I brought my cat Halo in on Christmas she was in obvious respiratory distress.Nothing else was opened and we drove from Jonesboro, AR.Once i hit my financial limit they pulled her off oxygen knowing she still was having complications breathing. They even said they preferred keeping her over the weekend but because my limit was 800 and not 3000 they discharged her and she died in our car 20 mins later driving home. I had to bury my baby on Christmas and they didn't care. They only care about money and charge OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNTS. They kept referring to her as "he." They said she had asthma and that's what they were treating her for. But i feel in my heart there was something more going on and they wouldn't listen. When they brought her back out they handed our cat carrier to us in the same manner you would hand someone a bag of trash. They are disgusting and heartless and they need to be shut down. I believe she was misdiagnosed and wish i could afford a pet autopsy because she went in calm but came out crying for dear life and then died. And i couldn't be back there to see what they were doing. DON'T BRING YOUR BABIES HERE!!! Please take them somewhere with care and compassion but this place is FAR from that.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I paid them $600 for them to neglect treating my dogs wounds which have now caused him to become septic and fighting for his life now he is at another hospital

After reading the reviews I was very hesitant to take my dog here, but I had no choice. Thought my beloved Joe was dying and this was the only place open on a Sunday. The Dr. & receptionist were nothing but professional and caring. He saved my Joe. Very happy with my experience. Only reason I didn’t leave 5 stars is it was crazy $$$$$ and the wait was long. To be expected, oh well. THANK YOU!! Worth every penny knowing my Joe is still with me for a little while longer.

Edited: I wanted to edit my review because complications did actually arise from his surgery. I understand that this is not always in the control of the surgeon but unfortunately my dog's intestinal sutures broke and an infection spread through his body. I've edited my rating not because of the surgeon but because when I called the reception desk about my concerns with Ziggy's regression post-surgery, she essentially gaslighted me and told me he was fine. She made me feel like I was overreacting when, unfortunately, I was totally right and he was on the verge of death. I explained all his symptoms to her and she didn't even suggest that I talk to a vet tech or surgeon but tried to handle it herself (by telling me he was fine). ---------------------------------------------------- I was driving through Memphis for the night during a road trip from NC to TX when my dog collapsed in our hotel room and started to shake. AEC was the closest place to me so I drove him there immediately, knowing nothing at all about the area or the facility. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I did have to wait a while both to drop him off and pick him up and there was some confusion with the reception desk about when/where I could pick him up. HOWEVER - the doctor and technicians quite literally saved my dog and my sanity. They updated me every step of the way and talked me through their decisions. I had no idea what could be happening until they were able to figure out he had consumed a foreign object and immediately admitted him into surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery, thanks to their thoroughness and decision-making. I also wanted to say that one of the nurse techs specifically was SO amazing and was able to connect me to a nearby clinic so he could finish being observed as he healed. It means the world to me that they were able to help him in a time where I was desperate and helpless.

They have a receptionist name Ms. Courtney is so rude. We are already in distress when you come. She is snappy and short with you. No Sympathy at all. She told me you can call or report whatever. I don't care. Whatever. She is a b***** if my baby was sick I would never go back there. I didn't meet the doctor but I'm gonna make her my business to get a reply and apology. If the doctor is good she is bad for business..

Be prepared to wait IN YOUR CAR for hours. Took our dog in for emergency care and like others, called prior AND filled out forms online…..they still asked the SAME questions we put on the form once we arrived. Due to “COVID”, despite wearing masks, they make you WAIT in your car and you can’t use their restroom?!!!! “Dr King won’t let anyone use our restroom”???????? We were there for 3 HOURS! We would NOT go here if it wasn’t an emergency for our dog. Very distressing, scary and emotional and no compassion or empathy. Really extreme “COVID???” safety measures were just over the top although employees had on cloth masks. My mask is surgical grade and disposable. Not sure what’s going on at this place. Only positive is my dog is getting better. I don’t know how they treated her because they wouldn’t let us in. She is recovering. Hope I never have to go back.

