receptionist today was very rude and disrespectful, should not be working at a vet if this is how they’re okay with treating people who are trying to get their pets seen. i was outside parked ready to go in just to be spoken to horribly by the receptionist. never coming again and don’t recommend to anybody.

Our old dog suddenly collapsed while in Folsom for the holidays. We called every vet clinic in the area and none could fit him in to be seen. The emergency vets we could reach all wanted a hefty sum up front for critical care while also saying we would be waiting 4 to 6 hours in the parking lot before being seen. This clinic opened at 6 PM and we took a chance waiting until then. We called the office number and got a very helpful and kind person on the line who told us to come in. When we arrived just before 6 we called again to say we had arrived. The employee this time came across as bureaucratic and not as caring. It had me worried that the visit would turn out to be business like and profit centered. Thankfully the rest of our experience was very good and our dog was seen quickly once the technician triaged him. When the need for euthanasia was obvious the vet, Dr Smith, gave us the news with care and compassion. We were allowed to be with our dog at the end and everyone of the staff was likewise caring and compassionate. The price was fair and Dr Smith even used a less expensive diagnostic tool than what was on the estimate which was greatly appreciated. All Creatures Veterinary made a difficult evening as good as it could be.

There aren't enough positive words I could leave for this clinic. The staff is kind, calm, and patient. I took a husky in who needed to have a ball surgically removed from her stomach. Dr Garlinghouse kept me informed every step of the journey through emergency services. No one wants to go through a pet emergency but if I have to go through another one I will not hesitate to go straight here. Thank you for all you guys do!!

My 3.5 month old Chihuahua had a day of fun... He had a moment of freedom and he decided to drink a beer and eat a plate of human food in the 2 seconds my BF went to get the Amazon package ???????? I had done a virtual vet visit with my pet insurance...they said I needed to get puppy to the vet asap... I called 2 other locations and couldn't get seen...i called here and they said come on down...they are not letting people inside due to covid... They came right to the car and got my baby... They were so kind and patient and quick... I am so thankful for their service and CUSTOMER SERVICE...In a critical moment you wantt this for to and your fur babies!!! Thank YOU for this quality service!!! Update... puppy is 5 months now and we had another emerging need... And hands down this is the BEST VET around... they've been so incredibly kind and compassionate quality care every time we see them. Which is in emergencies lol and they never disappoint... the Dr is so kind with amazing bedside manner. And the staff are awesome and outstanding!!! If you need an emergency vet my 916 people... this is the only one I'll trust my fur babies with!!!

The night time staff is heaven sent. I brought my dog here because her face swelled up really bad. They were kind, quick and didn't charge an arm and a leg. You'll have my business for all my babies from here on! Thank you

I was very happy with my experience at All Creatures Folsom. The doctor and staff were very professional, helpful, kind and compassionate. I didn’t have to wait long before being helped and was allowed to leave to get food or find a bathroom. Dr. Garlinghouse explained my cat’s condition and the surgery very clearly. She didn’t talk down to me and was patient with my many questions. I feel their costs are very reasonable and much less than other emergency vets. They were helpful and understanding about payment and I never felt pressured or slighted. They dealt with me honestly and fairly. You can tell they put a lot of thought into the order the pets need to be seen to ensure no loss of life and don’t make rash decisions about surgery. Dr. Garlinghouse and the vet tech went over post op medicines and care with me and again were very patient and helpful. I don’t want to ever have to go back (other than to have the staples removed) but if I had to, this is where I would go!

Early this morning at about 12:10 am I had called about my dying turtle and was crying because it was a childhood pet and I asked if I could bring him in and I was told "umm NO" with a lot of attitude after I had told them that I thought he had passed and I was already horribly sad as it is so that just put the cherry on top, so after they asked no questions just told me to put him under a heating lamp and then 20 minutes later I called again to ask further questions and because I had calmed down and I wanted to ask because it might not be hibernation like she said and so I told her that what she said before about the hibernating could he drown if he did that because he wasn't moving at all and was limp and she tried to say she didn't say that and then she remembered she did and then she rudely told me pretty loud that then there's nothing to do and I was trying to be as nice as possible hoping for a change in tone but nope same rudeness and my turtle had passed away. If there was another place I could have called, I would but there's not many places that take exotic pets. If you could find a different place for your pet that would be best. For a 24 hour place don't call them past 12 or they are just going to be rude.

