Alta Sierra vet hospital has staff that are friendly and outgoing. They like animals of all kinds. They have good hours (12 hrs a day six days a week) and they use modern lab testing methods. They explain things well and have a good attitude towards patients and "parents". The staff is efficient and polite which makes things better when your pet isn't well.

This place advertises emergency services. I called to get my dying dog into the clinic and said that I would be more than happy to pay after-hour or emergency fees. I was told that they did not have any spots available. This was at around 4pm. They advertise emergency services all night long. They must have psychic abilities to know that they would be full that night. They nicely told me to take him to Phoenix or Flagstaff. What a joke this place is!

Excellent vets that really care about your best friends all of them great staff wonderful people. Little bear loves going there as you can see he can hardly wait for us to take him back, he's gotten so big we might have to rename him Big Bear? My mom passed away in August so I inherited her 15 and 20-year-old kitties they are wonderful Mack & Annie an honor and with the help of Alta Sierra veterinary clinic they are doing well considering their age everyone there is spectacular loving kind and considerate and I needed a lot of help in every decision made with their help has been working very well I don't know what we would do if we didn't have out the Sierra veterinary clinic and their staff all the vet spectacular even have a veterinary chiropractor they do all animals farm animals domestic.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Our fur babies had the best care. When we had to put them down Dr. Bratcher was so caring and compassionate. We would recommend this veterinarian hospital to everyone we know. Thank you all for your wonderful services.

Two weeks ago I had to put my friends dog down. All of the people here treat you like you are part of their family…because to them you are. Two days ago, I found myself here again with my 16 year old pitbull. She received a throughout examination and we were out the door. My dog will probably outlive me.

The Staff and Dr. Bell were professional and thorough. They even took the time to call local pharmacies to find the lowest prices on our dogs medications

The people at Alta Sierra Veterinary Hospital really care about your pets. And they are always willing to help, answer your questions and find the best way to help you with your pets needs. Having 4 pets I’m glad I take them here for all of Their needs! My pets and I always feel welcomed. It might take a little time with how busy they are. But as expected with a place that is so popular. Thank you to all the Doctors and their staff!

I have never seen a grosser case of negligence in my entire life. If you’re reading reviews I’m hoping you are a fellow pet lover. If so please heed my warning in NEVER taking your pet to this veterinarian. I had the misfortune of working with not one but two incompetent vets that prolonged my pets suffering unnecessarily. My cat was only six months old and started to feel unwell. I promptly made an appointment where he was seen and admitted for the WRONG issue. Next day he was released with caution signs to watch out for. When these signs started to present themselves I called the emergency number and was told it wasn’t an issue for that night and it could be addressed the following day. The next day he was seen for more fluid injections and I was told “Not to call unless he’s dying.” That evening and following morning the warning signs were still present and I went to the clinic at 8:40 am. By 5:00 pm three different theories had been passed to me, my cat had been given emergency surgery for something that could have been seen upon my first appointment three days earlier and had a 5% chance of making it off the table. I was advised that both the doctor and surgeon recommended euthanasia. I did not question cost at any point because the goal was to keep my family member. Instead of was left with $1600.00 gone and a whole in my heart. Do. Not. Take. Your. Pet. Here. Ps. I was mailed a not so heartfelt letter after requesting otherwise that included multiple misspellings of my pets name and a paw print taken post passing. This is disgusting.

We had an urgent care need with our Golden. We were able to secure an appointment same day, even though we are from out of the area. The doctor, techs, and front office staff were fantastic. They took a lot of time with our girl and sent us home with supplies that helped us to be able to handle her care at our vacation spot. Highly recommend (and I’m pretty picky!????)

We bring all 4 dogs we own to this facility. You may not get in the same day, but reasonably, we do get in. Their prices are, what we feel, on the high side, but one of our dogs had a lot of issues from his allergies and skin infection. The vets are very knowledgeable and spend as much time with you as you need. The staff, I also found to be friendly, knowledgeable and kind.

