Stiern Veterinary Hospital Bakersfield, California

I’ve been bringing my pets to Stiern Veterinary Hospital for decades & will happily, gratefully continue doing so! We LOVE Dr. Rakow! She has always shown such patience, love & compassion for us & every animal we’ve brought in for routine and/or urgent care. The staff is great, too! When I called to schedule, all Dr’s. were booked for weeks in advance. They scheduled our future appointment & put us on the wait list, should they have any cancellations and an earlier appointment became available. I got a call, later the same day, and my Cat was able to see Dr. Rakow the next morning! It was such a relief for me, not having to wait weeks for care! I’d have waited, because going somewhere else for care was not a choice I’d make, unless receiving care became an emergency!

They take the time to really listen to your concerns and they take their time to do a proper exam. We never wait long to be seen or wait for results. The staff is really friendly with me as well as my dogs.

They are absolutely wonderful as always. The girls that come out to pick up and bring the dogs are always happy and friendly. It's almost like chatting with a friend. Happy to help you out with anything you need. I started out here over 55 years ago. Now that I've returned to Bakersfield I selected them again and I'm not sorry at all!

Love the staff. Mallisa, Sally, Kendall, Dr. Bollier and Dr. Nicole. I’m sure I’m missing some staff because they’re all very kind and attentive. I have always felt that they care very much for my pets. Very knowledgeable and professional. Thank you Stierns.

Helpful with 5 4-week old pups & mom check up! Very nice because these were my neighbors pets.

I took my guinea pigs in for a check up and a nail trim. She was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. She also shared a wealth of information that I didn't know.

They are truly the best! They have helped me out every single time I need a last minute appointment which is so appreciated given that it means I don’t have to take my pups to the emergency vet clinic. They are so thorough and they always treat my babies with so much love and care. I wouldn’t want to take my babies anywhere else!!

Even tho they violate u with no lube financially.... they can see u 24 hours a day and alot of places won't see you as a walk in Even during the week n business hours. I feel like there's a conspiracy to make this place rich because literally nowhere in town would see mycat. But even though they hit my pockets hard.... they provide quality care and staff is top notch.... so I have a hard time being mad

Dr. Pauldin and Dr. Raclaw have been our vets for quite some time. They love our dogs and are so good with them. When my dog had to have an emergency C-section it was closing time and they asked for volunteers to stay and help. The girls stepped up and they were able to save 5 of our litter! Those techs in the office are pretty dang awesome too!!!

All the staff are so nice, and have taken great care of my furbabies.

I can’t say enough good things about these ladies on staff. I’ve worked in the vet industry and I have high standards and these ladies were amazing. I love how prompt they are and how polite they are. They answered all my questions and concerns. They spoiled the two strays I recently found and had spayed. The pups are doing wonderful and I’m so thankful for all the care they gave them. I also am very appreciative that this vet offers pain medication in two ways for spays the first is a 24 shot and two is take home medication. After surgery I want pain meds so I appreciate that I can get the same for my pets. Surgery hurts! So to sum it up this vet office is wonderful and I will be recommending them to everyone who will listen.

Have been going here for over 16 years and every visit is a great experience. The staff is always great and i always feel like they genuenly care about my pets. Yes, cost can get a little pricy at times but they have always given me options and go over cost before my visit..

Absolutely Appreciate Dr. Rakow, she is a amazing Veterinarian and a wonderful person with a heart of gold. She has always been there for my pets. You don’t find that in most Veterinarian facilities. You are just a number. W.Higgins

I was very anxious about switching veterinarian services since our regular clinic closed. Our old vet referred this office as her top of the list! We were made to feel very welcomed during our first well cat visit. My pet was welcomed with no stress involved on any level. He was an angel at this visit, and I am looking forward to continuing his visits with such ease. They treat you like family here????

My fur babies have been patients at Stiern Vet Hospital since I was a child and have continued bringing my babies since. ( over 60 years)Dr Bollier and Dr Rako have gone above and beyond to take care of them. From simple check ups and vaccinations to various surgeries, they’re caring and experience are exemplary. They referred me to cancer specialist and orthopedic specialist that we’re all excellent doctors. I also worked with Dr Rako on the SPCA board. Her love and compassion for animals is amazing. I can say the same for Dr Bollier. The staff throughout the years have always been friendly and have genuine concern for their patients and parents. I absolutely recommend Stiern Veterinary Hospital for all your fur babies needs.

Be sure you don't mind liars doing your pet medical care. I was on the phone 30 minutes while a staff coached and trained a new receptionist how to do NEW client intake forms. Several of my pets were booked appointments. One needs a refill! Several days later, yesterday, I get a call from a female, mumbling her name, that golly shucks they are not taking new patients! WHAT!!!! Use me for free to do training, then CANCEL my appointments? My cat will run out of meds! Cat abusers in white coats. Oh, and the "office manager" was supposed to call me. Never did. More lying. This place needs to be closed down. I will be picketing to warn the public.

My pup had to have his teeth cleaned and some pulled. Such a caring office, assistant and the vet was marvelous!

This was our second visit here with our new puppy. We had the pleasure of seeing Dr Zaleski both times. She's patient and knowledgeable, and takes time making sure all of our questions are answered and any concerns we have are discussed. Malissa was our vet tech, she was super nice and our puppy responded well to her. The front office staff was wonderful and professional as well. We are happy with the care our we received.

I just went to Stiern Veterinary Hospital for the first time with one of my dogs and had the absolute BEST experience!! From the time I called to set my appointment, their staff was extremely professional, kind, helpful, and reassuring. The actual visit itself was a breeze as the vet tech came straight to my car and handled my pup with care, the vet called me from the office while I was able to wait in my car and ask questions. All in all, highly recommend this office for your pets needs!

Amazing employee's and Fur Doctors. I do not see myself taking my Dogs or any animal any where else

My regular vet isn't taking any new patients, so brought my new puppy here. DOS 9/1/2021. Took baby for exam and vaccinations. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Saw a young female doctor who was very pleasant and dewormed my baby for free. Would highly recommend!

Took good care of my puppy. Gave shots and a check up. Really friendly.

They were able to take car of my dog Simon on an emergency basis. The Vet called me and explained all the options for care, and then was very positive with my choice. Not only did they give me written post surgery care, but the Vet also sent me a text with care details. The staff is excellent and caring. Costs are reasonable and they provide overnight boarding if necessary. Their clinic is easy to get to right at Union and HWY178.

Very good experience! My first vet visit with my bearded dragon and the vet was very informative and helpful. Staff was very nice and I was in and out in about 30min. Very fast and reasonably priced, I will definitely be using them again!

Charlie is very well taken care of by Dr. Paulden. She is as sweet as can be and listens to me and treats me like she values my concerns. :)

Call for appointment. Call from a numbered space in the parking lot, give your pet to the attendant when they come out to your car.

The staff there do their best during this tying times. I was able to go in with.my new puppy and the Dr is beyond good. She answers all my concerns. Next day I got his test results. They don't leave u hanging there. I'm glad my dogs go there and beyond blessed that they have such a great Dr.
