I'm glad we had the option to wait there with our pet or to have her in her own kennel. I didn't realize there was sound proofing to help with 'scaredy cats'. Everyone was very friendly. We were able to come in on a weekend without an …

All the staff here are all very courteous. The desk staff were polite and attentive. The doctors were knowledgeable did a good job of explaining our options.

I felt like both the tech and doctor were very helpful, explained everything perfectly. We received a follow-up call after to discuss x-ray's, I felt that once again the communication was clear.. I always recommend this clinic when friends ask where we take our pets.

Although we had a very short experience with them, I appreciated how much they took care of my baby Hugo and us. We brought him in but it was unfortunately too late. They brought us to a room where we could say our goodbye. We truly appreciated what you guys have done. We just received his paw prints with a card that has handwritten messages from the staff. If need be, we’ll be bringing our 2 other dogs here. Thank you all for what you have done.

I started taking my cat who had reoccurring problems to first pet. Over the span of 3 we seemed to be at the emergency room at least once every 3 months. They must have a high employee turn over. Every time I came in I had to tell them his history it was like they did not keep any records. Never saw the same doctor or even the same receptionist. I ended up having to put my cat down. Then my dog had an infection in her face that literally got worse overnight so at 3 am I had no choice and was at 1 st pet once again. Different receptionist and doctors. They gave her a prescription for the infection, some anti- inflammatory and pain meds. So we finished all of the medication they gave us and there is still a little swollen area between her eyes ( where the infection started. ) I called to get another dose of antibiotics I am told I would have to make a recheck or follow up appt but they don’t have any “reg” appts open I would have to be seen as an emergency. I would not recommend this over priced vet to anyone find another emergency vet!!!

My little Duncan was in pain and like most dogs he was terrified to be at the hospital. Everyone was sympathetic and helpful. He was triaged right away even though they were busy. The dr was very clear about Duncan's issues and treatment choices. He didn't try to talk me into extra services which wouldn't have changed the course of his treatment. Of course this all happened in the middle of the night and I left a medication out of the refridge. When I called to have it refilled they were super nice about it. I'm so grateful they were there to help us.

Took my dog here late at night because I thought he ate something. They advised me to X-rays and an ultra sounds. I was told they they usually do both as they go hand in hand. $$$$!!! I agreed and when they came back they said they found what was in his intestine via ultra sound right away and even though I couldn't see a thing in the pictures they showed me (but still did X-rays to take my money) they then stated that he needed emergency surgery and quoted me close to $7000.00. When I said I could not do that much money the Vet left and I never saw him again. The nurse check in after and asked me how much I could do because "sometimes they can help out" She left and I didn't see anyone for close to an hour and a half and when they did come back it was a new nurse because they had a shift change apparently. I asked if she forgot about us and she said "oh, sorry." She came in with discharge paperwork and I said " Last I heard the other woman was going to see what they can do for my dog? She had no idea what I was talking about and said that she would ask the Dr. She came back in and said that the doctor said to save my money for someone who could do the surgery cheaper and sent me on my way with a very sick dog. I spent close to $800.00 just to hear that my dog needed emergency hospitalization and surgery, but thankfully my dog is home and doing better already without any $7000.00 surgery. I feel after they knew I wasn't going to be able to afford that much, I was low on their priority list and the lack of compassion from there showed. I will never go there again even in an emergency!

I wish I could give a zero. They would not see my dog until I made a doctor appointment with their vets which, I did even though I was only taking my dog in for a grooming service. Since she is an older dog, I went ahead snd made the appointment. No one told me that because she was seen in the past at deer creek that I could not get my dog seen unless it was an after hour emergency. They have some kind of back door agreement with deer creek. When I called deer creek they advised they never heard of this policy. So here I am caught in between this unprofessional establishment holding me hostage to not get my dog seen where I choose to have my dog seen. And on top of it all the front desk help wants to argue and patronize me and tell me deer creek is aware of this policy which I guess they feel like they don’t have to disclose to the patients owners???? I didn’t sign anything saying I won’t take my dog to deer creek or Vice versa. Dont use this place they are a rip off and unprofessional.

I can't imagine what it feels like to be ripping people off at such a high rate. Price gouging at its finest! Really? A Vet appt is $200 just for an exam? It's like these people have no empathy, values or moral compass. Just plain disgusting

We did have to wait a while (5-hours) - and while i totally understand the priority of emergent cases, it would have been appreciated to have been kept informed. The staff was wonderful - friendly and caring. Dr. Kung was fabulous and spent a good amount of time with Maggie to diagnose a UTI.

From the time I came in, they were all incredibly comforting, competent and attentive to my sick pup and I. They made an incredibly stressful situation much more tolerable. I’m incredibly grateful for Dr. Kung and the staff there! They somehow keep cordial and happy attitudes to be in situations that I can only imagine are draining and difficult.

We recently went through an unexpected loss of a pet and 1st pet was where we did end of life services. They were beyond thoughtful and explained the process very thoroughly. They made it painless for my poor Jobin, and I know that he was very comfortable in his last moments. I just received a card with his inked paw prints and it was signed by the whole team. Although it was a horrific thing to go through, I am glad I chose 1st pet. Thank you all for your kindness and empathy through a terrible time.

