I had been looking for a new vet since mine had retired. Ms Jen is the best and her assistant was so good with my pet the staff went out of there way to make me and my Dog River feel comfortable. I'd recommend Utopia to my family and friends. We love them and plan on seeing them for all our pet needs. Thanks Utopia you are #1 with River and I. Helen Ross and River

Dr. Jen is amazing with all of our animals, she treats them and you with complete kindness. She also will not push products that are expensive if you don't need them! Best Veterinarian in Memphis!

We've been going to Utopia for years and I cannot recommend it enough. It's incredibly affordable and Dr. Clay is an amazing vet and really takes the time and care with your animal. She's also just wonderful with kitties, even ones who are as...spirited as mine during vet visits. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I am so glad a friend of mine recommended Utopia Animal Hospital as a place treat my old cat. I had been going to another local vet practice for years and never liked or felt comfortable there. I got the feeling they didn’t care about my cat. The vet spent minimal time talking to me. Just hand over the animal and we’ll be back with a bill. After three trips there, they couldn’t find my cat in the computer because no one ever bothered to type his name in correctly. Utopia is just the opposite! The entire staff is SO nice. They all knew my cat after one visit. The vet, Dr. Jen, is a true fantastic. Before rendering any treatment, she fully explained everything to me and answered all questions without making me feel like she was in a rush. She called me the next morning to give me my cat’s blood test results and see how he was doing. He has elevated hyperthyroid levels. She said she had a prescription for the medicine he needed that another client ended up not using and offered to just give it to me without charge. I could not recommend Utopia more strongly.

I work at Utopia so I am a little bias when it comes to how I feel about the place. The staff are great and do their very best to accommodate everyone to the best of their abilities. From my own personal experience in the 11 years I have been there they have been kind and gentle with my animals and have seen me through several losses with grace and kindness. I totally would recommend them even if I didn't work there.

Utopia is amazing with pets and people. They walked us through the most difficult day with our previous dog and I knew if I ever had another they were where I would go. When Toto arrived in our lives a year ago they were the first place we went. They are fantastic.

my baby is in heart failure because of this place.! I'm filled with so many different emotions about the situation hurt anger disappointment fear all of the above. several months back I took my dog here because he has had a grade 3 heart murmur for sometime. she said it had not gotten any worse, and that his heart was slightly enlarged and pressing on his trachea. So she precedes to give him some cough tablets. About a month-and-a-half ago my boy, started coughing more which is an indicator that heart has gotten worse. when I come to find out later he was having mini heart attacks hestarted falling over more unresponsive almost look like a seizure. I took him to her a month ago and told her what was going on .she checked his heart and said it had not gotten any worse and it was not time for heart meds. We were out of town and Sam had a full-blown heart attack.I wasn't aware of what it was for sure at the time. I called his doctor doctor, Jen and never received a call back. I get back to town ,and take him to Grace animal hospital for a second opinion come to find out Sam is in heart failure and has a grade 6 heart murmur. My boy could have died the other day! Hopefully these heart meds that he's been given will help slow that down. I don't have much more to say except the next few days will tell if the meds are working or not. highly disappointed!

Dr. Clay has cared for 5 of my pets. They don't get scared when they come to Utopia the way they do if I have to take them anywhere else when Utopia is not open. GREAT vet and staff.

Update review on 6/11/2020 My old girl started having intestinal issues and wasn't consistently eating her food. Utopia tried to help us figure out what was wrong with her. We treated several possibilities (her blood work and x-rays were normal), but she continued to decline despite the treatments, diet change, etc. Eventually she stopped eating altogether and lost full function of her hind legs. With great sadness, we knew it was time to let her go. Utopia was compassionate and made the process go as smoothly as these things can go. My son and I were able to be with her to the end. We just picked up her beautiful paw print that they made for us. This experience just reaffirms that they are the best vet practice in this city and I will happily recommend them to anyone looking for a great veterinary practice. First review: I finally decided to give Utopia a chance after hearing all the good reviews and my growing disenchantment with Petvax after many years of being their loyal client. I had no problem with the treatment of my pets, but the feeling at times that I was being taken the long and more expensive route to answers and being denied medication refills for one condition if I didn't come in for a recheck for a different problem. But this review is about Utopia, not Petvax. Years ago, I was a receptionist for a vet clinic in Seattle that reminds me very much of Utopia (I've since been a vet assistant and tech in Memphis, but left vet care about 12 years ago). It feels very cozy and inviting. Everyone is very sweet and tries to make you comfortable. We addressed a skin issue my eldest dog is dealing with and was having treated at Petvax. Rather then make me come back every two weeks for a recheck, she gave me three weeks worth of medicine and told me to call or come back if she wasn't 100%. After three weeks, she was about 90% better (and that is significant because her skin was in terrible shape), so I called to have her rechecked and the vet determined she still had some lingering yeast. They gave me another round of antifungal and meds to help with the itchiness and said they would call to check on her in a few weeks. No pressure, they let me decide if the recheck is necessary. I haven't been in a vet practice like Utopia since Seattle and I haven't found one I've truly respected in Memphis (since moving here 16 years ago) until I visited Utopia. I will be bringing all three of my dogs and two cats here for future visits. My girl (who isn't scared or shaking when she visits Utopia and loves all the attention she gets) has already improved enough from her last recheck that we can finally take the cone of shame off. I was starting to think it was going to be a permanent attachment. She's finally stopped chewing on her skin!

Very nice people work there. Think they go for more natural healing than constant shots. Has helped our baby immensely with her both ear infections. Hardly scratching at all.
