Pretty much impossible to adopt a pet from this place. Customer service could be better.

Me and my grandson lives in coronado close to paws ,we bought a dog from a person who advertised in a group on Facebook , the dog breed was Pomeranian whom we were very interested to own one, so we called the owners right away and we went and picked up a beautiful little dog we fall in love with him right a way, after a day or two we contacted Paws so they can give him all his shots de warm and neuter him and after the owner of Paws told us that after we finish vaccinating him she will put him for adoption and she will contact us first to go adopt him back, next day the owner said that Rio the dog was sick and he needs to be treated for a month or more and when he gets better she will contact us , after a month and a half I called the owner of Paws to see if he is back so we can pick him up, she told us that he was adopted by the foster family whom he staid with for his treatment , we we’re miss led and we’re giving wrong information because she gave us wrong information and did not inform us from the beginning that he might be adopted by the foster family who treated him and was giving to them instead of treating him in one of their rehabs , if she told us from the beginning and after we found out he was sick we could treated him our selves. When I texted her today she was very Rode and she gave us wrong information , I would not recommend anybody to foster or adopt from Paws because the owner was (Diss honest) and made us loose our dog intentionally .

Paws is the best! I found a sweet, senior dog over by the landing with no collar. I was able to drop the dog off on a Sunday morning and within an hour I had a voicemail from Paws saying they located the owner through the chip in the dog and they were on their way. great work!

Truly disappointing, I would give it no stars if I had a chance. My family and I just moved and were in search of a dog. We found a beautiful younger wired haired terrier in need of a home and immediately jumped on. After contacting Paws we were told that the dog was still available and we can come check him out. Today my parents went to go look at him in the morning. HE WAS THE BEST!!! We immediately fell in love with him more than we loved him in pictures. He was very energetic and super smart. We were told that the dog would be ours and the other applications would be thrown away. This evening we get an email that the dog needs to put under behavioral training and they were no longer interested in looking for a new home for him. This is seriously so screwed up, why would bother to play with our emotions. They knew that we were ready for the challenge, WE KNEW WHAT WE WERE GETTING OURSELVES INTO. We knew he needed training because his is still a young dog. We even said we would pay for professional training but they said no. We just don't get why they don't want a loving sweet family to expand. Let me know if this has happened to you!

As far as animal shelters go, this one's one of the best smelling ones I've been to. I know it takes a lot to do this job, but it is very much appreciated that I don't have to hold my breath or breathe through my shirt collar/sleeve when looking for a fur baby. The staff is helpful and knowledge of the animals in their care, but if things don't work out, you're given a two week window to return the pet and get a the adoption fee refunded.

A great animal rescue place. Seemed like it was for people serious about adoptions. The few animals we saw had ample space and looked well taken care of

Unbelievably disappointing. My dogs were brought here by the Coronado police department. When I arrived a couple of hours later at first they wouldn’t tell me where my dogs had been taken. I had to make several phone calls to eventually find my dogs locked in crates in the back of a extremely storage room with no water. It was shocking to see an organization purporting to be dedicated to humane treatment of animals so egregiously in violation of something as simple as providing water. My dogs were panting and traumatized. Absolutely unacceptable at every level.

Ladies at the front desk are so incredibly rude. Acted as though my husband and I weren't good enough to adopt there.

Really nice facility but not alot of options to adopt. This facility spends all it's money making it look fancy but it could definitely hold many other dogs. When I went there was only three dogs and cats plus even a turtle had the same size room as a full grown dog. Again really nice area in coronado but could potentially save more stray dogs if they wanted to

Small but nice facility. They care very much for the animals others abandon on the island and do their best to ensure each adoption is right for the dog or cat and the family. Our pup is turning into a wonder member of the family.
