A Home 4 Ever Rescue Costa Mesa, California

I didn't have a good experience with this rescue. Went to one of their in-person adoption days with a dog in mind and was a bit taken aback by the volunteer who interacted with us ("no one wants him" in reference to one of the dogs) to the condition of the dogs, particularly the length of their nails. Basic grooming didn't look like it had taken place, even though some of the dogs had been available for months. Against my judgment we still put an application in - note, they will ask for too much info, your driver's license no etc. We were told by Erin the dog's foster would call us - we never received a call. Signed onto their social media 1.5 weeks later to find out within that time the dog had been adopted out. Emails we sent weren't responded to. There was no basic human respect letting us know the dog was adopted out or they didn't think we were a good fit or even that they might not be able to respond. Just ghosted; no response to emails sent directly to Erin. Ignoring people who want to help is deeply disrespectful and gives animal rescue a bad name. Overall, felt very discriminatory (we rent), which I see other people have felt. Please give your money and time to other organizations. Also please be wary of their positive Google reviews - Erin Muellenberg (rescue leadership) is one of the reviewers who left 5 stars here. Other positive reviews read like they were solicited or left by friends/family/volunteers.

So many good things to say about this Rescue! Erin goes above and beyond to make sure the dogs are adopted out to just the right family and she is in constant contact as well as transparent about every dog they have in their care. She truly works 28 hours a day and could not be a kinder woman as well as such an impeccable team of volunteers that helped make the adoption process so amazing. Not a lot of rescues out there do what they do, I wasn’t a huge fan of rescue until I met Erin and her team. Please,do the hard research on a rescue if you choose that route because a lot of them are turning sick and not quite adoptable dogs for profit but this one is beyond outstanding in every way. Thank you Erin and your team! Jack has made this family whole again! He’s just ???? perfect!❤️

I’m so grateful for this rescue! I have adopted 2 dogs from them at separate times and I couldn’t be happier to have them. They were both in terrible shape, with rotting teeth, fleas, mites, infected wounds, worms etc. A Home 4Ever made sure that all of these issues were taken care of before I took them home. Their volunteers truly go out of their way to care for these dogs, many that are disabled, aggressive or are in need of surgeries. They are hopeful for all dogs and will keep them safe until they find a their forever home, however long it takes. Thank you for your love and care to save these dogs!!!!! Highly recommend adopting from this company ❤️

Great rescue. They take care of their dogs so well. They also try to make sure the dog will have the best possible home. In addition our dog was spayed and had all her shots when we adopted her

The dedicated loving people who run this rescue are angels here on earth. They’ve never been this busy!! And that’s the way they like it ????

I have adopted two dogs from A Home 4Ever Rescue and could not have had a better experience with both. All of the volunteers were so patient and kind. They care so much about their dogs and made sure they were going to the best home for the dog and the pawrents. They save so many dogs from high kill shelters, plus senior & disabled dogs. My mom adopted her precious boy Scooby from this rescue. He is a chihuahua and about 1-2 years old. The rescue took him in with a broken leg and hip and paid a very expensive price to get quality surgery! He is about 2 months past surgery now and healing wonderfully. Without them, he may have been put down by a shelter or have had to get his leg amputated by someone who could not afford to get the surgery needed to fix it. He now has a plate, pins and a wire in his leg but is in no pain and runs and jumps around like the dog he is supposed to be. Thank you A Home 4 Ever <3. I would highly recommend adopting, donating and/or volunteering with them!

This rescue is made up of a bunch of dog loving people who find joy in helping pups get their second chance and a life of snuggles and walks. All of the dogs are spay/neutered, have updated shots, and have had a check up as well as a microchip. Every penny they earn goes straight back to the dogs! There was never any sign of discrimination and they always consider every application when making a decision. Highly recommend to everyone and anyone to adopt through this shelter.

I adopted from them 2 years ago. Since, I have become employed at a rescue and learned that this one is extremely prejudice to people of color. They made me pay $450 for my baby boy who had horrible skin and was underweight. I know they did it because I am brown and my partner at the time was asian and covered in tattoos. What’s my confirmation? While I was signing my adoption contract after 2 weeks of being forced to foster, I witnessed the adoption counselors downright refuse adoption to a latinx family for what I can only assume was prejudice as they would not let the family interact with the animal at all. It’s a shame, to come to this realization so far after the fact, but they took advantage of me and my money and my heart and I hope they don’t do it to you.

Diana England was very rude in responding about a pet I was interested in. Very unprofessional. Don’t waste your time & money while you are in Las Vegas.

We adopted our sweet little boy last July. Our Fergus is just a joy! The volunteers @ a Home 4 Ever Rescue are dedicated to making sure as many dogs as they can rescue are matched with loving people. I can't say enough positive words to express how grateful we are to have found our little boy. This would not have been possible if not for the efforts of this wonderful rescue group
