Loud inside lobby ... not able to stay with your animal ... seemed very impersonal ... and expensive $50 Vet office call fee on top of fees for each injection

Hands down the best veterinary in the area. Our puppy passed away after giving us 17 of the best years. It was close to closing time and after calling several vets in the area who didn’t even care to offer any options, they not only stayed open, they gave us time to grieve. They care and they have forever customers.

Sorry for the long post, BUT this was absolutely the WORST experience I have ever encountered. My family and our 9 pound Yorkie have been a "member" of the Banfield insurance plan for 4 years, so when our dog had an emergency this last Saturday I called the office in Dana Point to be told, "Please hold, I will be with in a minute". 32 minutes later and while I drove to the office and still on hold, I approached the desk while an attendant was on the phone. She said to the other person on the phone, "Please hold". She asked me what I was there for; I responded; "Do you have other people on the phone that need to be taken care of?"...her response, "No, they can wait!". I responded with..."I am one of those people on hold!". I showed her my phone to have her see my wait time on my phone. She shrugged her shoulders. She asked is I had an appointment, I said no because it's an emergency....hence why I was calling. She responded that the doctor is too busy to see emergencies and tried to push me out the door with a card for an emergency hospital....that doesn't take our "insurance". She said, "we are a preventative clinic and isn't equipped to handle emergencies"!! Remember the name of this clinic is: "Banfield PET HOSPITIAL"! I immediately asked to speak with the vet. After asking 3 other techs, I finally got a "nurse tech" who said that she would see our dog in the car. She looked at our dog for 30 seconds and said, "there isn't anything wrong". As a doctor myself; emergency patients are never told to leave my office. Upon calling the other Banfield Pet Hospital in Aliso Viejo and telling the assistants my dogs symptoms, they said to come in immediately for tests and to see what was going on (they were very busy as well). We took our dog to Aliso and everything I expected out of a "pet hospital" was performed at Aliso. This Dana Point office is a COMPLETE joke and BEWARE for your pet's safety if you go here.

Banfield on Doheny road closed and move to PCH. I brought my collie in for routine teeth cleaning. You are not allowed to bring your pet inside. They come out to get them. I would have happily shown my vaccine card and wear a mask to bring my dog inside. It just feels weird having her brought in somewhere I have never been by an employee I have never met.

The doctors, vet techs and reception personnel at the Dana Point Banfield Pet Hospital are an exceptional team. They managed my dear dogs end of life journey so well. For a few months, while I was frantic and heartbroken, they answered every question, saw him each time I needed an update and walked me through the process in a way that made me and my dog feel cared for. At the end, the doctor and vet tech, Rachael, were extraordinary, kind and caring. For one of the worst days of my life, they gave me the support I needed. I cannot express how grateful I am to the team, especially Rachel. When I'm ready for another pet, I won't hesitate to sign up for the wellness plan and return to this location.

Had a great experience here with both my pups, had great social distancing practices and came to my car to pick both of them up. They are both happy and healthy a week after both being on antibiotics, would totally recommend this place!
