Do Not go here!!! You will get a quote over the phone and then get charged much more with no explanation. I had a wellness plan and was told I could Not cancel as I would be charged thru the end of the year no matter what. I decided to Not cancel until the end of year so I could continue to use the benefits if needed. I went to get her teeth cleaning and was Never told the plan was canceled. Overcharged again!!! Unless you have money to throw out Do Not trust these people!!!

The staff at Banfield at Desert Ridge are awesome. My 3 dogs have been going to Banfield for 8 years and always received excellent care.

I've been taking my dogs to Banfield (Dr. Gross is awesome) and now my cats, as well. They've always been very helpful and showed infinite patience and kindness when I had to let one of my dogs go. The wellness plans have been a great value for me and make it helpful to make appointments for things I might overlook or forget about.

The doctors and staff are generally friendly and professional, but the check-in process is often lengthy and tedious....

I have been more than understanding of the need for drop off appointments during Covid the last year and a half, but at some point, this vet office needs to start opening up again for in person appointments. I don't feel comfortable leaving my dog in a cage all day waiting for a Doctor to see her and me not being able to be there physically for an examination. She gets anxiety and it's just unnecessary. All I needed this time was a rabies vaccine. There there's no reason why I should have to drop my dog off all day just to get a shot. To maintain customers, you're going to need to have more in person appointments available. When trying to book one today, the soonest they could get me in was mid August for a simple shot. I hope that more in person appointments will open up soon or we will be searching for a new vet office once our wellness plan is up.

Dr. Duthie is a very caring and competent veterinarian. She took time out of her busy day to explain everything to me. I drive 15 miles to go to this particular Banfield.

I have been taking my cats to Banfield for a couple of years now. This location is a little further home for me than another but the vets and vet techs there are so amazing and nice. They explain everything really well and do everything they can to help my cats. My cats love everybody there and all the attention they get.

Big chain. Small feeling. It's like a local vet/store in your neighborhood.

Waited all day. My granddaughter brought her dog in for a 9:30 appointment for a check up and the dog was there all day. Wasn't ready until 4:30.

We've been going here for many years now. They've helped with a diabetic cat, and brought him back to life once for us after a diabetic coma almost took him. And an end of life experience with another favored kat.Very "pet people" here. They love what they do here, it shows.

I did not see anyone at Banfield Pet hospital. I shopped at Petsmart for dog food.

I believe in being fair and honest in my reviews. I'm not one to judge a company on just one bad experience or the last experience (even though that one was bad). My dog recently passed away after 14 yrs. I have been with Banfield for 14 years so I believe I can make a fair assessment. About 50% of the time I've been satisfied, the other 50%...not so much. There's vets I've liked and other vets...not so much. The first location I went to, the turnover was atrocious. Every time I found a vet I liked, they disappeared within 6 months to a year so me and my dog were constantly having to get reacquainted with someone new. Same with the vet techs. There were some vets I felt pushed unnecessary tests and products (like prescription dog food) and other vets who were straight shooters and only ever recommended what was necessary. Have you ever seen the number of pet names on the board when you go to Banfield? How can you really "know" that many dogs or their owners? If you read the reviews by employees on Glassdoor or Indeed you'll notice a theme of quantity over quality. The fact that I can't get in for a same day appointment ever frustrates me beyond belief. Take a UTI for example, not life threatening, certainly not something you'd need to go to an emergency vet for but also something you don't want your dog to suffer with a minute longer than they have to. Nope, can't get in. I don't place the blame on the vets but by the corporate culture that pushes and rewards the vets based on number of pets seen. Now let's talk about the wellness plans. Make sure you read the fine print and know that if your dog passes you are responsible for the rest of the payments until the next renewal date. I did know this going in. However what I take issue with is the fact that I'm paying for the most expensive plan (special care) and I have used NONE of the special care features yet this year and when I called after my dog passed to try and downgrade to the next cheaper plan, I was basically told I'm out of luck. I explained why I thought it was a perfectly reasonable request and was told he couldn't understand my logic. No empathy, no understanding. No compassion. Not even an attempt at trying to come to some type of resolution. This after 14 years!!! Why should I continue paying for the special care plan when I haven't and won't use any of those features. All I wanted was to be downgraded to a plan that was reasonable and still covered everything I had used. Also when I asked to speak to a manager, it was refused. After going back and forth, the rep finally transferred me to voicemail and when I tried to leave a message, the automated voice said it could not hear me and hung up. I fully believe the rep was still on the phone and had us on mute so I could not leave a message. What a way to end a 14 yr business relationship. My personal advice would be to get pet insurance (highly recommend Healthy Paws) immediately upon welcoming a dog into your life and take them to a local, independent vet. Someone who will be around for awhile and who will know you and your dog when you come in and most of all...CARE. You will be lucky to find that at Banfield.
