I’ve taken my two cats here once for check ups and the staff is incredibly nice . The doctors/veterinarians could be a tad bit warmer. But they didn’t know what they were talking about. They seem very knowledgeable about cats in general. Four stars I’m a bit disappointed was the cost was so high. We came in for a basic check-up which was great but the items recommended were so expensive, we denied and decided to go with a different clinic. We’re from out of state and maybe that’s just what it cost in California but their pricing was very high

I spoke with the front desk gal and the Doctor and her assistant called updating me on our sick cat with plans and costs upfront. I appreciate that and feel confident they'll find the problem my poor cat has.????

They took very good care of my cat. Had to take him twice because the vet wasn't there to give a shot but otherwise it was a good trip

I did not have a good experience. Sorry, but it just didn’t work for my cat. They told me over the phone she was aggressive but when I picked her up she was just meowing. Part of the problem is you have to leave your cat there and they say it will take about two hours for them to check on your cat. I think all the time that passes between the drop off and the actual time when they look at your cat makes the pet very anxious. I thought they would be checking the cat and you had to wait for that time in order to get test results or something, but no. They still charge you even if they don’t do any treatment, just for trying to get the pet out of the kennel. A little disappointed because now I have to find another place while the problem advances. The only solution they offered was to sedate the cat.

The office staff was wonderful and I was excited about finding a new vet for my kitten but the vet was cold as ice and unfriendly. She didn't even introduce herself as she worked behind the plastic curtain that was only there for her and not her technicians. My kitten got very sick after his visit with a bad reaction to his shot or something that he picked up in the clinic. I would never return or recommend it to anyone. The vet was a know it all and a control freak and I still don't know her name.

Do no recommend. This is the worst place ever. The people are so rude and so unprofessional. Worst experience.

The Cat Clinic provides very thorough & somewhat professional Veterinary care , but at an overly inflated cost. The clinic is extremely profit oriented. They are not a VCA corporate clinic, but surely act like one. They will extract every dollar they can in the treatment of your cat. I will be finding a new vet clinic.

I'm so glad I found The Cat Clinic. The staff, including Dr. Cain, are so upbeat and informative. I've learned a lot about my cat, and his condition. Great place, highly recommend it!

I had a very good experience here. My cat is very overweight and the Doctors and Nurses were very good at providing me with diet options for my cat. Everyone was also very polite and professional. I’ll definitely be back.

Although I'm not able to go in at this time, the ladies are helpful and gracious as they come out to meet me in my car, retrieve and return my cat Charlie, and answer any questions I may have.

Loving, concerned and friendly atmosphere. Dr. is an excellent diagnostician, and is concerned with the welfare of the animals. The staff is friendly and helpful. In times of regular appointments, or emergencies, this is my go to vet.

Worst vet experience of my life - Cat Clinic tried to steal $600-$900 from me, and actually injured my cat. [NOTE: I subsequently learned on the CA Vet Medical Board website that this vet's license under a different name was voluntarily surrendered in December 2018 due to a violation] Lois is an extremely healthy and energetic 16-year-old cat (vets always comment that she presents as much younger). She has not been outside my home without me ever in her life. The Cat Clinic prevented me from going in the office with her "due to Covid." I was then told she was too agitated to examine and required IV sedation ($400 alone). They gave me an estimate of $1200-$1500 to examine her, payment required before the exam. When I asked the doctor what she thought the issue might be, she rattled off a list of conditions and invasive treatments that I would never put Lois through at her age. I told them to bring her back to me and sat confronting my healthy cat's sudden mortality. Then, the owner of the Clinic came out and presented a revised estimate of $750-$950 (Is this even legal?). Not sure why this wasn't the first estimate, so I have to assume they had tried to take advantage of me. Since I was desperate to learn why Lois was suffering, and it is nearly impossible to get an appointment in the Valley for a new animal, I agreed to the new estimate. Was told I would receive a call in 45 minutes. Two and a half hours later, they called to tell me they had done nothing, and it would be another 5 hours before they would be finished. I told them to bring her back to me. During this process, I spoke with 4 different people at the Clinic, all of whom gave me conflicting information. When I got Lois home, her hind legs were significantly weaker than before Cat Clinic took her from me. When I brought Lois to a different vet, she was examined with no issues (I'd given her CBD Oil - $30) and was treated for a serious UTI, which I had already figured out was the problem based on my own research. The new vet said the weakness in her legs was due to a strained pelvic ligament - which unquestionably occurred while she was being held by Cat Clinic. The entire process at the new vet took 1 hour and cost $210. Thank God I did not put Lois through the IV sedation that Cat Clinic required to examine my cat, instead of telling me they couldn't treat her - that is animal abuse. I advise avoiding this place at all costs - buyer beware.

I took my cat in about a month ago because she peed outside of her litter box and I wanted to rule out if it was a medical or behavioral issue. A positive about them is that they were able to take my cat much sooner than my cat’s regular vet or any other vets near me. The vets I spoke to were nice as well and asked a lot of questions. However, every person I spoke to kept calling my cat a He even after I corrected them. I also asked the person who brought my cat from my car to the office (restrictions due to Covid-19) to hold the carrier on the bottom, because in the past I had a (different) cat carrier collapse on the bottom while my cat was in it. The vet told me it would be fine as the carriers are strong and held the carrier just using the handle. I then spent $1,000 on a variety of tests, medication and new cat food for her. After the appointment, I got an email with a request to bring her in for more tests. I gave my cat the medicine and the new food but nothing changed. I was then able to bring her in to my regular vet about a week ago and explained the situation. The vet asked me about her litter box (covered) and type of litter (World’s Best corn clumping litter) and suggested I try an open litter box and clay clumping litter. I tried both and my cat has been peeing in her litter box since. I paid $83.00 for her regular shot updates and that was that. While I am glad that medical issues have been ruled out, I wish that this had been something that a vet at the Cat Clinic had thought to suggest in the beginning. When it comes to the expensive tests, it is probably best to get a second opinion if possible.