I had an emergency with my cockatoo on Thanksgiving night and no one in my city could help me. I was directed to call All Creatures and from start to finish their service and staff were outstanding. My call was answered right away and the receptionist instantly had me talking to their vet and looking at my pictures. Thank you Dr. Richard Smith for taking the time to find out was wrong and not have me drive 3 hours late at night. You helped me when no one else would and I am so grateful.

These ladies are saints! Last night around 8pm I brought my 5 month old Coton De Tulear to All Creatures Vet Hospital because she had a minor seizure. As soon as I spoke with someone over the phone, I knew these were great people who love their job. Every single hospital in all of Sacramento told me they were full, but All Creatures took my Koda in without hesitation. I ended up making the decision to keep her hospitalized over night due to her young age. All of the nurses were so informative and welcoming. They make you feel like family in such an anxious environment. My puppy went home this morning back to new and I left feeling like I made the right decision. Thank you Dr. Garlinghouse and all staff!

even the place was a bit of drive for me, I would go back again in the need arises. the staff there was so caring.. I had tried over 10 different vets to get my sick cat into and everyone was full or not taking on new patients, for several weeks out. all the gals there were super nice & friendly even tho they were so busy. I also want to say the Dr LaRue was great, she was very straight forward as well as being very caring for my cat, which I appreciate.

Enough good things cannot be said about the staff at All Creatures, they are truly amazing people. I've came her twice for two separate critical situations for both my pets. Each time my pets received the best care. Their prices are beyond reasonable (probably the cheapest in all of Nor-Cal), and in my last visit I received a credit when picking my dog up, as they said the treatment wasn't as much as they had anticipated. The staff are amazing people, that put you to ease while taking care of your pets. When speaking to them, it becomes clear they truly care about the proper treatment for your pets. Thank you to everyone at All Creatures!

I took my pet rat here one night as he was having breathing issues and making funny sounds. It was a huge relief getting him anywhere as vet offices are booked up for weeks or months. They came out to get him within 15 minutes of arrival and diagnosed him about 10 minutes after that. I got him medication and a treatment plan & was on my way home about a little over an hour of being there. Staff was very professional & friendly, as well at the doctor who called me to tell me his diagnosis & plan. Very reasonably priced as well compared to most emergency visits. I appreciate them so much and will recommend to anyone. Thank you All Creatures Vet!

Fantastic staff. We had 2 rats, when the first one went downhill they saved her life for a few weeks and she wasn't in pain. Second one was too late, so it ended up being "that visit", but they were extremely comforting about it. Even tried to put our rat on oxygen first. Two drives of 120 miles, and I wouldn't hesitate to take a third drive if I need vet services again. Thank you.

We took our ferret in for shoulder surgery and got back a dead ferret. They basically charged us $2k to kill our poor baby. The vet offered to cover the cost, but when I asked about it I received no response. Greedy, insensitive company. The poor carpet shark was barely 3 months old. I'm a disabled veteran with severe ptsd and had spent months debating on getting a new ferret after my last emotional support animal had passed away. I had finally found another animal that made me feel whole, and they took him from me and showed zero sympathy about it. Just a classless place. They only care about profit, not the actual animals or the people that the animals matter to.

These people are truly angel’s!!They take care of your pet with the best care and intentions. Our dog has a block in his digestive tract and didn’t look too good so when we took him in, they stayed open late just to help us!Just having a newborn and being a stay at home mom while my husband works is very hard on us mentally and financially and they were more then willing to work with us and i hope Dr.Smith and the other kind vet that helped us knows how much it truly meant to us. Even though it is a 40 minute drive from our apartment, we are definitely coming here from now on and I highly recommend it. Yes the waits can be long but some people need to understand that it is NO different then an Emergency Room. The most critical animals come first and if you stick out the wait, you can definitely get the care your animal needs and deserves. Thank you guys again!!