They got my dog in almost immediately after we walked in the door. Everyone was so helpful beyond what they just “have to do” for work. The Dr. went way beyond what she had to do to help my dog which is my child/best friend and explain to me everything and answer every question I had and it meant so much to me I cannot ever thank them enough. I pray that nothing ever happens to have to resort to coming to a place like this, but if you do, don’t choose anyplace but here

How this place has more than one star total is beyond my comprehension! One word: HORRIBLE! No compassion, no bed side manner, no concerning nature! Now, every mouse gets some cheese once in a while! So people when you are reading about how wonderful they are, do so with extreme caution! At nearly 50% reviews at 1 star! That’s no coincidence people! They are the only game in Memphis after hours, and they are outrageously ridiculously OVER priced!! If your pet can hand on take them out to Millington, Arlington or anywhere else that is INDEPENDENTLY OWNED!! Your wallet will thank you!! This place was great and reasonably priced years ago! Not anymore! This location and the big hospital in Cordova behind Walmart are both run by an investment firm!! Do your research it’s true! My vet told me this and I checked it out, it is true! Money, money, money……MONEY! Dollar bill y’all! If you pet can make it, use someone else!!! Good luck and I’ll be praying for your babies!! God bless!

Needs to be shut down. Took my puppy and he died the next day!! They don't listen to anything you tell them, they only run test to get your money, then hold your animal hostage if you don't pay!! You are better off self treating at home and they have you waiting for hours and won't let you use the restroom! Literally needs to be burned down..

Called this place because it was the closest animal hospital to my home. I called prior to taking my dog because he had eaten Brillo pads. They sent me a new patient form to fill out and told me to bring him there. I got there and called them to let them know we arrived. I waited in the car for 45 minutes before we got a call back to answer questions that were already apart of the form we filled out. They then informed me that they could do X-rays but it would be a few hours before a doctor could do an exam. We waited another 5 minutes to have them call again to inform us we needed to contact poison control before they could take the dog in. We contacted another pet hospital that told us immediately to contact poison control and to bring the dog in immediately. The new pet hospital took him in for exam as soon as we arrived. Do not go here if you are having an emergency unless you are willing to wait an hour.

Took my dog here. Vet didn't really do anything other than exam and give him a pain shot and tell us he’d be right out. Now heres where things go sideways. “right out” means nothing for an hour. We call as they are having everyone wait in their cars. 15 minutes on hold for them to figure out they have now confused our dog with another pet. then 10 minutes for the person on the phone to figure out how to do a credit cars. Finally they bring my puppers out and his back end is soaked in urine. If i could give thos place 0 or negative stars I would. Seriously, how are we supposed to have any faith in what they did if they cant even keep their animal patients straight?

I brought my kitten here due to an open wound on her belly. I only had to wait ~15 min before they took her in. As I waited in my car, the vet constantly updated me on my kitten and how much each procedure was going to cost. They took very good care of her and gave me all the info I needed to best take care of her! Her procedure only took about an hour. They also checked her out and found some other issues with her that my past vet overlooked which I was very grateful for! Very nice and attentive staff!

I'm so thankful such a place exists, but beeing busy and the only open place does not grant them the right to treat sick animals so badly. Last night we were waiting there for 4 hours, and during this whole time they kept my cat in his carrier, no place to walk, eat, or even a litter box. 4 HOURS in a small box. My cat became so agitated and maniac that they had to restrain him and put a tight leash on him which they couldn't even take off afterwards. My cat so normally so calm and relaxed and they treated him like that! I had to refuse further treatment just to get him out of that place.

I just got a 13 week old Dobermann and not even 10 days later, I'd notice he wasn't feeling well. He wouldn't eat and couldn't even keep water down. I brought him here, wait time was about 3 hours before they could see him. They ran some tests. He had Pravo and Hookworms Infection. As many of us know, Pravo is very deadly. I was provided with options for treatments. He was placed on IV fluids, treated for hookworms. GREAT NEWS, HE PULLED THROUGH. Cost a pretty penny but worth it!

I'd brought my mini Dachshund Buddy here cold & unresponsive. They brought him back & determined that he was in severe congestive heart failure. They did what they could even while I had to return to work. I never got back in …

I owned a Frenchie Bull Dog, he had a heat stroke. Instead of the doctors and workers making you comfortable and feel relived they were very non-chalant. We were sent from Southaven Animal hospital to them. Before I could just fully know what was going on with my baby they gave me this ridiculous amount with the only option to pay 600.00 up-front which was a complete rip off because the called me hours later telling me my baby didn’t make it. What did you charge me for? I could of took him home. Very rude people inside of the work place as well! Never again.

