Special shout-out to Edward and Stefan for making sure our Mocha was well taken care of quickly when needed in a pinch. Highly recommend this hospital for your pets veterinary care.

The doctors are excellent they do a great job with our fur kids. I do think they need to upgrade the professionalism at the service desk.

The staff and Veterinarian Scripp was great. We felt well cared for.

I try to make an appointment for my puppy with them and they are not accepting new patients. That is absurd.

I had been going to Hills vet in CV for 19 years and suddenly things changed during covid and I was left with no more of the doctors we knew and no more of the same faces we knew. They entirely changed the staff. This new thought of having to find a new vet was a scary thought. My dog and cat are my kids too! They needed the best care possible. I searched Facebook groups, nextdoor recommendations and asked many neighbors and friends where they go for their vet. Many people kept saying Companion so I nervously called and got some info. From the first call with Lorenza I was at ease. She was fabulous and answered all my questions. She was able to get us in the same week, total luck I think! When we arrived they immediately came out to the car and checked us in. Anjela was great and took us in and got info and weights. My dog is scared to death of the vet and after a few minutes she had him laying down on the table calmly!! We waited no more then 1 minute from being checked in with Anjela until the doctor came in the room. The doctor spent a long time with both of my animals. Dr. Harper very detailed in every conversation topic and explained things clearly. The procedures my pets had done were also very reasonable. What an amazing team you have. I am thrilled this is our new vet for many many years to come!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Companion just lost our business forever today. My mom's dog's fecal sample was slightly overdue because she's been on the verge of death in the hospital this month. She just regained consciousness enough yesterday to let me know I needed to submit it, so I ran it over on my lunch break. They insisted she pay another $75 because she missed the deadline, even after I explained the situation. No customer loyalty offered, no sympathy extended, just a request for more money. After using this vet since 2001, neither my mother or I will ever go back. Plus they're just weird. BYE!

Very good vet Fair pricing

My two Pomeranians have been clients of Companion Animal for over 12 years. In that time the practice has grown from one to several vets and many techs. They have helped manage medical issues with my dogs from the minor to the severe and I wholeheartedly recommend CVCAH.

They are working really hard during the pandemic to make everyone's experience positive and are giving your pet wonderful attention and care.

Great vet that really takes the time to listen and provide comprehensive care. Not the cheapest, but you know your animals will be well taken care of.

Theres a new veterinarian Kirsten Krick, I really like her she explains everything to you so you can understand it. My dog just loves her and feel comfortable with her. every time I have to take my pit bull Sacha I will be asking for Kirsten Krick.

Dr. B. Is as warm and fuzzy as her patients! She's taken excellent care of our senior cat. We've been coming to Castro Valley Companion Animal hospital for many years. Highly recommend.

Very helpful and honest staff, they were able to fit me in for a last minute appt. Also, I thought I was going to lose my K9, but with some blood tests done, they were able to diagnose and prescribe the correct medication which turned my dog's life around.

They treat my pets like they were there own.❤

Fantastic. The doctors actually came out and talked to us face to face where as others make us wait and call. Much more personal then a phone call oluss everything they did was with a reason not just to take your money like some other places I've been to. Cough cough sage animal hospital. Would highly recommend to anyone any day anytime. Don't hesitate.

There is no other vet that I can think of that would be so accommodating and helpful. I am so relieved and happy to have found companion. I am having some issues with my puppy and I had her evaluated and treated by Dr Harper. I was having a few concerns about her treatment and medication and Dr Harper called me within a few hours to discuss all of my concerns thoroughly and put me at ease. She even had a partner veterinarian email me an article on the health issue that my puppy is suffering from. Honestly above and beyond. The staff couldn’t be more warm and loving to the animals in their care. I am so grateful to have found this vet! After a very mediocre visit at Castro valley animal hospital that left me feeling like it was a get rich quick scheme or a bait and switch type of thing, I’m so happy to have a polar opposite experience at companion. The first place wanted me to prepay for all of my puppies treatment and I was inclined to keep going because I’d already paid for some of the treatment. I just couldn’t bring myself to go back. Anyhow, thanks so much for putting me at ease, and for caring for Rosie so well.

I’m a huge fan of Dr. Gandolfi. I’ve only knew him for less than a year yet, but he has been really caring of my pet. I can feel that he has so much of experiences with pets, and his suggestions seems working well so far. And plus, he definitely answers all my questions thru emails as well (even they are really long messages!) It’s super easy to contact him thru emails. I just don’t know how thankful i am that my pet is one of his clients. He really cares. He doesn’t give up on us. He would try to comfort me and my pet. So many ways, I’m really thankful.

All the vets and technicians and other staff very knowledgeable and friendly. They work with a variety of pets: dogs, cats, birds, small animals... I have found them to be more reasonably priced than other vets. Easy to get appointment. Very caring and compassionate. Really listen to the pet parent. They still have Dr. Gandolfi with them, who works with traditional and alternative treatments. I've been using this vet for several years. They became my preferred vet after another well-known vet nearly killed my cat. This vet saved his life! There's even free coffee and a Clean bathroom! They do not smell like so many vets do...smells clean - not deodorized covering urine smells.

Dr B and the entire staff are friendly and just a great bunch. They have the pet's best interest at heart.

This place is really predatory. We walked In today to purchase some flea and heartworm medicine for our dogs. We’re new to the area and we are shopping around for a vet and the place looked small and friendly. The woman at the front desk when we got there around 9:30am was totally nasty and rude. She refused to sell us the medicine for our dogs without us bringing them in for a visit they didn’t need, even though she had access to our vet records. Why the hell would I put my dogs, who hate the vet through the discomfort of an extra visit they don’t need? And why should I pay for a vet visit they don’t need just so I can get some flea medicine? Clearly they don’t care about people’s pets and they just want as much of your money as they can get.

Best vet ever! And there are a lot of great vets out there. The whole team here is so amazingly sweet from reception to the assistant to the vet. Our 5 pound Thor needed to visit for some itchy skin. Kim was so amazing (as was the young lady helping her - but I didn't get her name unfortunately)! She was extraordinarily thoughtful with Thor and with all of my questions. Absolutely the epitome of kind and caring!

Dr B is compassionate and really cares for the well being of my 2 Shih Tzus. Just wish that there was a more holistic approach towards their overall health. Friendly and caring staff and clean organized clinic.
