North Fork Veterinary Clinic Auburn, California

I've been going to North Fork at least 30 years and Dr Sheriff better not retire!! Just had 10 year old cat have his thyroid removed which is a very precise surgery and Dr Sheriff did an awesome job and cat recovered quickly.

On Saturday I brought my senior dog in to have some blood work done to make sure it was safe for him to undergo anesthesia for his upcoming dental appt. After the blood was drawn, I was told they would email me the dental quote shortly, and there was no need for me to stay and wait. Quickly after leaving, I realized I forgot to mention I wanted to get him neutered as well so I called back and asked the front desk to have that added to the quote.. Saturday evening came around and I realized I never received the quote, no big deal though, figured id give them a call today (Monday) to follow-up. When I called this morning, the gentleman at the front desk answered the phone, asked me to verify my email, and we hung up. After over an hour, I still had not received it. so I called back. This time, a woman answered, with a very poor attitude as if I was inconveniencing her by having to take my call. I explained I still had not received the email and gave an alternate email just in case it was an issue on my end. After she took my email, I asked her how long I should wait before calling back again if I didn't receive it. Her response very rudely was GIVE ME FIVE MINUTES! in which I replied "okay thank you" and heard the phone click.. she had hung-up. After waiting another 35 minutes and still not receiving the quote I called again. This time her attitude was even worse, same thing. We went over my email yet again and I asked to leave a message for the doctor to call me. By this point, I was pretty fed up and wanted to talk to the doctor directly. She responded by telling me "The doctors here don't do that, they don't have the time. But I can take your name and number and leave a note" I gave her my name and my number and she asked what the call was regarding so I openly told her I was fed up and was dissatisfied with the service I had been receiving that morning... all of a sudden I was being attacked because I "had called sooo many times on Saturday and today" (I literally called ONE time on Saturday as previously mentioned). I expressed that it was not my fault the emails weren't coming through, and the disrespect I was receiving made me not want to bring my pet there. Her response was "well then maybe you should find a new vet" So that's what I did. Requested a copy of his bloodwork and will never be returning to this office again. This is a vet my whole family has been taking our dogs to since we moved to the area many years ago. This is a high stress situation for me having my 11 year old dog undergo the biggest surgery he's ever needed and it was extremely upsetting being treated this way when I am already so anxious. Considering most of the phone contact is done with the front desk staff, and not the doctors themselves, it is very unfortunate that the negative impact is reflecting on the office as a whole. Hopefully no one else ever experiences the complete disrespect I received today.

By far the best Veterinary Clinic! The staff are polite , professional and you can tell they really care about all the animals. I have never met Dr. Sheriff, but by the way the clinic was designed and maintained shows they do it right!!! Thank you all ^..^

Dr Sheriff has been taking care of my animals for 15 years. He and his staff are top notch.

I was referred here from a friend that has been using this place for a few years. Unfortunately, ive had a few bad experiences here. The vets overall were ok but it definitely depends on what vet you get and how busy they are. Some of the office staff seem incredibly busy and come off as rude. My last visit was by far the worst the office admin showed a lack of compassion, understanding, and overall customer service. I was told that a manager would reach out to me the following week and unfortunately no one ever did. The best service they provided was referring us out to another vet. Having dealt with many different vets, due to relocating, this is by far the worst overall experience i have had.

So pleased with Dr Marrs. She is full of helpful information.

Absolutely amazing. We have 4 dogs, 4 cats, a parrot, 2 ferrets. They take care of all of them!! High recommend!!

Most amazing welcoming vet in the world. We love them take such wonderful care of our 2 Rottweilers and small dog. Always able to help on short notice and staff are above and beyond friendly. It’s a beautiful place with life saving team of people. Don’t know what we would do with our them. We love you North Fork. Thank you for all you do for our community and our fur family!

Dr. Sheriff and staff are hands down the most amazing vet clinic . Dr . Sheriff is so knowledgeable and does an amazing job of including the owners during the whole process. I was even allowed to attend the actual ultrasound of my pit bull. Recently my beloved Pit Sprocket became ill and I had to use an alternative vet due to NorthFork being booked. I was told my dog had cancer and take him home to die . When my dog started getting better then worse then better I called and was able to get in to see Dr.Sheriff. Not only did he guess the problem prior to the ultra sound, let me attend the ultra sound he also gave me a discount on the ultra sound that the other vet was trying to charge 500.00 . I paid less than 50 bucks for the ultrasound. Dr . Sheriff was able to determine my pit was dieing yes but had a HUGE chance of living with surgery. He squeezed me in the following morning and now my pit is expected to live and fully recover . I went from planning his euthanasia to celebrating being able to have more summers together. The doctor has also made a house call to euthanize my other beloved dog when her time came. We had taken her to him and he discovered she had cancer and then only charged me for the exam and not the other tests his staff performed . I will NEVER go to any other clinic as long as they are in business and I HIGHLY recommend this facility. He is a true lover of animals and has compassion and understanding for financial difficulties . I can see why he has been voted best of the best - they are the best !! Thank you to NorthFork vet - u all are such a blessing !