They are totally unprofessional. Keep my dog overnight and did nothing to help. Charged several thousand dollars. She end up passing away. Do not go there if you hav any other options. I would Give them a minus rating if I could. They did more harm than good. Hope you read this before going there. They should be shut down. Please find another vet if possible. Hope this helps some. I feel it like a scam. If any avoid. As there is a lot of good Vet in memphis. Thanks and hope this is helpful in making a decision for you pet safety and life or death

I’m a new dog mom and I own a silver-hair pitbull with occasional allergies and skin issues. On this particular night, I had to take him to the emergency vet because he was having an allergic reaction to food. I tried to self treat at home during the day thinking to do all the at home remedies. Well, it got to 1am and he could not sleep. So, I pulled out my phone and did a Google search for 24-hour vets. The first time I called what I believed to have been Animal Emergency Center I encountered the most rude young lady ever. She even hung up the phone in my face, but not before saying an example of an emergency is my dog being hit by a car. After being hung up on, I called what I thought was the same number; however, the call was answered by a young man. I asked to speak to the same young lady, but he informed me that no lady was working the front desk. Putting that on pause, I explained my issue and was told to bring my dog to the clinic. This young man and ALL of the other staff on duty that night at the ACTUAL Animal Emergency Center on Summer was extremely nice. They got my dog in right away, gave him treatment, walked me through every step although I stayed in my car. I have nothing but nice things to say about this business and I thank them for treating my dog and my attitude when I pulled up. I was informed that this clinic has a sister clinic and the two clinics are often confused even when calling. Make sure when you call that you are talking to people at this location.

My Emma just got her shots and her face swelled from chihuahua to pitbull. I took her to this center and the staff walked me through their procedures while maintaining social distancing and adhering to company covid guidelines. Though I don’t like waiting in the car for my baby while she needs me most I strongly felt she was in good hands and within 3.5 hours she was much better! She had an allergic reaction to her annual shots and they communicated that with her vet via email. It took awhile only because they wanted to observe her. My bill was $200 dollars due to diagnostics, observations, & medications. I am so thankful for their services!!

This is by far the worst. Never ever had I have to wait so long for no one to call back after I was told they would after finishing paperwork. I called back after an hour of waiting outside while my dog was bleeding and throwing up blood for them to not answer and I called again and still no answer so we left & are waiting until we see her vet. This is absolutely ridiculous, sad, unprofessional. Got workers smoking outside on TikTok cause you can clearly hear it. I mean they give no care honestly. Front desk no words just shut this place down.

Two weeks ago my dog required emergency surgery and AEC was slammed. They took amazing care of my dog and her pups and tolerated every little question I had when during updates. I wish I could remember the Drs name, but kudos to him and to Casey, the vet tech who made our experience as pleasant as an emergency visit can be.

I want to thank the entire staff at the Animal Emergency Center. Last weekend, they were so helpful and wonderful with a very stressful situation. They were extremely kind and made what could have been a bad situation have a better outcome. Thanks so much.

I took my dog there for an after hour emergency and he had to get staples 6 staples out in. 3 days later 2 of his staples came out. I called up there to see about getting them put back in and they say I have to pay another assessment fee ($108) plus whatever else they have to do. I shouldn’t have to pay again bc they fell off 3 days later. The receptionist kept saying it was my fault bc it’s my responsibility as the owner to make sure they don’t fall off. Will never be going there again.

The staff at this facility are rude and unfeeling toward animals (and humans). I do not post negative reviews lightly. I brought my injured puppy to this place on a Sunday, during COVID pandemic, and so of course there are curbside protocols in place, just like at most veterinary facilities. However, they are poorly signed and poorly communicated. When I completed the new patient sign in, the staff person who answered the phone was curt, unclear and basically hung up abruptly when I politely called and told her about my puppy’s injury. Next, I waited half an hour in the parking lot with no information about what I was waiting for, or how long it might be. Finally I decided to call once again and ask status. They didn’t answer. Then a tech came out to get another pet from another car. I said, “excuse me, hi! I was wondering, do you know if someone’s going to come get my dog soon?” He looked at me with SUCH animosity and said, “psh how should I know” and walked off with the other lady’s dog in his clutches. I had such a bad feeling about these people that I drove to Cordova to the animal hospital there. I recommend anyone do the same; this place is not worth the risk.

They seen my pet but they was very rude. One worker told us to park up front due to Corona and they were going to get my pet out to me and when we did, we were sitting up there for about 15 mins when we got a call from another worker telling us they had told us to park in the back. She was very rude and hung up the phone in my face. That’s very unprofessional and unorganized. They need better communication skills if 2 people telling us to different things. Also they are very pricey.

I can only say I had a really bad experience with this vet. I took my pet and supposedly they put the right medications and they charged me and not only that they didn’t want to take my dog like if they were grossed by him and not just any dog a Labrador puppy and thanks to them he is not alive today. And we took him to another vet and they said that they gave him the wrong medicine. La peor clínica para mascotas!
