Ghost Town Dog Rescue Mesa, Arizona

We adopted a puppy from Ghost Town and it was an excellent experience. With a deposit, they held the pup so we would have time to go have a meet and greet with her. We were able to bring our dog as well to make sure they were good together. The price was reasonable and it included shots, chip, spay, toy, a leash and harness. Now we just have to potty train her... We are so happy to have her in our family. She has brought the puppy out in our older dog and our kids will grow up with her. Thank you Ghost Town!

I adopted 1st dog year ago May from Ghost Town just adopted 2nd rescue yesterday. I both cases the dogs had been abused WHO DOES THAT BEATS A DOG?!?! ????????‍♂️ Ghost Town is the shelter from the storm VERY nice people run this place the dogs come fixed, caught up on shots, nails trimmed, chipped, leash, collar, harness and provided the 1st wave for loving humanity IN AN UGLY WORLD ???? When you are ready for a dog go to Ghost Town in both cases all that was needed was TLC and a stable home Ghost Town kicked the ball forward I'm super thankful for my pack and Ghost Town ????????????????

Immense gratitude for this rescue. We got Bimini weeks ago and she has fit perfectly into our family—the most adaptable, mellow, silly dog. I can’t thank you enough for connecting us to her and making the process so easy.

We adopted our new 10 month old lil Bishop from Ghost Town Dog Rescue and could not be happier. It was a bit of a transition as he had some past trauma but everyone was very helpful and walked us through the entire process to acclimate him to our family. If you are looking for a new family addition I would highly recommend them.

We adopted Tucson on Saturday. She has adjusted just fine. She gets along pretty well with our cat and birds. We are working on potty training, she has the doggy door figured out already. Everyone at Ghost Town was friendly and helpful. Will use them again if we decide to get another dog.

The most responsive and helpful dog rescue! I adopted my baby Venus from here and Liza the founder has been so helpful in answering my questions about puppy health over email. The process was super easy and the puppy is in great health and was well cared for before I got her. The shelter was super clean too. If I have a question I can’t find an answer about puppy health and training on google I ask them and they respond within the day. The puppy is microchipped and goes back to the shelter if they’re lost or surrendered which tells me they really care about the puppy’s wellbeing. I am very grateful for the smooth experience adopting my baby!

I want to visit to see the dogs they have available. They say look at the website. When I do the dogs are already adopted. Don't know why I can't tell them what I'm looking for and they contact me if they get a dog I want. Customer service has gone out the window.

I finally found my place! I am picky and they met all the standards.

I came in on April 24, to get this cute adorable puppy. Due to my office being closed on Saturday and Sunday where I live I couldn’t get the paperwork to them. I had asked them how long it took to get the registration for the dog? They simple told me 7-10 days business days which is understandable. But due to living an apartment were I could get evicted if on site people saw me with the dog because I needed to turn in the paperwork before the dog coming into the house. I simple explained this to them and I got a rude response and had me in tears. The guys simply told me that is there emergency number you could call? I simple told them no because it’s on a Saturday and they are closed. Didn’t even give me a chance to have them keep the dog for one day until I get hold of the office and explain my situation. They simple were rude, after that. The lady told me she was getting my refund back to me. I said would it possible if you kept the refund until I can find another dog? She messaged me simply saying that won’t have the same issue with the landlord. Or you didn’t like the dog? They didn’t even give me a chance to talk. They were simply rude and arguing with me. it sad because I had my heart set in this dog and he was a perfect match for me. Later I go on Facebook to find out they had blocked me on there page were i couldn’t get another chance and sent me my $250 back. After response, Thank you for the response. No, I never asked for the dog to be under my name before the adoption was finalized. I specificiallly asked the guy in front how would it work after i adopted him. I also explained my situation and asked if you guys can keep him on hold until monday so i can talk to the person incharge of the office for the puppy. He told me he would talk to the lady in back and gave a rudely answer. I posted on the go gilbert i also said rescues in it after you guys gave me my refund back. I have the messages to prove it. It was really hurtful what you guys did. I have never gotten a response that rudely from a person specially a resuce. I also have the messages to prove what you said to me. I had left Ghost Town Dog rescue at 12:50. I will be explaining this situation to SPCA and state of arizona as well.

My husband and I found our precious, trouble-making love of our lives here. The dogs seem well cared for and extremely loved before you even adopt them. The people who work here have the vibe that they genuinely care for these pups, and want the best for them. I recommend this place to everyone I know who is thinking about adopting a dog.