Our pet guinea pig is dead, and he shouldn’t be. My fiancé and I called about two dozen vet clinics requesting help with our guinea pig Alfie, who was suffering from a URI and in need of immediate care. We were told by one clinic after another that they had no availability for the next 2 weeks, or that they didn’t have a doctor on staff who could work on exotic pets. We were finally referred by another clinic to All Creatures, so my fiancé and I drove from downtown Sacramento to Folsom at 6:00 pm in order to make sure we would be seen that night. Upon arrival we were told the only doctor currently working is “extremely allergic” to guinea pigs. Left with no other options, we could only attempt to feed and water our sick guinea pig at home with a syringe. He desperately needed antibiotics, which we could not get without a prescription from a vet. Sadly, two days later our guinea pig passed away. My fiancé is devastated. Alfie was her first pet, and he was always in such good health until this URI. I can’t help but feel angry because our beloved pet would likely still be alive if we could’ve found a vet professional to look at him. So if you have a guinea pig, don’t bother calling All Creatures. They cannot help you.

Called about my cat having a UTI and they said come in, we can take her. Drove a half hour to get there, from Carmichael, checked in at the same time another woman next to me did. Waited over an hour, they came and took the cat from the woman next to me. I waited another hour, plus, and watched as people came and picked up pets and brought other pets in and I’m still waiting. At one point, I caught a technician in the parking lot and explained I’ve been there for over an hour. She said oh you are next. Other people came and went and they still didn’t call me. I finally left and went to another vet and got seen right away. Very disappointed and the way they handled that and communicated to me. Would not give me an estimate, other than an $85 office visit.

Our 14 yr old boy, Duke, had to go to All Creatures at the end of August because he refused to eat and was throwing up a lot. We knew he had pancreatitis and feared there was a complication. It was discovered that Duke has become diabetic. A sincere thank you and shout out to Dr. LaRoe and the incredibly caring staff at All Creatures. I called many times while Duke was there to check up and they always knew what was going on without delay. They ran many tests and though we had hoped it was just a pancreatic flare-up, it was not. Duke now has to have 2 insulin shots a day and I have been extremely freaked out about taking on this task to keep Duke alive and well. Last night, I broke down and had to call All Creatures while having a near panic attack and spoke with Mary who was so kind, I cannot even express my gratitude. She calmed me down, told us to bring Duke in and once she had a moment, she would help us give Duke his injection. She shared some great tips and hopefully this morning goes well ???? I will take my pets to All Creatures if there is an emergency again and recommend them to my family and friends. Thank you again, All Creatures, for being a great team who really shows and gives the proper attention for our fur(less) babies!

Best place to take your vets. Unfortunately my dog didn't make it she was really sick but Dr.Smith and all the staff that night were super kind, nice and understanding. Its a great vet hospital with good prices also. A great place to take your pets.

I brought in a little guinea pig who wasn't eating, drinking or moving around, suspecting that her overgrown molars were the problem, and they certainly were. But Dr. Smith later called to tell me that her back legs weren't working, paralyzed, possibly from a spinal injury and that she was beginning to have seizures, so he wasn't going to attempt the procedure because it would cause her more trauma and suffering. I asked if he thought we should put her out of her suffering and he said he would if it was up to him, for she was declining rapidly. It was sad, but Dr. Smith communicated so kindly, that it was easier. Yes, I had to wait a long time in the parking lot before this, but I understand that it is an emergency clinic and triage is in order. When I went back to pick up the little creature's body, a staff member had carefully wrapped it and put her name on it with a heart. All of the staff was kind, friendly, and efficient as they went from car to car and checking in patients. If this veterinarian, Dr. Smith, had another practice, I would surely choose him for any of my pets. Thank you Dr. Smith and staff at All Creatures!

This is the most caring and wonderful vet clinic. My cat was attacked by something and needed emergency care. They got him in right away and were so compassionate and loving. They made a tragic situation much more bearable. Butch kitty had to be euthanized due to his injuries, and the doctor and vet techs were amazing and kind. I highly recommend this vet and would give them a dozen stars if I could. RIP Butch kitty ????

Absolute worst experience of my life taking my dog here to get put down. It was like they tortured him to death!

Rude staff for calling for an emergency - they were the only ones open at 4:30AM when called and the woman mentioned they were open, but refused to take my dog, and wouldn't refer us elsewhere.

I ended up here with an emergency for my almost 23 year old snake and then again for end of life services. My beloved pet was handled with the utmost of expertise and care but what really meant so much is the staff's handling and care for me during the most difficult of times. Jessica especially I'll went above and beyond with solace and understanding. I received better care for my Rosy and myself than from our own Vet at All About Pets. I am grateful for their practice and availability.
