Sam and the VCA staff have been very helpful. After talking with 5 vet services for emergency care, Sam was kind and understanding.

I've been taking my dog to VCA for a while, and it's sad to say that I will no longer be going there. They're COVID procedures are harsh not just on the people that take their animals in but also on their pets. I realize there's a pandemic but have a little heart for the people that bring their animals in, in some cases It's the only family they have and they want to be there right next to them and that makes the owner at ease, but it also makes their furry friend feel at ease. Please come up with a better system so pet owners don't have to wait outside.. Thank you all the staff at VCA for everything you have done for me and my pet

After watching them turn away a dog that was having a seizure , I left. Shows me that I can't have my dogs around that incompetence. I hope that dog is okay and I'm sending positive thoughts to the lady and the man that brought in the dog.

I brought my girl here for an urgent visit without an appointment and they were able to get her scheduled that day. Our tech Julie and our Vet, Dr. DeCamp were great! They were wonderful and concerned with her and followed up often. All their staff has always been wonderful. We have our new Vet home. We were turned away at Banfield inside Petsmart at 59th and Northern because we did not have an appointment, even for an urgent issue, and all without any concern and compassion. My girl was visibly sick and Banfield was horrible.

EVERYTIME, I have called this place I could not be seen or redirected somewhere else. NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE It is unclear what you would like to talk to me about. Being turned away has happened multiple times. Unfortunately, we cannot plan on our pets emergencies your hospital is right near me. 5 times I have been turned away. How do you fix that ?

The price is right. I wish we could start waiting back inside. Spending an hour + in the parking lot is getting rough.

Dr. Martin treats me nothing but respect and she treats my fur babies kindly. She's a good people and animal person. She's very informative and professional. I TRUST her with my fur babies! YOU ARE SO AWESOME... THANK YOU DR. MARTIN ‼️ Nick goes way beyond what he has to do. My babys hair was all matted and he cleaned her up for me and didn't charge me at all!! He is very professional and treats my babies so good. THANK YOU NICK FOR BEING SO KIND TO ME AND HELPING MY BABY‼️

I waited a good 2 hrs for something I already knew. I thought I'd take my dog there because I needed a second opinion but what I got were only what was gonna cost me more money. Being on a budget is hard. My dog has a collasped trachea plus I'm sure of it asthma. I got no medicine for t bgg e asthma, the stuff they gave me isnt working because they gave me same stuff the first place did. I dont recommend them but to each their own. My dogs in pain, coughing, gagging, uncomfortable. I hate it and only want her to be able to play. To be herself. Help! What do I do?

Hi there! I never leave reviews on google but I had a terrible experience with this location and hadn't even been here yet.On the way to the appointment I realized I needed my pet's paperwork in order to receive the 'free check-up' they offer for pets recently adopted from the humane society. I called to confirm if I even needed to bring it as no one from the clinic told me that I would need it. I politely let them know that I'd be five minutes late and the lady at the front desk made it clear to me that there there would be no exceptions if I arrived later than my appointment time (even 5 minutes) and that the soonest they could take me was in TWO WEEKS...aka after the 'free checkup' appointment would not be available to me anymore and I would have to pay. Extremely disappointed at the lack of empathy this lady and location showed as my cat has been having minor allergy issues that I was looking forward to getting checked out today. I understand that their time is important and that is why I had left early in the first place. I would've paid the full amount just to keep my appointment time for today since I waited two weeks to get an appointment, and now I have to seek a new vet to go to as I will not be a customer at this location after this experience. It's a shame that I did not feel they cared about my appointment because of the fact that I was qualified for a 'free check-up.