Terrific experience! Found a terrific furry addition to our family. Very organized and pleasant experience. Discovered other neighbors and friends have adopted their pupps from Ghost Town Dog Rescue. Recommend them highly to assist on your search for new addition to your family.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Ghost town dog rescue. Words can’t even begin to describe the gratitude I have for Liza, Ray, and all the staff for the way they went above and beyond to help my family find our forever fur baby. If I am ever looking for another addition to my family I would certainly reach out to them first and I would recommend anyone searching for a dog to add to their family to check GTDR first. They have such caring and companionate staff who are very knowledgeable and the dogs health and safety is their number one priority. From the second you reach out to them to bringing your new dog home they sure know how to make adopting a dog a pleasant experience where you feel supported throughout the whole process.

My wife and I Kathy went to the site which I’m so sorry I didn’t even know was at the corner of Val Vista and Main? We do now because we had a 13 year old Lhasa Opsa/ Poodle mix pass away. My wife to my surprise wanted to adopt and she found Ghost Town on the internet and thank goodness we found our little girl who had been pregnant and had two puppies after they found her in the desert matted and in bad shape. But fortunately Ghost Town was totally a savior for her and puppies. We were holding her two puppies but when another couple wanted a puppy we glanced over at a kennel and saw the little mother! Well we gave up the puppies and adopted who we named Bambi. She was glued to my wife but must have been abused by a man or men? But after time I got her to give me a chance. Now she’s such a phenomenal blessing for us and loves our 10 year old PitBull Hershey. They’re best friends and is my wife’s shadow constantly and a total house alarm for us no one can even walk by our home without Bambi let us know but at 9 1/2 pounds she thinks she’s a huge lion! But Ghost Town has been so awesome not just to Bambi and us but other friends of ours that we’ve sent to them to also adopt! Hopefully anyone looking for a great pet will visit Ghost Town and visit with Ray and Liza who are incredibly special to the pets and adopters! Warm regards, Jason & Kathy Marton

My husband and I found Lyra on the Petfinder app, because we were really wanting to adopt. We were SO lucky to find Lyra at Ghost Town! We reached out to them about her and had a response the same day. We were able to meet and pick her up 4 days later and it was a perfect match! The workers at Ghost Town were so friendly and helpful! They notified us that Lyra came down with a little cough and runny nose so they provided us with 2 weeks worth of medication at no charge! You can tell that Ghost Town really cares about their animals and their customer service. Even after, if we had any questions, we received a rapid response. Lyra seemed very cared for and fit into our family so perfectly, its like she's always been with us!

Great place for humans hearts to be rescued by dogs.

I got a labradoodle Australian shepherd mix here two weeks ago during am event the shelter had going on. Everyone here is super nice and very helpful and knowledgeable. My dog is healthy and happy! These people are doing great work!

We have adopted two wonderful dogs here. I highly recommend if want a dog to get one from here and not a breeder or pet store.

Thank you so much Ghost Town Dog Rescue! We love our new family member very much ???? She's such a delight. So snuggly! When she's not playing, she loves curling up on our laps and falls asleep ???? GTDR is an excellent rescue organization. They are prompt at responding to inquiry, and they are very kind, and professional. It is clear that they love and care for the dogs that come into their care.They have a lovely facility too. We have continually received support from GTDR, as our sweet little puppy settled in with us. They are a gem. We do recommend them highly. Thank you again!

Ghost Town Dog Rescue is extremely helpful, clean, professional, and knowledgeable. They provided quick responses to my questions and were patient with me throughout the whole process. I would confidently recommend this rescue and absolutely would adopt from them again!

I met 2 people from Ghost Town rescue at the Tempe spay and neuter clinic when I dropped off my dog to be fixed and again when I picked her up. They had 3 little puppies being fixed too. One of the puppies was carried in a blanket by them. I could tell how much they really cared about these puppies. I live a block from the rescue and it is a nice clean place. Keep up the good work and keep loving the dogs you rescue.

I have adopted 3 dogs from Ghost Town. All have been great and became a part of our family instantly. The staff is outstanding and the facility is very clean. The animals receive great care and are not allowed toleave until they are healthy and ready for a new family.

Great place! We found our rescue puppy through this shelter. They did an amazing job with helping him get back to being healthy and ready for his furever home! We love our new puppy and have named him Cashew!
