We have been going to this provider for many years. however, our recent experience with this provider is horrible. This provider stalled us with out directing us to go emergency with an excuse for saving emergency cost. However, eventually he referred us to emergency after charging over 2k additional charges. So, think twice if you hear the following " Need to take x-ray and ultra sound", "I can do the procedure", " We will need to keep the dog overnight to observe" We have learned our lesson after hard and nightmare experiences. I plan to report out to Vet board and working with other agencies to make sure no one will go thru pain that we did.

I really love these guys but there should be some kind of emergency services too. Just charge crazy extra money for emergency visits so only the ones who need it will come. Keep one hour in a day for pets who might need serious attention.Its really annoying when we are told to get the pet to the doctor as soon as you see blood in his stool and then you are told they are backed up and the latest appointment is no where close to after a week.

I have been bringing my pets to Dr, Z for the past 20 years. I love and appreciate the care Dr. Z, And his staff have always provided. Once again , I was in need of an appointment for my dachshund Hershey. He has been suffering from allergies lately. I called and spoke to Javier, and explained my situation. Even though they have been extremely busy and short handed, they squeezed me in, as soon as possible. Thank you. I realize that his issue was not urgent or life threatening, but you still got me in ASAP. Just wanted to give you an extra THANKS! Dr. Z, Javier, Donna, and the rest of the staff, your hero’s too!

It would have been better if we were told to come later. They were too busy at our 4:30 time. And we would have stayed home longer. But good Veterinary care is popular.

I really am trying to like this place and write a positive review, however you have to be careful with their mischarges. I took both my dogs for their annual check up/vaccines. Prior to making the appointments, the receptionist told me what the totals would be for each dog. Great, I confirmed the appointment, took them in. Doctor was great, however they charged me 81.00 dollars more. Unfortunately, I did not get to compare the numbers until I got home, I called, receptionist apologized, was ready to refund me 50.00, but I asked for the full difference, she said she would get back to me. I called the next day, and I was denied everything. The office manager even stated that it was their mistake, but because I signed off on it they cannot refund me the difference. I stated to them that their receptionist was ready to give me a 50.00 refund yesterday and they admitted that that was also a mistake that she did on her part. Point being, very frustrating, with a mistake that was rooted from their end, and all they said was sorry, our bad, not once, but twice.

Quick to diagnose pet problem. Parking area is very small and with the requirement of staying outside, it's rather uncomfortable in the hot sun.

My family and I have been coming to Duarte Azusa Animal Hospital for over 18 years. The staff has ALWAYS been welcoming and loving towards our animals. Dr. Z is the best and goes above and beyond for the animals he treats! He explains everything so that you understand and gives great tips for home care. He has saved our dogs on multiple occasions and the staff provides so much love and attention to them. Not only Dr. Z, but his staff is just as wise and helps answer all questions we have! I cant imagine taking my baby girl anywhere else but here! I trust them with the most important thing in my life (my dog Leah) and i have never been dissapointed in their service. Dr. Z has even saved puppies from parvo and gave our family one of them after our dog had passed away from old age. When we lost our family dogs when I was younger, the staff always made them and us comfortable while we said our goodbyes. I am so thankful for that and them! I would recommend this hospital for any owner who is looking for high quality care and staff who love the animals as if they were their own. Since my dog has developed major health issues this past year, we have relied on them so much and we appreciate everything they have done to keep our pup healthy and here with us. This is the best animal hospital around! Thank you Dr. Z and the amazing staff!

Been taking my fur baby here for quite sometime it is an excellent place,the staff is perfessional and take care of your pet Needs I would recommend it to anyone.

Only reason I gave it a low score is because ever since COVID they don't allow you in to be with your pet during treatment. So it's really heartbreaking not to be there during your loved family members final moments, if they have to be euthanized, like with my little girl. It kills me how scared and alone she must've felt without me. Otherwise, Dr. Z is awesome

Staff makes me feel they personally care about my pets, not just a business. Dr Z did a thorough and successful surgery on my Joey, Jack Russell Chihuahua.

I had been going here for years with all my dogs. And spent a lot of money to care for my dogs. I was really dis-appointed when they would not make an exception to squeeze him in when he was really sick. Will no longer bring my pups to this place. Place up the street in Monrovia took him in no questions asked.
