RSDAH was fast at getting me an appointment. They are diligent with providing assessments and probable cures for my cat's upper respiratory illness. Vets can be and are expensive but RSDAH is very willing to work with you, giving you options with their diagnoses.

My experience with this establishment went more than well. They are very helpful, caring and prompt. I live in Julian and have been to many vets in the surrounding areas and none come close to being as professional as this place. I will definitely take the drive to come back here. They took very good care of my cat Cricket and I couldn't be more than thankful towards everyone who works here. Thank You all!

Absolutely poor service. I will never take my animals to this place again! Reception was unbelievably rude and didn’t know her job. Failed to inform of their “hospital policies “ of 1 person per room when I had my kids. Then the crazy idea to just take my dog into the back and do the exam over the phone?! I would never let anyone examine my kids alone why would I let someone take my dog alone, not knowing what they are doing to make a buck… don’t trust at all!

Very busy and the process was chaotic and frustrating. However, the work done on my dog was good. I am willing to endure the madness to get the care.

If you are looking for a place where you're treated like FAMILY from the initial call to walking out the door when you're done this is your place! My house rabbit (Baby) was very sick with GI stasis. Dr. Hare (????) literally got down on the floor to do the physical exam. I was so impressed! His knowledge was remarkable! After needed x-rays he reassured me surgery was not needed! I was shown how to give the meds and food via syringe by Bruce who gave the first dose of meds for me! The entire staff was beyond excellent! This will now be our family vet for our 2 dogs as well! ..a quick added note to their team..pancake, waffles or French toast.. and carmels????

I have thought about whether to put this out there but I used this forum to determine if this vet was acceptable as my regular vet did not have a sooner appointment available, so here goes. The staff was nice. Biggest regrets: If a vet says he/she can do tooth surgery without anesthesia, walk away. It was never about the money in my case. Remember, if not done right, you will be paying more to fix what happens next. How are the tooth particles supposed to be thoroughly cleaned out of the animal's mouth when it is awake? Also, if an abscess occurs due to said improper cleaning procedures, always require lancing else necropsy will occur. If the vet does not have time to clean out the abscess and just gives you antibiotics, then go to a vet or emergency room that does have time to lance it, like PESC in La Mesa. I now have a young guinea pig without his two older guinea pigs. We are all in grief, even my other pets who were raised with them.

The staff was rude and unable to help me when my Pet was injured. However, the Doctors have been very good to my Pet in the past.

By far the best veterinary experience, as far taking in my guinea pigs, I've ever had. I've made them my permanent choice for anything I need for my piglets. One time I had a small scare and after calling to make an appointment I was told they were booked out for multiple days, they still squeezed me in that day and gave my guinea pig their full attention and time. Alot of times vets will give you the bare minimum attention and time in order to get to the next appointment or will push unnecessary services on you in hopes to get more money out of you, not here. I could honestly go on and on about how awesome they are and it's not even just one of their veterinarians I'm talking about. At this point I think I've seen three different veterinarians here. The peace of mind of knowing on any given day that if something pops up I will receive caring and immediate attention is almost priceless.

Very unprofessional to leave me and my dog in the car for over an hour in the middle of a warm day to get a BORDETELLA vaccine! Then, when calling to see if we were forgotten, I was left on hold for 16 min! NOT HAPPY!!!!!!!

Our juvenile female Panther Chameleon became very lethargic the past couple days. Called yesterday late afternoon and was able to get an appointment for today and was allowed to be in the exam room to go over symptoms and care. Dr. Brown spoke mainly to my daughter and treated her with the respect as the main caregiver and was very positive and encouraging that we can nurse her back to health and reminded her that we have taken excellent care of her and if she doesn't survive it is nothing we did. This speaks volumes to the great facility RSDAH is. The staff is very professional and welcoming, felt more like visiting a friend and this was our first time ever being there. If you have a exotic pet this is the place to go!

Front desk staff cold and unresponsive. I stopped using this vet a few years ago because of front office staff. Yesterday when I visited office again found the staff just as rude as ever.

This place has taken such great care of all my dogs. I have lost two but with their support I know my fur babies were in good hands. They will treat your babies like one of their own.

I had an issue with my leopard geckos eye. I knew just from the phone conversation making the appointment that I had called the right vet clinic. Took her in today and saw Dr. Hare. He was awesome, everyone was awesome! They let me come inside, had to wear a mask, and answered every single question I had. I didn’t feel like he was in a rush, he explained everything so that I could understand it. The tech, Katie I believe, answered my questions as well. Went to checkout and the receptionists where so friendly and genuine. They definitely have a long time client. I would highly recommend them for any animal you may have.

took my maltipoo gino in because he was very sick and unresponsive. They told me the dog was too sick and my options were either to take him to a specialist with an expected cost of 7000 on top of the 400 i already gave them (which only paid for a blood test and a heat pack). They also assured me the dog would 100% not make it if i didn't get him intensive care and told me to put the dog down if i couldn't pay. After lying just to get the dog away from them I took him home and a quick google search and analysis of the blood work from the vet showed he most likely has a liver shunt (common in very small dogs like mine). A simple diet change was all he needed and with 0 additional treatment he is now back to full health and doing better then ever. They gave me zero options expect extremely aggressive treatment that would have most likely ended up killing him from stress. These are the vets to avoid!!!
