

We were referred to Animal Eye Care by the veterinarian who has cared for our elderly dog since he was a little puppy. His vision had deteriorated and he had blood vessels visible in the center of the cornea of one eye. It took a few days to get a non emergency appointment, and it was necessary to prepay to have them hold the time for us. And it was not inexpensive. On the day of our appointment, we met the staff. Everyone, from the people who greeted us at the front desk, to the veterinary technicians, and the veterinary ophthalmologist were great. Their obvious love for animals made our dog and me feel welcome and in safe hands. The veterinary ophthalmologist who saw us, Dr. Hamilton, was excellent, providing extensive information about our old dog's eye problems, causes, treatment, and expected outcomes. Specialist veterinary care is definitely pricey, but if your animal friend has eye troubles, Animal Eye Care is a great resource. Highly recommended.

I used Animal eye care in 2011 with great results with my chihuahua eye issues. She got an ulcer on her eye that her regular vet could not detect and treated it. I called and they realized the importance and fit me in same day. Thank you animal eye care.

I must inform all potential patients that Animal Eye Care is greedily violating California law and taking advantage of patients by withholding prescriptions. Instead of allowing people to fill prescriptions cheaper at pharmacies, they illegally force people to buy the drugs from them, at FOUR TIMES THE PRICE! This is especially messed up because they are taking advantage of pet owners already in a painful situation. For the legally minded; they are violating California Business and Professional Code (BPC) 4170 Article 12; Prescriber dispensing (6) and (7). I have filed a formal complaint as well, in accordance with subsection (b). (6) The prescriber, prior to dispensing, offers to give a written prescription to the patient that the patient may elect to have filled by the prescriber or by any pharmacy. (7) The prescriber provides the patient with written disclosure that the patient has a choice between obtaining the prescription from the dispensing prescriber or obtaining the prescription at a pharmacy of the patient's choice. My mom's dog Hershey had eye surgery, and the vet prescribed Tramadol to help him deal with the pain. Tramadol is readily available and inexpensive at any pharmacy, so my mom asked for a prescription to fill elsewhere. Animal Eye Care REFUSED. They said she MUST buy the pills directly from them- at a 400% markup. Picture the situation. My mom's beloved Hershey just had eye surgery and was prescribed painkillers for his painful healing. So that they could make even more money from my senior mom, who already paid almost $1000 for Hershey's surgery, they tried to strongarm her into buying the painkillers from them, for a 400% MARKUP. Imagine if your car maker mandated that you buy only THEIR gasoline, for 20$ a gallon instead of 4$. Imagine that someone pits you against your money and your best friend's health and wellbeing. Messed up, isn't it? It's the dirtiest, scummiest form of greed I can personally imagine, and what prompted me to write this review. Almost in tears, my mom called me, worried she couldn't afford the medicine, hoping that she had enough medication left over from Hershey's prior surgery. She didn't have enough leftover, and Hershey was clearly in pain, whining and unable to sit still. As a professional in the pharma industry, this did not seem quite right; I quickly located this law in the California BPC thanks to some prior legal experience. I called Animal Eye Care, and was bounced around between 3 technicians at the phone. I cited California code to the letter, and their response? "It's not our hospital policy to give RX to be filled elsewhere. You must buy them here." Excuse me? You are operating in California; your "policy" of greed does not trump the LAW, WHICH WAS WRITTEN TO PROTECT CONSUMERS AND WHICH YOU WORK INSIDE OF. You are not special, and you are not above the law. Thankfully, my mom's other veterinarian was shocked to hear about this fiasco, and quickly wrote Hershey a prescription to be filled at CVS; My mom bought the pills for less than 25% of what Animal Eye Care wanted for the same medications. For someone on a small fixed income, like my mom, that's very significant. Animal Eye Care should be ashamed, but I'm not sure such a petty and greedy hospital can feel guilt. The people I interacted with were "Kim", Caitlin Busichio (manager), and several others who I don't recall. The vet was Kyshia Tamar Davis, license #17860. Apart from this, their charge for an office visit PENTUPLED- from 50$ to 250$ since the last time Hershey was brought in.

