I have been taking my dogs and cats to Codornices vet clinic for nearly 30 years. I really appreciate their warm attitude to my pets, and they treat them as if they were their own. I have worked with many different veterinarians on their staff over the years, as well as the vet techs and the administrative folks. They are usually very busy, but managed to be very efficient and very attentive, always keeping you in the loop about what is happening. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have not been able to go into the office with my pets. They come out, and take your pet from you either in their arms or in a carrier, and take them in for their exam or treatment. They keep you on the phone while they’re examining your pet and discussing what else may need to happen, and I feel that the accommodation, despite not being perfect, is workable. I highly recommend Codornices vet clinic for your pet care.

Codornices always provides the highest level of care for my animals. I have brought all of my animals to Codornices for the last 10 years and the attention to detail and commitment every team member brings to the table is impressive. From the front desk staff to the vet techs to the doctors, the entire team is outstanding.

Love love love this place!!! Best vet we had, we moved to Oakland but I’m going to make the drive because I’m frustrated with not being able to be seen when something urgent comes up. Jessica was such a blessing during a moment of stress and definitely helped me to take care of our dog.

I have been taking my cats to this clinic for the last 19 years or so. Their support staff is always pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. The vets themselves are very personable. One of my favorite vets came out to my house to personally euthanize my cat who was suffering from cancer, and then sent me a lovely condolence card and made a donation in my cat's name. Amazing!

I have used the services of Codornices Vet for many years now, caring for my kitties and dog. We see Dr. David Grant, who is very careful, explains everything clearly, helps me make good decisions weighing the pros and cons of treatments, understands that people don't have unlimited resources, and best of all, is vey caring. The staff is also very helpful and patient in these challenging times.

Dr. Lie at Cordonices is the best vet I've ever had. He's responsive, knowledgable, and always takes the time to give me background information and lay out all my options (and their costs) when I need to make a decision about my cat's health. Not to mention he's very kind, patient, and fun to talk to! He's very responsive via email and I'm so grateful to him and his expertise. My cat had behavioral issues for a little while, which is not the easiest thing to diagnose or treat. Dr. Lie was able to determine what was going on with extreme accuracy and offer a variety of possible solutions to try. With his recommendations my old lady is the happiest and healthiest she's ever been. All of the techs are sweet and polite. I refer all my friends to this clinic—if you're frustrated with your vet or you need to find a new one for any reason, this is the place to go.

Talk about loving, caring, professional, friendly, extremely competent people, from Dr Gurley to every staff person I interacted with, wow! And that was just my first appointment! I was referred to Codornices by a friend who has been getting her pets healthcare there since like 1975 and I am so happy and grateful to her! Thanks Kate!!!!♥️ I felt from the instant I first contacted them that I’d found my sweet kittens their furever veterinarian clinic. And THEN I met Dr Gurley! I wouldn’t or couldn’t have found a more perfect place to take my kitties to for their healthcare. Perfect match!

Dr. Gurley of Codordices veterinary clinic has been my vet for several years. She is among the very best and I feel fortunate that she oversees the care of my cats. The staff persons are professional and friendly. I highly recommend Codordices.

This is a great vet clinic. I have been working with them with my dog for I think the past eight years (my dog is now 16 and nearing the end of this life). They kind, responsive, knowledgeable, and friendly (if busy - but I understand why!). I have a medically complicated older dog and they have managed his care well, in cooperation with several specialists at other practices. Thank you especially to Dr. Grant and Dr. Gurley, but also to all the techs and reception staff for helping me keep Huck's quality of life as good as possible in his later years.

I have taken all my cats over the years to Dr. Grant at Codornices Veterinary clinic. His care for my cats has been superb. He has helped two of my cats with end of life issues and helped me with the loss. He is well trained and compassionate. He just gave my two new kittens their shots and first exam.

