Best Cat Veterinarian Ever. She is Epic. Why? Not because her address is on Tabby Lane. Not because she has cat faces on her shoes. Not because her doctor's bag is technically a portable veterinary office in a cat-themed suitcase. Not because she makes house calls (didn't think cat-calls would quite fit here). Not because she has a non-profit to make veterinary care accessible to underserved kitties. Not because she messaged with me extensively while she was on vacation before she'd ever even SEEN my cat, while good-naturedly riding the scheduling roller-coaster ride my cat threw her onto. And certainly, not just because she is intelligent and keeps up with research and understands the concept of "differential diagnosis" (impressive in this era of algorithm-driven medicine.) Why is Dr. Phoenix so fabulous? This doc LOVES cats! She even SPEAKS cat! When she first entered my house, she sat down near my cat and didn't make a move other than letting Kitty sniff her etc. She examined Kitty while Kitty was on her own chair, when Kitty decided to run and hide in the bathroom, Dr. Phoenix continued her exam in the bathroom. When Kitty decided to curl up in her own bed, the doc just finished up examining her in the bed. She made a cat game of the ophthalmoscope, and then sneaked in a few peeks at Kitty's eyes. And when I asked doc to help me cut Kitty's claw tips--because Kitty won't let me do it myself--Dr. Phoenix good-naturedly accepted Kitty's smackdown, bites, and scratches--matter-of-factly going to clean up her wounds when we decided to clip nails another time. Kitty had gone through enough trauma for one day. Doc also amiably endured my hyperactive chatter spilling from my mental labyrinth, and after giving Kitty her first dose of medication, was thorough and concise in her directions, following up with a summary email that arrived immediately. Later that evening, she texted me to see how Kitty was doing, and the following morning, sent me an email with so much helpful information with links--that I plan to print it out for bedside reading. Not just info relevant to Kitty's immediate concerns--but also info on creating the most cat-friendly environment. Just like in humans--and really, all life forms, stress directly correlates with the relative wellness our of our cats. After emailing me, she texted to make sure I checked my spam folder, if I did not receive her email. Her rates are tiered according to age of cat (kitten, adult, and 10+ years) and whether it's a first time exam, a routine wellness exam, a sick kitty exam, a follow-up visit, or acupuncture visit. There are also virtual options for specific services. I've had many vets in 60 years whom I cannot recall. The details are a blur, while their ignorant advice, disease-creating treatment, and lack of compassion for my animal companions remain etched in my consciousness. Thankfully, there are 2 or 3 luminous exceptions, whose names and faces I'll never forget. These are vets that practice critically thinking, while prioritizing the animals' well-being above any other factor. Dr. Phoenix is one of the exceptions. Do a favor for your kitty and yourself: Schedule a wellness visit to get to know the doc while your cat isn't sick and stressed. Then, if they ever do get sick--Dr. Phoenix will be a familiar friend to them, rather than a scary stranger when they aren't feeling well. My only regret is that I didn't introduce my Kitty to Dr. Phoenix sooner.

I would highly recommend Dr. Watt. She helped us to figure out the best diet for our cat. Another vet wanted to put her on hydrolized protein and possible steroids, but thankfully Dr. Watt helped us to avoid all of that. She has a heart of gold and a common sense approach to cat care. You will not be disapointed!

Exceptional white glove compassion provided by a highly competent veterinarian professional in the comfort and safety of your own home. Dr. phoenix is a paragon of virtue’s she responds expeditiously when there are health issues that require immediate attention. She has compassionately helped my recently departed 27 years old fur baby pass and now is guiding my rescue kittens through spay and neuter while complying with Covid restrictions.

Dr. Phoenix is a wonderful human being. Her care, love, and attention to detail for our kittie was unmatched. We didn't want to take our little guy to the vet and have him pumped full of who knows what or deal with the chaos of vets, so we had Dr. Phoenix come to our house for a visit. It was so cool to watch her work her magic. We had vaccines and treatments, check-up, and eventually neutered our little guy all in the living room. If you want to be respected, heard, and looked after with care, she is a no-brainer, and she comes to your house! Her services are affordable and top-notch. She is a hidden San Diego gem!

Dr Phoenix is amazing! She spends a lot of time with the cats and goes above and beyond. The best part is that she comes to your home so no need to wrangle the cats into the carrier. Life changing for me!

Our 16-year old rescue cat had a stroke and we did not want to take her in the car to a noisy vet office where she would be further stressed out and scared. Dr. Phoenix Watt came to our home to perform the euthanasia procedure. Our kitty died in our arms in a peaceful, serene environment. It was exactly what we wanted. Dr. Watt took our kitty to the crematorium for us afterwards and will deliver her ashes within a few weeks for an extra fee. We did not hesitate to take her up on this to minimize our sadness. This vet house call exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Dr. Watt even switched around her schedule so she could come to our home immediately as to not make our kitty suffer longer than she already had. Dr. Watt did not rush out the front door after the procedure; she let us take our time to sit in our sadness and told us to take our time before handing over our kitty. We were grateful for this time to pause and reflect without hurrying. Dr. Watt's personality is perfect for a vet and is calming for both the animal and the "parents" of the pet. Her fees are reasonable for a house call of this magnitude. Dr. Watt is warm, kind, professional and caring. We will definitely use her for routine visits for our other animals.

I've known Phoenix for years and now her dream has come true of becoming a vet. She's the kind of vet you want, caring compassionate and honest. She specializes in cats, but my dog Apollo loves her so don't hesitate to call her if you have dogs!!!

Dr. Phoenix is amazing! My cat Moxie is 12 years old and having a mobile vet come to my home was so convenient. I highly recommend Dr. Phoenix for her expertise and professionalism.

I cannot recommend Dr Phoenix highly enough. She is warm, compassionate and there for you and your precious baby when you need her. Her prices made it possible to get the help we needed. My kitty, who would normally run from visitors, was like butter in her arms. The care in our own home was so very important for his last days. Thank you Dr Phoenix for all of your dedication and efforts for our precious boy. We are grateful and at peace knowing everything possible that could be done, was. He was just finished with this life. Again, thank you! ❤

100% recommend Zencatvet! Dr. Watt is awesome, she was so gentle and patient with my cat Suni.  It's by far the best experience I have had with any cat and the vet. To have your vet come to you in your own home removes the anxiety of a car ride, waiting room, etc.  The last few trips to the vet were horror stories, and this visit with Dr. Watt was a complete turnaround.  Suni was relaxed and calm.  Dr. Watt is professional and it's obvious she cares deeply about her patients. We are never going back to the vet again!  We are committed to the positive experience of Zencatvet and Dr. Watt.
