I took my previous golden retriever one day when we could tell there wasn't something right. Unfortunately my dog had a tumor we were unaware of and passed a few days later. Although it was extremely hard for my family and I, we were so grateful that we found Dr. Forbes for his final few days. We had been to multiple veternarians and hospitals and he never liked it. We could tell by her calm presence, he was calm and when we brought him back a few days later to end his suffering, she spoke to us on the process and was so calm even though we were a mess and it was so comforting, I'll never forget that experience. After that, my family adopted a new puppy and has been taking her to Dr. Massenzio. They absolutely adore her and we know they take great care of her. I recently got married and adopted a new dog from the pound and brought him to Dr. Forbes. He was a bit fearful as he was also new to my home but I could tell he felt their energy and just went with it. And when we got him back to the car he didn't seem like he was ready to run out of there. Just calm. Both doctors are amazing, highly recommend to anyone I know to bring their pet here.

They really care about your pet. I moved to a different county and had to change vets. When my dog got sick I couldn't get him in anywhere, not even his own vet. Dr. Forbes saw him the same morning I called. I will drive to Brea Vet from now on.

I called on a Sunday hoping to get a call back about my dog's bleeding mouth. To this day no return call.

I am truly thankful for Brea Vet. These people really care about your pets like they are theirs and they will take you in short notice in case of emergencies. The doctors are kind and knowledgeable. My personal favorite is Dr. Forbes. She is patient and kind. All of the staff here are kind, patient, and professional and you can make appointments so you can avoid the wait that you would have at other pet clinics. Billie Jean and Charlotte love Dr. Forbes!

I recently brought in my puppy Jojo for her first and second visits here.Everyone here was wonderful, kind and professional. I was referred by my brother and it’s been such a nice comfort to have a vet I can trust as a first time pet owner.

Both Vets are excellent. I originally went to Brea Vet because they are open 7 days a week. It seemed my dog always needed a Vet on a Sunday. Entire staff are professional and courteous. The Vet or staff does follow-up calls a few days after an appointment. My cat is also a patient.

I commute 40 miles to have my dogs cared for by Dr. Forbes.

My dog was injured at home. My usual vet could not see him so I called Brea Vet and they saw him immediately. Very pleased with the care he has received. They have called twice to see how he was doing.

They saved my baby!! My senior dog was not doing well. I called my regular vet on a Monday and they told me that they could only see him on Friday. I told them that he needs to be seen sooner as he is sick. They told me that I can call an other vet. That is what I did. A call Brea Vet and they said to bring him in as a clinic appointment it is at a higher cost. I am so glad that I did. The wait was not too long. The did some blood test and found that he is a diabetic and started on medication. He is much better. The doctors follow up with him. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Explain everything that is going on with my dog. I can't wait for Covid to be over so I can actually meet the doctors.

I love both of the Dr's and their staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It's great they are open 7 days a week. Would definitely recommend!

I can't say enough good things about Brea Vet, I have been going there for many years and the care they have shown is extraordinary, I have three dogs and a cat at this time and I know that they are receiving the very best care.

We no longer recommend Dr. Forbes or brea vet hospital. While we understand that Covid-19 has added pressure for the vets as well as the pet parents, something much more serious seems to have changed about the clinic in 2020. The place seems much different than before in many ways that are difficult to describe here. The warmth and caring doesn't seem to be there anymore. After being clients of Brea Vet and Dr Forbes for approximately 15 years with 2 previous pets, they know us, but they breeched our trust in September/October, 2020. It's disappointing that we can't trust them anymore and our last three visits there with our pets have not been the same as previous ones. On a recent visit (with charges well over $500) Dr Messensio sent us home with (and charged us for) pet meds that we would never have approved if they'd been explained clearly. She would not let us return the meds. Also, she spoke to us unprofessionally and in a condescending tone but we let that slide, even despite being suspicious of the overall handling and charges for that visit. Then, in the next visit, Dr Forbes recommended expensive lab work and tests on our pet due to an alleged heart murmur. Having already been disappointed by the result of our most recent visits there, we chose to move-on to a different vet. We are now truly glad we changed vets because two other vets have since examined our pet and found no indication at all of a heart murmur. Our pets are our family and when trust is breeched and compassion lacking we cannot recommend them and we rescind any previous positive reviews we gave brea vet hospital in previous years.

I wanted to find the best vet in my area for my newly adopted puppy. I'm so glad I found one that is close to home and the staff here is amazing. Getting appointments is easier than I thought and they even remind me of my upcoming appointments in case I forget. The staff here has been incredibly helpful, kind and have a great sense of humor too. They treat my puppy with care, and I can see that they really enjoy what they do. Dr. M is also very helpful and gives a lot of really great advice. She is very patient with my many questions, and has a warm personality. I won't be going to any other vet than her. I'm really happy I found you guys! Thank you for taking such good care of us.

Friendly staff, great Dr's that always call to follow up on how procedures went. Sound curb side drop off right now which is very convenient!

This place is amazing. The doctors and staff really care about animals. They are very friendly and knowledgeable. The office is clean and the prices are great. They are even open weekends, which is great because I work during the week. If you love your pets and want the best care...this is the place to go.

Dr. Allison is amazing! We brought in our dog for annual vaccines, and she is very thorough in making sure she asks about ALL aspects of his health. The entire staff is so friendly, accommodating, and make us feel like our pet is their only client!

I hate buying shoes...I have horrible feet, very difficult to fit.Somtimes I think they hate to see me walk in the door. But today I walked out in 15min. With two pairs of shoes!! Thanks Erica! You were great! ...Diane

Didn't seem to care about my situation- receptionist seemed a bit cold-glad my cat puked there

First off read the reviews on Yelp before bringing your pet to this place as they have a more realistic perspective as to what goes on here. I took my Pembroke welsh corgi here to get neutered and immediately after surgery he began experiencing diarrhea. I figured this was due to the pain killers or the off coming of the anesthesia which is normal but as the days went on it began getting worse and worse to the point he couldn't even hold down water and was pooping straight blood. Because of this I had to spend over $1,000 to take him to the ER because they were closed on Easter (go figure) and would have had to spend another $700 for X Rays and other costs to find the diagnosis of the problem. Of course I couldn't afford that so I just payed to have him treated and taken care of, luckily whatever they gave him worked and he was back to good health. Afterwards when Dr. Massenzio called (probably to try and get more of my money) I explained to her what happened and just got a "Huh that's weird" and a "I'm Sorry" afterwards offering my corgi a free examination (I don't even know what for like no way she's going to give me free x rays) I refused and talked to my dad who's a med tech. He explained to me she probably nicked my dogs intestines during the surgery which would be a reasonable explanation for the bleeding. I should add the prices here are ridiculous but so is everything in Orange County. Just don't go here and read the reviews on yelp/facebook. Apparently they let someones dog get ran over.

That's exactly what you're going to find at Brea Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Massenzio and Dr. Forbes are very knowledgeable, and extremely caring. The staff is just as caring. Honestly, this is some odd the best care your pets can get.