Vets are all very skilled and easy to work with. However, practice is very expensive and approach is very conventional. Perhaps, newer DVMs joining the practice will be better educated to nutrition and not so subject to influence by petfood companies. Also, would appreciate a more holistic approach adding acupuncture and chiropracty to the repertoire of treatment options.

Dr. Grant has been our family vet for years. I had used other vets, unhappily, with my first dog in the first year I had him, until I found Dr. Grant. He diagnosed my dog's food sensitivities, where other vets failed. Once we had that dx, our dog was otherwise healthy and happy for years. When we needed specialists, he referred us to the very best. Our dog passed at the age of 15, and when we were finally ready for another dog, we immediately brought him to Dr. Grant. My questions and concerns are always answered, and I know the staff have loved my pets as much as I do. In fact, my current dog wiggle-butts happily into the vet! In part because he knows he'll get treats, but mostly because staff treat him as one of their own. Highly, highly recommended.

Cordonices Vets have cared for two of my cats, over their lifetimes; and presently one cat. They have it all. They are extremely knowledgeable in veterinary medicine, are open to alternative treatments, and always are sure to let me know exactly what's going on. Their front desk help is also tops, very supportive to my critter--and me-- and very comforting in general. I wouldn't go to anyone else for the care of an animal.

I have been going to codornices since I moved to the East Bay in 1981. Richard Hack was the owner then and my personal vet,, and I was worried when it changed hands that the care would reflect the change. I am pleased however to have experienced great care for my cat. The office staff, the vet tech's, and my personal vet, Erica, Gurley are all top notch in my experience. Couldn't be happier. Glenn Cronkhite

We are very happy to be part of the Codornices' family. We onboarded our newly adopted 14 mths Great Dane girl and were impressed by Dr Lei's interest in our Puppy's whole eco system as well as of course her own wellbeing.

Good vet, Dr. Grant did a good job explaining my cat's problems. Prescribed Meds to be compounded in a gel that I can put in her ear. Much easier than giving her pills.

I've been taking my doggie to Codornices for most of her 11 year life, and she loves the staff - so do I ! <3 You might run into scheduling issues but only because the place is popular. That's a good sign, ya'll.

Everything about my (and my cat's) visit to Codornices Vet. Clinic was fine. It does not require any changes or improvements. All the personnel is completely competent, friendly. I always look forward to bringing my cat (Cappuccino) in for whatever she requires.

For all the decades I have brought our various animals here, I have rarely been unhappy with all of the above characteristics. Consistent has been an established good intent and heart from everyone, resulting in great quality of care.

Dr. Grant fit my kitty in despite his very busy schedule. I was so grateful as my cat was losing weight rapidly. I, of course, was asking tons of questions and wanting answers. Dr. Grant was very methodical and thorough in ordering the tests needed to diagnose my kitty and when he did, he gave his recommendations in a most clear and concise manner. My cat is doing so much better just after administering vitamin B12. The other medications are soon coming as well. Dr. Grant is professional, caring and very clear in his recommendations......This is my new vet moving forward!!

I’ve been taking ALL my animals (and it’s a lot!) to Codornices and Dr Gurley for many years. From the front desk staff to the techs to Dr Gurley, I know my furkids will be treated like family. They all know, when it’s time for my fur kids wellness visits comes, it’s easier to call me and arrange appointments, we stagger them, so it’s best for everyone. There was a mishap this year, due to the app, but quickly resolved. I will continue to use Codornices as long as Dr Gurley works there, she’s my go to Vet and friend!

It was easy to drop off and also pay for his appointment. I’m thankful to be able to get these tech appointments for routine immunizations, they save so much time and fuss. Thanks!!!

The people at Codornices Veterinary Clinic make the vet experience easy for both pets & their people. They have taken care of my dog & cat for the past 7 years, on routine visits & for major problems. The atmosphere is low-keyed. Treatment is sensible & humane. And everyone on the staff goes out of the way to make pets feel special. With the arrival of covid, the new visiting procedures feel beautifully safe & straightforward. I can't think of going anywhere else in the East Bay.
