I've been going here for a few years. Wonderful people. I always feel welcome. I own a reptile, other places refused to see him. The doctor was very knowledgeable, and awesome to talk with. Fast, attentive, and friendly. Nothing but smiles. Thank you!!! Kaa, recommends for all your reptiles.

Such an amazing little vet hospital. Everyone in there is so kind and so awesome. We see the exotic doctor and even their littlest patients are treated with just as big of love. Highly recommended!!! Love, Jaime Ashley and little Thea ❤

I had a hard time finding a place that did bully ear cropping and this place was amazing. Well worth the 4 hour drive. The staff was very friendly and the office was clean. Pumpkin Spice was well taken care of.

Don't be fooled if you have birds. I was a customer before. My young Conure got sick this morning so I called to see if the doc would PLEASE just look at him as I had no one else to turn to. Any one with birds in Carson City know this. I was told "she doesn't look at birds in emergency situations". I called back BEGGING thinking she would be compassionate and offer SOMETHING so we could at least felt we TRIED. Nope. Nothing but excuses. You are a vet, right? My little Billy died in my arms after being perfectly fine not 5 minutes before I heard his chirps....I had about an hour with him. Maybe he could have been helped...I will never know. Don't go here. --Misty Johansen

3/11/2021 To: The Quail Ridge Animal Hospital Team Not too long ago I scheduled an urgent appointment with Quail Ridge Animal Hospital to have our family hamster Gus examined by one of your doctors. He was treated that day for an abscess but would shortly be euthanized days later. Up until this point I had only taken dogs and cats to the vet, so having a hamster treated by a vet was unusual for me. When I arrived to drop our family pet off to you guys the whole place was under renovation, the receptionists’ were down to one computer and clients were arriving for appointments. Later that afternoon I picked up my sweet Gus(hamster) who was sent home with meds and a treatment plan. Sadly, seven days later, he would need help passing. The day he passed; I was offered some time to say my goodbyes in a private room. Much to my surprise as I was led to a small room hidden away behind medical equipment, an x-ray machine, and medical grade crates I soon realized how small a hospital Quail Ridge actually is. I was even more touched when I realized that the room I had been taken too was not necessarily in use at the time. Dr. Hewitt was so incredibly empathetic to my situation and was about to give me time with my pet when I realized that my pet needed relief immediately. I was then taken back to the front desk to sign all the necessary documents needed to perform the euthanasia procedure on Gus. Feeling frantic I gave my verbal consent to Dr. Hewitt to perform the procedure sooner than the process of filling out forms would allow. Shortly after I was brought back to see my pet and as sad as it was the doctor and vet tech assured me that they did their best to comfort him on his way out. The experience of witnessing and having to put down a suffering animal was a first for me and it was a sad day. However, I was in awe to experience a team of people doing all they could for such a small animal. I was impressed by the receptionists’ that helped me. They treated me with cheerful attitudes and patience when they were clearly under a little pressure. So often I have experienced bad attitudes and lack of professionalism by people who deal with the public. All in all, I just wanted to thank Dr. Hewitt and the Quail Ridge crew for making time for me and my family, when you did not have time. For making space, when there was none. For exhibiting patience and kindness under pressure and for the immense care and time you give each and every one of your patients. Our community is so fortunate to have people that care so much for all life. More communities need what Quail Ridge has to offer animals. Sincerely, Joedee Gonzales and family-D.J., Keala, Sammy(the humans) Capone, Pudge, Lilo, Rudy, Gus R.I.P. (the fur babies)

They were very nice, however, They over charge. I have spent thousands of dollars there, they never fixed any of my dogs issues. He had acl surgery that was unsuccessful. I went back because his leg was still bothering him. They charged me another almost 500 dollars to do nothing. I have compared prices at other vets, this place way over charges. I cannot believe how much they have charged me throughout the years. Will not go back. Ever.

They are very good with pets. My dog is still scared, but what dog isn't scared of the vet? They take excellent care of the animals and the staff are always pleasant

I'm one of the most demanding veterinary clients in the country since I work with exotic animals, particularly wolves. Lesli and her team are remarkable. They've cured my malamute's limp with stem cells and PRP, repaired a folding fracture to one of my wolves' hips, and Dr. Hewitt handles my most challenging animal, a female wolf, with the skill of a wilderness technician. I spend over $20,000 per year just on the preventative care for my animals. I could go anywhere (and have) to make sure my canine family gets the absolute premium treatment at every turn. While I live in Tahoe, I gladly make the drive to Carson City to see the amazing people at Quail Ridge. If Dr. Hewitt were an MD, she'd be my physician. I love these people. They're simply the best dog-repair shop in the country!