This place is hellla expensive. And they want you to pay in advance when you make your appointment. But they seam to know what they are doing. All in all they are pretty good. I like that they are not so uptight about where you get your pet meds from. They will write the RX if you want to take it somewhere else to get it filled. On if you can get it online that will work work other pharmacies.

I agree with Anmol Sidhu, this place have bad business practices. I also have HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Experience with them. Just like everyone else, I looked for reviews and all the good reviews were completely false. It was the complete opposite and this is not good for a place to care for animals.

A bit expensive but you're paying for the best care. The doctor was great and the technician was very caring. The receptionist helped me get into the clinic sooner as I was originally scheduling for Pleasant Hill. I had a good experience and am worry free as my dog is doing great and on the mend.

I’m going to be fair on the review as possible. So I called them because my dog required eye drops due to his dry eyes. I called them to schedule an appointment and they stated that they needed $350 up front on the phone or else they can’t schedule the appointment for me. Since my dog require dog eye drops or he may go blind due to dry eyes. I agreed to pay for the $350 fee to be seen. I scheduled the appointment on Wednesday and requested to be seen the same week on Friday. Unfortunately, I had a family emergency and could not make the appointment on Friday. I called them the next day (Thursday) and explained to the receptionist that I had a family emergency and that it was unforeseen. They agreed to reschedule the appointment to Friday. I received a call back from them a few minutes later. The receptionist stated that the office manager told her to call me back and wanted to let me know that they would require another $350 over the phone to be seen. She stated that I did not cancel the call within 48 hours because “they saved the spot for me.” I told the receptionist that I called less than 24 hours ago and there was no possible way I would foreseen a family emergency. Additionally, the cancellation policy was not explained to me nor did the receptionist mentioned anything about calling within 48 hours. If I knew that there was going to be a family emergency, I would had not called them to be seen on Friday. So, I asked to talk to the office manager and they stated that she is “very busy at this time and that she would call me back.” I waited until the end of the day to call them back. The receptionist stated that the office manager had gone home for the day. So I tried again the next day. Again, she stated that she was busy and will call me back but failed to do so. I wanted to explained to the office manager that it was something that was unforeseen and that I called as soon as I found out It was a family emergency. Never got a call back. I reported them to BBB and that they are a fraud. Stay away from this company. They are money hungry and have no business integrity.

Excellent care, the technician was efficient and caring; the doctor was thorough and explained what our options were for treatment. Contrary to what some reviewers have stated; they were fine with providing prescriptions to be filled elsewhere if desired. I found the pricing to be fair as well. After all this is a specialty clinic so you are paying for expertise you can't get at your local veterinarian's office.

Not sure if the other 4-5 stars given by other people are accurate (possibly given by friends of the company). I trusted the reviews but it failed me miserably. My experience with them was the complete opposite. I agree with the other post below me with the 1 star. This company have NO BUSINESS INTEGRITY and lacks compassion (especially the office manager). I, too, was expecting a call back from the office manager (Caitlyn) but never got one back. I wanted to talk to her about their rude staff but I keep getting the run around. I guess their motto is “pay first or don’t be seen.” They rather see my dog go blind. The staff member stated that “maybe I should put my dog down because he had a minor cataract.” What kind of people would say that about a minor cataract that can be resolved. You have been warned. They are a bad company to go to. Bottom line is they don’t really care about your animal vision or health, they are cold and heartless. There are several other animal eye care specialist out there. I am not going to mention or promote their names. But do your research. I’m just trying to save you from pain and suffering that one can sustained after visiting this place.

Dr Patricia Smith was fabulous! Highly recommend. Her explanation of procedure performed was clear and concise. She understood my concerns and answered all questions. Didn't feel like I was rushed in or out. Nurse Nicole was excellent also, very compassionate.

They helped me when no one could figure out what was wrong and their staff is exceptional. They are professional but still people and you never just feel like another patient. You can tell they love what they do and they have a passion for it. Yeah the wait is a little long sometimes, but they don't rush you when you're there so it feels like a fair trade. They make the wait worth it.
