Not compassionate. These people are the type of people that will know exactly what's wrong with your pet, but won't suggest anything till they get you for $279. I own a business, and if I see something, I simply say something; anything else is just pure evil like legally holding you hostage for your money. Is this how you get your food VCA?

I have had pets my whole life and moved many times around the country, so I have plenty of experience with various vets (good and bad) and VCA El Mirage is by far the best vet clinic I have ever been to. My kitty personally sees Dr. Waltman who is absolutely incredible, kind, thorough, and puts the animal's wellbeing first and foremost. That being said, I would trust anyone at this clinic with any of my pets! Everyone I've ever dealt with who works here, whether on the phone or on a video visit has been amazing, friendly, and professional. They don't recommend unnecessary treatments just to make money, they really care about your pet and do what is best for them and work with you long term adjusting treatments until the right fit is found. Highly recommend this vet to anyone in the area!!

Glad I was able to get a last minute appointment for my pup. She had an allergic reaction to something and was itchy. Vca got me in within an hour of calling since my regular vet was booked.

I couldn't possibly be happier with our experience with VCA of El Mirage. We started going here by default because we adopted our kittens here and the first exam was covered. The staff was all very kind and I could tell the vet we saw truly loved her job. Well then about a year after we brought our kittens home, we went through a major medical situation with one of the cats. We really thought we were going to lose her and we nearly did. Dr. Waltman and the entire staff were incredible to work with. We stayed in close communication with multiple visits over the course of the month. I can never thank the vet and staff for everything they have done. We will be customers for life!

Given the current circumstances, I was pleasantly surprised with the service. The DOC was nice and easy to talk to. The staff was also very nice. They treated my Shepherd with care and was very good with her.

I am new to Arizona and just got a pet. Coming from NY state and having HAD a pet for 16 years. I just bought a MALTIPOO. Took her to VET VCA in Surprise. Have not met the staff as yet....ALL of them from receptionist to all of the doctors I have had need for Grace. They are kind, caring and on the top of their game for a level of excellence. As a new puppy having some issues and they are bringing us through with care and success. Thank you. Angela Paolozzi

I had to put my dog to rest , they checked her out before anything to make sure we were making the right choice , they were very caring and loving towards my dog and I before we put her to rest . It sucked but they did what needed, doing it with love and compassion to make it as easy on her and I. We love and miss lucy , but with the doctors help we all knew it was the right thing to do ! Thank you.

I took my other cat when she was alive to this place in Tempe and they were amazing. Since my friend had a bad experience with our newly adopted kitten i will NEVER take any other animals to white tank mountain vet hospital. I looked up other hospital's and this one came up. I was happy and booked an appointment right away. Even with Covid-19 it was still a great experience. The vet doctor was very helpful and amazing. They really care about your animals. Friendly staff. If you go on the site they have a coupon for your first visit. they are expensive but SO WORTH the money. The doctor told me everything that is wrong with my cat. Also suggested a monthly plan program to help with the costs. Thank you VCA you are the best. look forward to future visits <3

I recently adopted an elderly cat. From the recommendation of the Arizona Humane Society,I went to the VCA El mirage Animal Hospital. Dr Rogers is now my new vet. I am very pleased with her professionalism thoughtfulness care experience and skills. The whole staff from the representatives answering the phone the doctors to the lovely reps who come out and get the animals from the car, #covid19. Thank you so much for doing an outstanding job. I will be sending referrals.

This Animal Hospital cost my 12 year old male cat, Mister, his life due to negligence on part of the doctor. On Saturday morning the 23rd of May, 2020 I brought him in and was seen for what I told them were exhibiting symptoms of a UTI of which I have had unfortunate experience in the past. After describing the circumstances in detail they admitted him for a consult. I was called by the doctor stating she agreed it appeared as though there were signs of a UTI and she would recommend a urinalysis and send him home with prescription of gabapentin for pain. She said that he was not totally blocked. I asked if it would not be wise to prescribe also an antibiotic as well as a catheter to release his full and painful bladder and she consented to at least give antibiotics since it was a Saturday and they were closed on Sunday and Monday was Memorial day thus not getting results of the urinalysis till Tuesday the 26th. At that point I paid the consult fee $75 as well as urinalysis fee $95 and the exorbitant price for the drugs 6 times the price ($30 a piece) of what the pet pharmacy would charge (approximately $5 a piece). Please note Mister had been seen by them in the past and I was very pleased with one of the other doctors. After getting him home the next 36 hours progressively got worse and he would not eat, drink, excrete, or take the medicine. He was now dehydrated and toxins were building up. We spoke to another Vet Tech later Saturday evening who did not agree with the previous treatment plan and immediately started calling several now emergency clinics to see if we could get him in. The first thing they both asked besides symptoms were if he was given a catheter and fluids. Both of which I said no but had asked about and told them I had to request the antibiotics. Now on Sunday late morning we brought him to the emergency and were told unfortunately he was totally blocked, most likely had acute kidney damage, and although surgery was not recommended they would need to hospitalize him, give him fluids, place an internal catheter, remove the blockage, and monitor him for the next 48 hours and was most likely correctable but at this point could have developed crystals that would make him more susceptible to this in the future. This was at a cost of nearly $3000 which was not possible. I was forced into the decision now on his death bed due to the negligence and poor treatment of VCA to euthanize my cat or would certainly die without the hospitalization. Today, Tuesday the 26th, I was called by the doctor at VCA with the results of his urinalysis with no sign of crystals or abnormalities. If they had given him the shot antibiotic I requested as well as the catheter he would have recovered quickly and still be with me today. Although she was very sorry to hear of the unfortunate event I asked that if they could even refund the portion of the urinalysis cost, as obviously no longer needed, at least and she said unfortunately no they are unable to do that. I paid roughly $230 to VCA to in turn bring him elsewhere within 36 hours and pay yet another $110 to euthanize on the bad judgement and care of VCA and the doctors malpractice on a very common and correctable problem if it were done correctly and quickly. Money is of no concern over the matter as I and my family have lost our cat for no good reason and we cant get him back. He did not need to suffer and die in vain at the hands of VCA and my guess would, as otherwise he was and has always been healthy, have had several more years of life ahead of him to live if proper treatment had been given immediately and as I had asked. I have no formal education or experience in medicine but I even knew what was wrong and the appropriate course of treatment that was substantiated by another Vet Tech and DVM within 24 hours of care at VCA. It is a horrible and devastating loss and I would never personally take another pet family member here for care under any circumstance.

I've been taking my pets to VCA El Mirage Animal Hospital for 15 years, and my pets have received excellent care. Every Vet takes the time to make sure you understand everything about your pet, their care, and are there when you and your furbaby really needs them. I highly recommend them.

Regardless of the staff's abilities and how nice they are and how well they treat your fur baby THEY DO NOT WORK WITH ONLINE PHARMACIES. They don't bother telling you this even when you tell them all of your baby's prescriptions are through Chewy.com. It is for this reason I rated them 2 stars out of 5. Not working with online pharmacies in this day and age and especially with COVID-19 is a deal breaker. I won't be back to them.

Had a video curbside visit with Dr. Waltman for my cat who I recently adopted through the Humane Society. The vet was very patient and appropriately concerned for my pet. We were both treated with the utmost care and respect. I would highly recommend this facility!