I am not the type to only leave bad reviews. Also I believe in giving more than one chance before forming an opinion. My first experience was a few years and it was horrible. I had called prior to going so I didn't have to waste time since time was already running out for my daughter's chinchilla. The woman i spoke with was wonderful. She understood the urgency and told me when we got there to tell them at the front desk she said to just bring it back while i filled out the paperwork. We arrived and the girl up front just argued with me. By the time i finished the paperwork my daughter was holding her dead pet. All i received was an apology and a traumatized child. Just this past week I called because my service dog(best friend/lifeline) was not doing well and I live near the animal hospital now. figured Id give them one more shot. Explained the urgency as im in tears and was told to find somewhere else that they couldn't get him in until February but from what i explained to her it sounds like he needs to be seen within the next 24 hours. I thought it was an animal hospital that accepted emergencies not just vet appointments.WTH!! Wow! SMH!

This company is profit driven! Every time I visit it's Always more money, more test, more vaccines, not saying there are unintelligent, but they could care less about you or your pet, they have one goal in mind $$$. They lack simple communication skills purposely to wait till your at their location to hit you with all the extra they "require". I will never bring my pet back nor should anyone reading this. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET ONLY MONEY! To prove it, the last visit I attended, I wrote down everything they said they could use or would be using... I accepted only part of a treatment, b/c of money issues, a shampoo and ear wash, but found everything else on Amazon, my $1200 bill dropped to less than $200 including my last visit with them. They take advantage of people who only want help for their pet. Don't trust them do your homework!

Brought my adopted sog here, they treated him kindly and made the process easy on him despite the fact that he had to go to his appointment alone as I waited in the car. The vet seemed knowledgeable and she read and understood all his medical notes which made me feel confident in the care he received.

This is an edit as of 12/15: I am reducing this review to one star due to the CareClub. Our kitten has died. She was misdiagnosed at VCA Northern and unfortunately by the time the correct diagnosis was determined there was very little that could be done. Ultimately this is not entirely their fault. The disease she suffered from is notoriously difficult to diagnose and nearly impossible to treat in the US. However as stated above I am reducing this review to one star due to the CareClub. I was mistaken in my prior review. Even if your pet dies, you are still required to pay the entire amount of your Care Club membership. In fact upon closer reading if you terminate the membership due to your pet passing away, you not only must pay the entire payment, but if the prices of services received while under the CareClub exceed the cost of the CareClub you are required to pay the difference. This is contrary to what the vet techs told us when purchasing the plan and is predatory at best. To the owner claiming that I am not in their client database: my client number is #18003. Claiming I am not a client when you called and emailed me shortly after posting your response is, well, it is about what I have come to expect from VCA. Original review follows: The good: doctors are knowledgeable and treat their patients well. The bad: I've had a two interactions with front desk staff since the onset of covid where they have been less than professional, including one instance where I sat in my car, calling the office while having it go to voicemail for about 20 minutes. I finally connected 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. They then sent someone out who accused me of not answering my phone, which was frankly quite ironic. The main issue I have with this Animal Hospital however is their availability along with their care plan. This location has a "Care Club" where you pay a monthly fee, and it covers regular vaccines, microchip, fecal parasite screening, initial diagnoses and a yearly wellness check. It is a decent value on paper. Vaccines can be expensive, and having the peace of mind knowing you can bring your pet in to get an idea of what the issue could be is valuable. However that peace of mind is an illusion. I have had a few health scares with my cats, both of whom are signed up for the care plan. I assumed that paying a monthly fee for a plan that is supposed to cover an initial exploration of the issue I'd be able to get them in to the animal hospital within 3, maybe 5 days at the most. Unfortunately each time I have called with an issue I have been told that the next available appointment is 2 to 3 weeks away, which is frankly an impossible length of time when you have an animal that is sick. There is an emergency location in Scottsdale that gives a discount if you are a member, however that is quite the distance to travel with a nervous, sick animal. Unfortunately their Care Club cancellation policy is also quite impossible. If you wish to cancel you have to pay the entire year's remaining balance at once. The only caveat is if your pet dies. On balance if you have a primarily healthy pet this is probably an okay place to go, but if your companion may be prone to sudden or unexpected illness you should likely find another vet, or network with better availability.