Just had to take my pup here for vomiting and being lethargic, Ofcourse she wasn’t high priority as they are triage (which I understood). The staff took her back and got her vitals, after about four hours they let her in the room with me so we could wait for the vet together. She seemed bright and responsive as compared to earlier so I decided to pass on taking the vets time away from other pets. They gave me a full refund since she didn’t see the vet. Staff is incredibly nice and have great communication. I’d recommend them to anyone who needs an emergency vet.

Had an emergency with my puppy and they took care of her and provided excellent care. They have treated 2 of my dogs and now my puppy and I am extremely happy with their service from the receptionists to the techs and Vet. They have always been nice, caring and attentive I highly recommend them to anyone.

For a “Emergency veteran” you would think the prices would be better. Walked out of the building because it was going to cost 200 dollars just to get my pup seen.

Riley is not always the friendliest to strangers, however, from the start he was totally comfortable with everyone there. When they went to take him to the back he went with not hesitation and didn’t even look back as us. It was a great experience for all of us.

The only reason it's 2 stars and not 1 is that the first time we had to take my pup here she was treated amazing. This time not so much. She has masses on her stomach. The first time one opened and was bleeding they took her in and in about 5 hours had her looked at and surgery to remove the bleeding one and others around it for preventative. Was told the other ones were ok for now but if one bleeds bring her back to have removed. So one opened we called. They said no appointments for weeks but if it's actively bleeding bring her in on emergency and they would do the same as what was in her file from last time. It was actively bleeding we brought her in. Paid the $200 they took her this time and told us they'd look at her in 4 to 5 hours. Hour 6 we called. They said she was second in line. An hour later we got a call saying nothing is bleeding, they don't do mass removal on emergency and don't know why the last doc even took care of it. The triage nurse knew which one was bleeding. We were told they didn't know, couldn't tell didn't seem to be an issue. Went picked her up. Still dried blood all down her leg and stomach from bleeding. Guess we wait now till she just bleeds out. What a waste of money and a day for them to not care and ignore everything said. Whatever staff and doc was here before was amazing. This set don't communicate or chart right or care. I'll go clean up the blood now.

I really wish I had a positive review. My dog had runny bloody mucus coming from his nose and I was concerned he had distemper or a bad infection. My daughter and I took him at 10 am. After checking us in. We waited 8 hours to be seen. By …

I'm sure its a good place and all, if you pay them what they want that is. I would have thought maybe in this field of work you would have a tad bit of compassion. I wouldn't bother asking about a payment plan of any sort that's just not something they do I was told not even a good once over with my dog(bad dog attack). That being said if your hard up on the means to fork over everything at once don't waste the time because that's how it seemed. The blonde lady this evening does warrant recognition she was very kind and helpful. I apologize that I can not remember your name.

Will not return, my chihuahua had a broken paw and 1st place was the only vet open due to it being later in the evening. Once they got us to a room they stated a $200 deposit would be needed in order for them to give me a diagnosis only thing they were able to tell me was her paw was broken. Nothing on how they planned to correct and what my potential total cost would be. I asked for the Doctor to get this info and they were not present or available at the time. I understand each company has their policies and procedures however, it’s possible to show compassion while following basic protocol and this location lacked of it along with just common politeness. I left due to feeling their only concern was payment. If your pup/dog/cat is stable enough to wait for medical attention please wait and find a cost effective location where the provide top notch service and keep you informed the entire way.

My 14 y/o dog had a seizure/stroke at 3:15 am 11/29. Drove to the 24/7 emergency vet we had used 3 times before. Called ahead and automatically placed on hold with the recorded message they were helping other customers. I was on hold for 25 minutes driving there. They turned out not to be open. No indication on the door or signage indicating they were closed. No outdoor bell, as indicated on the window, to obtain assistance thinking someone was in the back. Drove to 1st Pet Vet North Valley (another 25 minutes) and was taken right in. Prompt assessment and the Vet, Carine Otto, quickly came in and explained our options. We ended up putting him down. Everything was handled promptly, professionally and with compassion.

I was very stressed when I brought my dog in but they took her back right away to check her out. I loved how they gave complimentary snacks especially since I ended up being there for awhile. Even though they were very busy, I never felt like the staff was rushed. They took time to listen to me and do the best treatment for my dog. Also I loved the atmosphere. They had fish tanks throughout and beautiful artwork which helped eased my nerves.

We were incredibly impressed by our visit. It was our first time needing an emergency clinic in this area and we thought everyone was excellent. We are so happy to know that such a capable facility is near if we ever have another emergency.

During the last few days of my cats life, I know he was cared for and loved in the time he was there. He was an an emergency visit, so the price is what I expected given that circumstance and his treatment as well. Though a traumatic experience by itself, they made the process less painful for me and the way they handled everything with me and him was amazing, especially the card that had been sent of his whiskers and paw prints and fur. Let me stay with my cat for about 6 hours until I decided it was his time to be at rest, and they occasionally popped in to check if things were okay and if we needed water or anything. I miss my cat dearly, but I thank them for being there for him during his time and being delicate yet realistic about everything happening with my baby boy. Thank you so much, to the doctors that were there for christopher.

I can not say enough positive things about my experience today at 1st Pet with Hanna Wachtel, DVM. She immediately treated my cat, Safari’s emergency. She made me feel confident about her diagnosis and treatment the entire time, and helped Safari immediately. Very thankful for her professionalism, promptness, compassion and talent in saving my cat!
