When we adopted two kitten in July, I checked out several veterinarian clinics online. All looked favorable but SRVC stood out above the rest. When we made our initial visit, our decision was validated. The SRVC facility is clean and modern and the staff are very polite and helpful. Dr. Brian Barron genuinely cares about the animals he treats. He took time to make recommendations on the care of our kittens and answered all of our questions, which is important to us as we are first time cat owners. We are 100% pleased with our decision to have our cats treated at SRVC and heartily recommend them to others!

I cannot say enough good things about SRVC and especially Dr. Martin. He is so kind, knowledgeable and takes the time to explain and answer questions. I feel safe taking my pups there and know they are well cared for. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the whole team!

The staff at SRVC is wonderful. I can call with a question and if they can't answer it, they either talk to one of the veterinarians or let them know they need to call me. Dr. Barron has been our vet for years, has cared for our elderly dog with chronic low grade pancreatitis and saved the life of our youngest dog when her problem was very hard to diagnose. I would not go anywhere else.

I appreciate their care, however, their excessive "spam" calling deters me to go elsewhere... It's almost invading and definitely a turn off to use them ever again. Try a different method and you might be surprised.

I was immediately informed that no appt slots were avail and that, if they dog was to be seen this week, it would have to be scheduled as a 'Day Admission.' I was concerned for pricing for an entire day just for a skin infection requiring diagnosing for correct antibiotics, but I didn't want him to get any worse or, possibly, spread. AI asked about cost and was told it would be $14 for the day. "Ok," I said. A time was set up for drop off for 7/28 at 7:30AM, I was instructed to fill out and submit a day admission form at the website, and nothing further was added for my information from the scheduler. Dog dropped off at 7:30AM on 7/28. I received a call 4 hours later stating that the clinic policy is that any day admission be vaccinated for Bordetella, pneumonia, and, I believe, something else that I can't remember now.... maybe influenza. The person with whom I was speaking asked if it was ok for the dog to receive the vaccines and I stated, "no," that I had already spoken with them during the previous 7/24 visit about holding the Bordetella for another 6 months. She went on to insist the dog be vaccinated so that he could remain on day admission to see the doctor. I, again, said no. She asked me to hold until she could seek advice. I held for 15 minutes and, finally, hung up the phone. Shortly after hanging up, I received a phone call from the business manager who repeated their day admission policy guidelines and she went on to state, "since [the dog's] Bordetella just expired this week, we can forego that one, however, he will need to take the pneumonia (or influenza...I can't remember which one) vaccine to remain a day admission and be seen." I asked the cost. $43 she said. I, again, stated "No, I do not want him to receive it as he's been a patient there for years and this vaccine has never been suggested, he's 9 years old, and he's never had the vaccine nor the illness." I, again, informed her that I could come and pick him up if necessary. She replied, "That's fine." I asked for both my dogs medical records to be ready for pickup. I am in healthcare and would never treat a patient the way my dog was treated today. As I informed the manager, I do realize they have a policy and have to follow it to protect the other patients there. However, each situation is different. There is usually a solution that can be agreed upon if both parties are willing to compromise. I was not willing to be forced to pay for a vaccine that my dog did not need aside from the fact that he was offered a day admission to be seen for a possible infection since the tech didn't catch s/s of infection during his regular appt. Otherwise, we could've had his doctor take a quick look during his 7/24 appt. I explained to her that their policy should be to advise of the vaccine guidelines for all day admissions at the time the appt is offered. This wasn't the case in my situation; I was never advised of the policy when I was asked to make the appt. Nor were the guidelines on the admission website at the time I submitted the form. She voiced her understanding, stated she had already spoken with the scheduler and the rest of the scheduling staff, to inform customers of the day admission guidelines at the time of scheduling. All-in-all, I am extremely disappointed in the way this situation was handled. However, after this experience, I advise anyone taking their pets to this newly built clinic to be aware. At the very least, search around for alternative estimates for procedures, or product prices, or in my case, appointments if you are given quotes here. Do not be forced to pay for something your pet has never had nor has an immediate need for, in order to be examined. The half-way point would've been for the clinic to have a quarantine area they could've placed my dog away from other dogs or asked me to bring him in earlier or later before the doctor gets too busy. I see this as a meeting point in light of the fact that he's never been ill, he's been a patient there for years, and that we never ever have a balance since everything is paid in full.

Excellent vets. Have been using this clinic for over 30 years. Comprehensive services. Vets. explain conditions in detail. Still only doing curb-side check-ins for pets; pets are brought inside by clinic staff while owners wait in car. Vet. phones you before you leave w/ his findings. Clinic states it is an animal hospital; however the last time I checked it doesn't have overnight staffing. I would be reluctant to leave my pets here for that reason. A bit expensive. $53 for vet. visit; no clinic charge for service if pet seen by vet. technician only---you will pay for cost of medication only.

Dr. Campbell is so caring and understanding of even the most challenging dogs. It is clear she is passionate and educated on what she does, and all of the other staff members in the clinic are so kind as well! They made my very nervous dog very comfortable, even with curbside service, which turns out to be very preferable (in my opinion) to the regular style of visits! Could not recommend SRVC and Dr. Campbell enough :)

Took my dog here to get her ears cleaned and looked at, however she needs a muzzle because she has been attacked my another dog before, and is now defensive around other dogs. She has never shown aggression towards humans ever in her life, and I already told the vet this. Still when they call me after her service and explain to me the situation, they told me to go home and clean her ears myself even though she has a muzzle on her. I come here and pay for a service and expect it to be done. My opinion of the doctor at this facility is that he is in the wrong profession if he is scared to clean out a dog's ear, even though I already told him that she is not aggressive towards humans, nor has she ever shown aggression towards people, just because she has a muzzle on her face they refused to clean out her ears for me.

They were so caring and understanding last year when I had to send Benji over the Rainbow Bridge. Then, when I brought Stella in this year, when she was showing signs of having been abused before I adopted her, they were so patient and kind with her. It's a good place to take your fur-baby!

I came to SRVC after going to my previous vet 3 times over 6 weeks while my pup continued to deteriorate. We came in, he was treated like the sweet dog he was even though his skin was in really rough shape. (A face only a mother could love!) Lucky passed soon after due to a different issue. We were both treated with dignity and as if we mattered. I felt like I was taking up space for somebody important at my previous vet.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about animals. Dr. Martin took the time to talk to me about Pearl and her health conditions. He gave samples of flea medication which was nice. The over all cost was not to bad either. Pearl is doing good and has no more fleas! Thanks Dr. Martin and staff!

I was very impressed with the professionalism of the front office. Once I was called back, I felt like the Dr gave me plenty of time to address my questions and concerns without feeling rushed. Very knowledgeable and friendly! I have the upmost trust in the office as a whole to care for my fur baby! Thank you so much!

Dr. Brian Barron is a wonderful, friendly, and great vet. I have all of the confidence in the world in his ability taking care of my toy poodle. He is always pleasant and ready to care for her on our visits. That means everything to me. I have also boarded her at the Shackleford Road Vet on occasions and when I pick her up she is always at ease. I would not take my dog to any other vet.

I took my dog Todd here, because he had a bad case of fleas that weren't clearing up with anything other the counter. They gave him something that cleared the fleas and an allergy medicine to help the bites and irritation he already had. Both are working very effectively, and Todd is back to his happy, lazy, and obstinate self. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. The staff was also very professional, and, even with curbside and a full schedule the day I visited (I took the last appointment available that day), it didn't take long get through the appointment.