I know a lot of people are wanting a good Veterinarian for their pets now since Colfax Veterinary has closed. We had to take our big dog Katie to see a Veterinarian yesterday morning, and Northfork Veterinary was recommended. Our experience was over the top! Our girl is getting old and crippled. She's a very large heavy girl and losing her ability to use her hind legs. The doctor that examined her was right down on the floor with her. Dr Chandler throughly went over her findings with us, and offered us different recommendations to proceed with Katie's care. A very large tumor was discovered with limited odds of a successful surgery, so we are choosing to treat her with pain management and possibly laser treatments. There was no pushing to do any procedures that may not be beneficial in the long run. We were not made to feel guilty for having to limit our choices of care. Having worked with veterinarians professionally, I can't proclaim enough how comfortable she made us and our pet feel. Please consider Northfork Veterinary for your pets full spectrum needs. I wish i could go her with my dogs ???????? This place is truly amazing. In September we had to have the lower front of our dogs (Eva) jaw removed she had bone cancer and this last week had to have our other dogs (Raider)tail dock because of a tumor.... They made us feel so comfortable with both situations and we knew they were doing there best to care for our fur babies and didn't charge us an arm and leg ether.... just a jaw and tail ???????? We have found or forever vet ????❤❤❤ Thank You North Fork Staff And HUGE Thank you to DR. Sicily your absolutely amazing vet and a bada** at your job Thank you!!!!!

At North Fork, everyone acted genuinely excited when I brought my guinea pig in for care. He was like a celebrity there. I truly got the sense that they cared about my pet's health as much as I did. Dr. Curtis is friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this vet clinic.

Very good people. My Vet was very willing to watch and wait and not just go for an expensive treatment, very understanding.

My family has been using this vet for years. They are great. Prices are reasonable, staff is caring and compassionate (even to us crazy pet parents). Even the other clients have always been great. They have never tried to force an unnecessary treatment & have suggested options, especially when cost is a factor.

This place is only out for them self they tell you the most expensive treatment. Don't mention the other more affordable ones until after there first suggestion fails . Oh yeah and after they've already stuck you with a major bill for unnecessary procedures and the wrong treatment. They want me to bring my animal a member of my family back to them, so they can what guess again I'm sorry I think not. The vet has lost my trust and I hope others don't fall victim to there lies. Don't believe there judgment please bring your animal for a second opinion.

Best clinic ever! 20+ years as a customer/(family member)-they treat you like family- and even after moving from Auburn, drive to this amazing Vet Clinic-as they do what's best for your dog-ALWAYS! They also make choices as if it was their pet and keep expenses down. Love all the Veterinarians and office staff- from the WOOF factor we would give them a 10+

My dog had an injury that we didn't notice for about a week. By the time we got her in there, it was infected and gross. Dr. Sherriff was so kind and helpful. Her follow-up care was kind of intense, but the staff lovingly answered all my calls and checked on her when I brought her in with more questions. I love this vet and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I don't write many reviews, you either got to make me mad or make me really happy. Went there about 7 months ago and was greeted by the people who work there with genuine niceness. So far so good, took wife's cat in to be fixed and then for boarding twice. Every experience was perfect. My cat wasn't ( was NOT) freaked out upon picking him up, he was totally cool. We love this place. I will drive 20+ miles out of my 5 way to come here over anywhere else. Good job!!

I had an emergency with one of my service pets biting through his lip- i went to North fork vet as a walk in-my dog had the,best care ever, they even lanced a sore that i didn't know about- low cost excellent service & care. these people really love animals. five stars plus...

Hands down, the best vet clinic in Auburn! The staff is caring and well trained! They kept my Chocolate Lab in top shape for may years!

I have had several vets over the last 40 years as a dog and cat owner. Dr. Sheriff and his staff are the best ever hands down. He loves the animals, is practical and caring. The new facility is spotless and the staff there are great. It's obviously a great place to work as it shows in the attitude of the employees. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else!

I just switched after 20 years with my vet to Northfork for convenience. I was happy with my former vet but, after moving, it was getting too hard to get there. I find Northfork to be caring and efficient. I will trust them with my 3 dogs and cats.