Please save yourself-and your pets from this place!! Below is my experience with this money-grabbing, incompetent, lying and unprofessional place called The Cat Clinic. This past June, I dropped off my 16 year-old kitty, Lola, for the first time, at the Cat Clinic in Cathedral City for a consultation regarding some dark spots on her chin. I waited inside the car at a 100-degrees weather (access to the clinic was restricted due to COVID-19 rules). A very stressed-out technician met me at the parking lot and took Lolita in insisting that I do not go anywhere and wait. 2 hours later, the clinic called me saying that Lola was ready and, instead of the $89 for the consultation, I owed them $259.23 for some “plucking and rubbing”. I did not know what that meant. But, what was I supposed to do? Deny the charges? And then what, they keep my cat? I payed the bill over the phone, still sitting in my car. Once we arrived home I could not believe my eyes! It was a total carnage! Even though I had informed them that Lolita suffered from asthma and other age-related health issues, still, they went ahead with an “acne treatment” without consulting me. Lola’s chin and mouth were shaved and bleeding. She looked so traumatized! Whatever they did to my cat caused her an immense amount of trauma and two days later she was fighting for her life in the emergency room. And do you know what the WORST part of all this is-aside from Lola’s suffering? The Cat Clinic NEVER ASKED ME FOR PERMISSION to perform such treatment. And, when I called them to talk to someone about this, three times, they hang up the phone on me. To this day, the Cat Clinic denies any wrong doing. In fact, the owner, Rebeca called the situation "COINCIDENTAL" and hang up on me. I believe any decent (and humane) veterinary center who CARES for animals would want to LEARN what happened so that something like this can be avoided in the future. A treatment that I NEVER GAVE PERMISSION TO PERFORM almost killed my kitty! After a month of intensive care Lola’s shocked body and inmune system were healed and her hair slowly grew back. Dear readers, please STAY AWAY from this place. They want your money, period. The Cat Clinic should not be operating a business involving sentient beings.

Extremely disorganized. In the middle of COVID and technician coming to my car without a mask, multiple times and then puts a mask on to go across the street to get subway....the full experience took 2.5 hours and they did not read my cats chart before meeting her and kept referring to her as the wrong sex. Really disappointing experience.

The Cat Clinic has been our go-to vet for as long as I can remember. They're always very kind, caring and compassionate no matter what reason what we're bringing our kitties in for. We've had all our pets spayed and neutered, go for regular checkups and even minor oral surgery. TLDR? They're the best. Bring your kitties here!

They are wonderful. Expensive, but that's any healthcare anymore, right? To help find the clinic: it's tucked in next to the Starbucks storefront, & the Starbucks drive-thru. They have a six foot taped no-go area at their door to warn the humans off. Current Covid Cat Clinic rules have you park outside & call their office to let them know you & your cat are there. They'll come get Fluffy in his/her carrier, & tech will take details, then doc will call you for additional info & to discuss options/meds. They can email their estimate invoice to whichever address you specify, in case you are just the cat chauffeur, & the pet parent/decision-maker is safe at home, due to quarantine. Please wear your mask! Keep everyone protected.

it was chaotic, part due to COVID 19, part due to miscommunication between myself and The Cat Clinic, part due to spouse miscommunication. I thought I'd be dropping off my cat and picking her up later, The Cat Clinic was under the impression I was going to wait for her so ended up spending an hour in my car waiting for paperwork that never came.. Bill was too high as usual and I don't think we needed the $75 Vet exam as this is the 3rd vet visit in 8 months and all we needed was a lion cut. We were hoping to get the matted hair beneath her neck removed but this didn't happen. The Cat Clinic employees did the best they could given the circumstances.

Out of the 10+ vets I’ve called no one would spare me the 5 minutes I needed to see my 8 week old kitten with an eye infection ): and I begged and cried and it was horrible. The owner of this clinic managed to get in touch with me via her friend and we talked and man ❤️ I could not appreciate you guys enough for taking the time to look at my darling daisy. The vet tech in all purple was the sweetest person alive as well (: thank to you guys for taking a look at my baby! Especially when no one else wanted to spare the time and day for her ): I really appreciate it ❤️

Wanted a little help for this lost dog. “Would your chip scanner work on a dog?” -“It would, but we won’t scan a dog; Cat Clinic.” Good looking out.

We took our cat to the clinic last week to look at an abscess on his neck. Dr. Kane said he needed surgery immediately, so she did the surgery ($2,000 est) and when i went to pick him up later that day, she told me there was an accident. One of her assistants gave my cat too much NSAID and poisoned him. They called poison control, and told me they would need to keep my cat for 48 hrs with an iv to flush out all the poison. She repeatedly told me i would not be paying for my cat's care after this accident! Of course i wasn't going to pay for them to clean up their mistakes. I think she was worried we could sue them which is a consideration. They still charged us $1,000 for the surgery. I was shocked. Of course they said this never happened before, but of course, it happened to my cat. There are no accommodations for cats to stay at the clinic, so she slept at the clinic for 2 nights tending to my cat. She did call often and gave me optimistic updates, trying to be positive as i was understandably very upset with her. Then she told me my cat was peeing all over himself because of all the fluids. Needless to say, my cat is now home, with lots of stitches, smells horrible, but hopefully will be ok. Do not go there unless it's your last option.
