The most amazing staff as they care deeply for all the animals. We had a wonderful experience with them when we had to bail my sisters 3 fur babies out lol. In conclusion always consider adoption so many fur babies need a home????

This location has absolutely amazing caring staff who are friendly and helpful. During my Microchip visit, my fur baby made himself known in multiple locations. The staff were not rude about it and I wax apologetic willing to clean up after my pooch. However, they had a system and said its normal not making a scene of it.

The Chula Vista Animal Care Facility is a great place from which to adopt a pet. The staff go through every effort to make sure they fit the right pet with the right potential adopter. The animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, given a health check, treated for any medical issue, given needed vaccinations, microchipped, and given a behavioral check (and licensed for those living in Chula Vista, Bonita and Lemon Grove). Animals are well taken care of while at the shelter. Staff will educate owners regarding things to know about bringing a new pet into the home especially if there are other pets and children. They are thorough. Adoption fees are among the least expensive in the County. The focus is on finding animals homes. I have had 2 successful adoptions. Check out this shelter and give a homeless animal a loving home. After all, wouldn't you want to be treated the same way if you were homeless? Thank you.

Not sure why this place is in the 4 star range, the employees here have the most horrific attitudes, on top of not doing a complete assessment on a dog before adopting out. It seems like to me they make up policies as they go. There’s no structure. They need help and a attitude adjustment.

Kind of irritated due to fact that every time I go there the dogs have been adopted or they've been placed on a hold for some reason and they don't tell you why and they don't post their adopted but when they are adopted I've noticed that some of the dogs have been staying there for days

$25.00 adoptions during November. Mostly Pitbulls and Huskys. Do your homework and if you adopt, make a lifetime commitment. These animals deserve it.

Came in on Tuesday and was told it would take 3 days MAX for my application to be approved. We put a hold a cute terrier mix and it’s been more than 3 days and the terrible staff at this shelter can’t even answer the phone or call you back. Chula Vista shelter isn’t interested in people rescuing there Dogs from the horrible cages they put them in outside. Tried to help locally but I guess we will go to SD Humane at least they answer the phone and have a kind gentle staff who are there to help.

They at least let you walk thru and see if your animal is there .the front desk is always extremely helpful and kind. Unlike the bonita facility . They won't even let you see if your animal is there that really concerned me .why won't they let us walk thru. But that's bonita. Thumbs up for Chula vista .very clean facility and they care about the animals .. you can just tell. Good job guys and thank you

They don't care about owners being reunited with their pets instead it's about the loneliest most harsh and filthy be aware of your pets. Should they be accidentally picked up and taken here you will be heartbroken by the environment the lack of support and love while being there. I couldn't afford to get my dog back so they are going to adopt her out to another for 75 dollars but I'm charged 300 not worried if she misses our house and it's sad when everything they get is funded and donated to begin with, and the pets emotional well isn't a concern. I wish I never need to go there again.

I called this place to see if they can accept a Kitten that I found on the street and they told me that they do, however when I get there they told me they don't accept kittens unless they are hurt that I should just release the kitten on the wild because they eventually find their home. My point here is what if the kitten got abandoned? I do understand adult cats but we are talking about a kitten. So if you find a kitten don't even bother to take it to the shelter.

The staff that works here seems like they dont have time of day for people who love their pets but have to quarantine their pets due to Karens for neighbors. While pet was in quarantine I was not allowed any contact and when I brought personal items for the dog when we went to get him out they told me they didn't have them ....