I used to go to Cali's Spay and Neuter Vet and I wish they were still open for business they got to see my puppy grow from 7 weeks to full grown. At Alta Sierra, the vets were overwhelmed with my 8 month 55lb hound pup. They were not able to handle him or his nose sniffing everywhere. Despite my direct response that my hound only knows Navajo commands, the vets were trying to teach him English. He also knows physical ques, so when they thought they taught him "sit" he just knows the hand commands. I also told them he got all his puppy shots at Cali's, but they didn't believe me and told me to self vaccinate him, but its my fault I didn't bring his records. I didn't get a 1st time fee which was cool. I got a sample Netgaurd flee protection containing 1 pill at no cost. The examination fee was $66. And they gave me antibiotics for my puppy's lip sores. The next day they called to ask how he took his pill which was also good. Also got a $3 fee for biohazard disposal after getting his bortedella shot. Another good thing is they showed me the payment plan before they worked on my puppy so I can prioritize for my budget. My biggest issues was how they treated me. I was about to walk out but I been waiting to have my dog seen so couldn't afford to do so. They did waste my time by saying my pup needs obedience training and had only YouTube video recommendations and said the only training was in Phoenix 3 hours away for a highly costly price. I told them I already did obedience triaing with him with a personal trainer and his commands are in Navajo and the vets didn't know Navajo. I understand Navajo language isn't world wide, but it isn't dead. The vets didn't understand me so its best for me to find somewhere different and closer.

I just moved into the area, wasn't sure who to take my three cockatiels to. Read all reviews and decided to give Dr. Bell a try and scheduled appointments for all three cockatiels. I read all the rating of the Veterinary Clients here in Show Low areas. I know there was some not so good but I decided Alta Sierra Veterinary Hospital still had the best reports. The staff and Dr. Bell treated us very kindly, friendly and very professional. I was quite impressed how they cared for and treated my three cockatiels. Front staff was just as friendly as the assistant to Dr. Bell. I will certainly return with my three cockatiels again. Thank you, Marlene J.

They were able to get our Dahlia in same day on Monday. We had called Sunday and texted a picture of her open elbow wound and they gave good advice. Was able to leave her so I could get back to the office. We have been taking our furry family to them for years.

Very disrespectful...discriminated against my kennel because we breed American bullies, was told they dont do payment plans or work for free when we called about an emergency . I never mentioned not having the money or ask about a price at all

Really? Called over the weekend...for an emergency, and I was told to call Monday for urgent care service. I called at opening...was put on hold for 20 mins, then told they were booked up already. I'm definitely not impressed.

I am amazed at how far above and beyond the staff here went to take care of my pet and another emergency that came in. I had a wait because of the emergency but they gave Walter the same loving and thorough care when it was his turn, despite the fact that they were no longer open. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

A few weeks ago, we found ourselves in the distressing situation of being on a roadtrip far from home and with a very sick, elderly dog experiencing a medical crisis. Despite the fact that we did not have an appointment, and it was peak time on a Monday, the kind folks at Alta Sierra, hearing of our pet's condition, agreed to fit us in as a walk-in. We knew that it could take a while, as they were clearly very busy, but they very kindly processed our paperwork, directed us to the pet relief area, and showed us where to access water for our girl. We were very struck by the fact that, despite our being from out of town, and these folks not being "our vets" they were warm and welcoming and made us like we were - albeit briefly - part of the Alta Sierra family. Sadly, our old girl was in serious distress, and the difficult decision to end her suffering was made. The staff could not have been kinder or more gentle with our old girl - and with us. We will be endlessly grateful to the amazing staff at Alta Sierra - for their sweet words, thoughtful card, and much treasured paw print. The quality of their service - particularly for a drop-in out of towner - was unparalleled and we would not hesitate to sing their praises to anyone in need of excellent veterinary care - and kindness.
