Came in with my two healthy dogs for a regular heart worm pill prescribing and was charged over $700. Later, I needed proof of vaccines for holiday travel and I asked BHSAH to send them over, i had to follow up 3 separate times, they had me drive all the way in (wouldn’t email it), and then charged me $150 for a single sheet of paper confirming they were up to date on vaccines. Literal absurdity, huge rip off.

A "wellness" exam aka a normal routine exam costs $73 for a cat and you have to pay an Osha Biohazard fee of $6 that was set up during the pandemic on top. They raised their fees for their routine exam $12 compared to last year. Annual vaccination fees are clearly far over the LA average as they charge a very high doctor's fee. Plus the diagnostics are quite poor. They were not able to treat an ear infection of my cat this year... telling me it would a be a permanent condition with requiring the cat to come in every other month for medication. Together with my German vet Dr. Vogler in Bremerhaven we were able to diagnose the type of bacteria involved and I was prescribed medication that cured my cat completely. Summing up: If you care about a vet at a prominent location that cares more about your credit card when your well-being of your cat, you should go there. Otherwise please make a difference and go to a vet that really cares and is reasonable priced.

Dr Winters is truly a standout veterinarian physician on the west side. He is very knowledgeable about animal medicine, extremely friendly, and has very reasonable prices for Los Angeles. They have continued to offer drive up service for patients due to COVID precautions and their staff have been very fast and courteous when getting the pups from the car.

Absolutely phenomenal veterinary hospital. My dog Waldo had a large growth that needed removal. Our former vet told us that he'd need full anesthesia and the procedure would cost $1400, not even including biopsy and meds. Waldo is 9 and I was terrified to put him under full anesthesia, knowing how risky this can be, so we avoided surgery. The growth continued to increase in size so we got a second opinion from Dr. Winters, who said his partner (the surgeon) could have Waldo in & out of the procedure in a half hour, with just local anesthesia. We booked right away! He was able to have the growth removed a few weeks later, which was yesterday. The procedure took about 12 minutes total! Waldo came out in great spirits, as if nothing had happened. He ran out so happy, it was hilarious. The surgical assistants and vet techs were so sweet and kind, and took the time to explain everything so well. He came home and ate, drank, slept and even went on a walk with no issues or pain at all. The incision looks clean and precise and is already healing beautifully one day later. And get this - the total cost, including procedure, meds, biopsy, cone and (complimentary) nail trim was less than 1/3 the price that the other vet had quoted us, for a total of $445! I am so happy that we found this clinic, this will be our new family veterinary hospital.

AVOID BEVERLY HILLS SMALL ANIMAL HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS. I brought my dog in last year after we adopted him for a regular check-up and to make sure his shots were up-to-date. After that initial appointment, we have never been able to get him seen in a timely fashion in urgent or emergency situations even though they supposedly have daytime emergency services and send dozens of reminder emails. When I thought my dog had an infection, I called and asked to speak to the vet who saw him at his initial appointment. The vet (Dr. Suehiro) called me back and started going over the information about a dog that has cancer. I was horrified! He then realized he had the wrong patient and was quick to get me off the phone. I called again today with a concern hoping to get my dog in for an emergency appointment during the daytime, and only after pressing the receptionist was I offered a phone number where I could text in a photo of the problem and 'maybe' a tech could try to diagnose it. When I explained how frustrating it is to get dozens of emails reminding me to bring my dog in but never have appointments available when they are needed, I was told I was not a celebrity and that "we have lots of high priority clients." Well, this is Beverly Hills after all... Needless to say, we'll be taking our dog elsewhere.

Despite my parents bringing our family pets here for years when it was owned by Dr. Keagy, the current doctor owners recently banned me when I questioned the pricing and why the technicians were available for communication, not a doctor. Prior to this incident, I took my sick, suffering dog here years ago. One of the doctors coldly said my dog looked like he was dying. He told a tech to put my dog in my car. Later that evening, I SLEPT IN MY CAR WITH MY SUFFERING DOG IN THE VET PARKING LOT. I took my dog to the vet when it opened in the morning. MINUTES LATER, MY DOG WAS DEAD!!! I REPORTED THE DOCTOR AND THE HORRIBLE INCIDENT TO THE VETERINARY BOARD, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE. :(

This place is a Godsend! 3 big dogs are a lot of work, and for years we were traumatized by the awful practices of the VCA conglomerate machine! They are worse than used car salesman as most who have gone there know...then we stumbled upon this BH secret. What a wonderful, caring, professional operation! We lost one of our Huskies, and despite the saddness and pain we went through the other day...Dr. William couldnt have handled the situation with more dignity or compassion. Its a real gem, run the way a vet hospital should be, by people who actually care about animals, not just how much you will spend!

We've been with Dr. Winters with our 2 dogs for over 10 years. Hands-down the best vet in LA County!
