Every animal my family has owned has been cared for by Dr. Conley. He always tries his best, but also is realistic, especially towards the end of their life, which is not always what we want to hear as owners. This man has come back into the office late at night after our animal has passed to take care of the situation. Not many people would do that. From my experiences, this is who I would recommend and take my pets too until he retired.

Small, no nonsense, reasonably priced vet. Which is exactly what you want. Their building is exactly what you expect on Summer Ave. Small and older. It's made up of a waiting room, several small patient rooms and a back area where one would assume they do lab work, kennel area, and other "official vet stuff." It also has a small fenced off area for the staff to take pets out during their stay. Walking in to this quaint, old school vet, you immediately know money isn't wasted on the rent, stylish decor, a fancy marketing systems designed to sell you services, or paying off the Doctor's student loans like so many vet offices are. The wood paneled waiting room is filled with a couple chairs, a shelf of dog food, a Norman Rockwell print, and a 20 year old portrait of Dr. Conley's family. The patient room consists of well used formica counter and anatomy displays provided by various medications sitting on the windowsill. Nothing here screams 'hi-tech' - it's an office with well used equipment for a Dr. who knows what he's doing. The staff is small and pleasant. The entire staff is Doctor Conley and his 3 assistants, one of which is his wife. (You know from the photo on the wall!) If no one is in the waiting room, the desk assistant will likely also be assisting in your appointment. The staff has been nice each time I've been but not overly chatty. Also, the assistant who seems to handle most of the billing is bilingual - a must on Summer. Their prices aren't inflated. Meds and services have been the same or lower than previous vets I've used. They also didn't push any medication or treatments. Each of my visits have been brief and informative. I'm in, Dr. Conley tells you what he's about to do, does that in silence, and then gives his no nonsense assesment before I'm back up at the front counter. I'm in, I'm out. If you're looking for a reasonably priced vet who will take care of your furry family member without a lot of glitz and glamor, it's worth taking a look at the Summer Avenue Animal Hospital.

The staff at Summer avu. Animal Hospital is amazing. I took my 11 week puppy to his 1st visit and the Dr. answered all questions I had and was so sweet and gentle with our baby Pouncer. At the end of his check up Pouncer wanted to stay and play bc he even enjoyed the visit. I could go on and on all day about this office and will 100% recommend them. Thanks for taking great care of Pouncer and look Forward to our next visit.

My pit had a bad allergic reaction to something. He had hives and very swollen face and throat. He was seen right away and given great care and we were seen and out in about an hour.

I was very pleased with our visit they took great care of my dog and their prices were very responsible. I will be taking my baby back to summer Ave animal hospital.

The doctor is so good with my dog, and my dog Bo isn't afraid to go to vet when it is time. The office is clean and very friendly staff

My husband has gone to Dr. Conley for over 10 years. When I moved to Memphis, this was the first vet I took my fur-babies to, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The clinic is great, there is rarely a wait time, the prices are affordable, and most importantly, Dr. Conley does an amazing job taking care of our pups and kitties. I went through a really bad experience with a kitten I had rescued getting extremely sick overnight. Dr. Conley and his staff were incredibly empathetic and went above and beyond in an impossible situation. If you are looking for a vet in Memphis, I highly recommend you come here.

Amazing staff who has done everything to help our little chihuahua through her heart issues. Answered every question( and we had tons) with kindness and helped us understand her diagnosis.

Caring staff with quick service. It’s actually a long drive for us. However, when we only have to visit once a year, and everything we need for our dogs is taken care of right away, it’s worth the drive to have some of the best profession care for our pets.

This place was very reassuring and kind. If you are having a severe issue with your animal on the weekend this is the BEST place in Memphis to take them. Their doctors are top notch and will do anything and everything to help your pet. Everything was explained to us in kind, easy manner especially when we were very upset. Don’t worry! My dog is okay now thanks to them!
