Needed to be seen for some medication for a small rash I was having. Was told a couple of people were ahead of me, but after a while the building was empty. Sitting there waiting with nobody in the building. Finally couldn't take it anymore and just got up and left. If you don't have an appointment, don't expect to be seen. But after reading the reviews it seems even with an appointment it would take forever. Better off if I just went to Rite Aid or Walgreens to pay for some medicine out of pocket. At least the service would be quicker. Wasted a good couple of hours for nothing. Thanks again VA for the excellent health care service you provide. ????

Get ready to wait. You get there early just to have people pass you and you just wait there hoping to be seen on time. It's unfortunate and understandable why veterans despise the VA.

Best services for veteran. Can't complain.

The Doctors there are more worried about their career, than the Vet who needs the care. Promised by the American people.

Due to the actions of the office staff, I now go to Kaiser instead. I have nothing but praise for the doctors at this location.

Appointment time doesn't mean anything to them.

They never pick up the phone. California laws on medications are BS. The VA is garbage.

Although this VA medical clinic is a bit far from where I live, I'm very glad I came for my eye-exam; nice location, nice architecture, nice professional personnel, nice up-to-date facilities and technology to give best possible care.

I have nothing but praise for ALL of the staff at this Clinic. The security guard was the first person that I came into contact with and he was very helpful in securing my bicycle and even tracked down a charger cable for me so that I could recharge my cell phone while I was there. I have been greeted by three different front desk personnel in my three visits so far, and all of them have engaged me in friendly conversations while checking me in and on my way out. While waiting in the reception area several personnel including nurses asked me how I was doing and shared their smiles and words of encouragement. Nurse Jennifer was very thorough, professional, helpful and friendly while taking my vitals and inducting my into this Clinic. My Dr., Dr Nguyen took the time to listen to all of my concerns and she was very thorough, professional, helpful, and friendly also. I have every confidence in her abilities to be one of the best Dr.’s that I have ever had. This clinic makes me feel like I am part of the family and I couldn’t possibly ask for a better Medical Clinic to call home.

Sometimes this place is good and sometimes this place is bad. The service i get when i am finally seen is great. The making of an appointment is horrible. They are understaffed. But it's not there fault. It's the Va itself.

How do I start.. I had to go there three times in order to register. First time I went there 30 minutes before it was about to close, and front office staff told me come back next week with the new patient form filled out. I came back next week, but the guy who could register wasn't there due to doctor's appointment or something. They never apologized or anything. I came in for the third time and finally got myself registered. Gosh.. Did blood test last week then came back yesterday for an appointment with Dr. Patel. I went in for taking history and taking vital signs. This Caucasian nurse, I think her name was Christine.. She was very upset because I did not bring my medication bottle, which I have been taking for hair loss. I knew the exact dosage and the name, but she made it such a big deal out of it and scolded me multiple times. Anyways, then she asked my date of birth literally 5-6 times because it was entered incorrectly. She told me to bring my VA insurance ID card, and I did. Then she said it was not enough in order to prove that I'm the right patient. It must have been one of the front office staff who entered my date of birth wrong. She said I will have to drive all the way to Long beach business office in order to get this corrected. WTH? Are you kidding me? She was being extremely rude the whole time I was there, treating me like a private during basic training or something. She got me so mad, and I almost walked out of the clinic while she was taking my vital signs. It's not like I have all the time in the world to drive all the way to Long beach. Your front office staff made such a stupid mistake, and I have to drive all the way over there? I'm a very busy professional. I work as a physician assistant in primary care, and patient should not be treated this way, especially our veterans. Also Dr, Patel, he does not know how to do a proper abdominal physical exam. You are supposed to lay the patient down, inspect first, then palpate their abdomen. Not just feeling their belly sitting up before inspecting! Also, Hemoglobin A1C 5.7 is not normal. You are supposed to tell the patient to cut down on processed carbohydrate and exercise or something. What kind of medical school did you go to? Where did you do your residency? I could give this place negative million stars if I could. Why does VA clinics always treat me like crap? Is that because I'm an Asian, or is it because I did not serve during the Korean war? I served during OIF/ OEF. I spent time in Iraq for 15 months. I was honorably discharged after serving as a medic for 4 years. Why do I have to be treated like this?
