This organization is God sent. I haven't brought in a pet yet, and hope I never have to but I've heard but good about the work you do. I thank you from the bottom of my ❤️

"Debbie" denied our adoption of a Lab mix puppy application because we do not have a fenced back yard. By doing so, she is implying that we are not responsible dog owners. We live in an area with coyotes where you absolutely DO NOT leave a dog unattended, fence or no fence! We have lived in the Gold Canyon Area for 8 years and have NEVER lost a pet because our pets do NOT go outside alone and left unattended! We have adopted rescue dogs and cats most of our adult lives. This year after retiring we formed a 501C3 and will be opening up a non profit thrift store to benefit local shelters, and individuals who care for unwanted pets. We have worked tirelessly all summer picking up donations for our new store all at our own expense that will benefit rescue animals medical needs. Rules were made to be bent in the best interest of the animal, and after first sending us a congratulatory email after they took our money, the application, then a denial email got no further communication from her organization. My wife, who has a tender heart, broke down and started crying and said: "Of all the people to deny the application, they couldn't have done any worse." I STRONGLY recommend that rather than using her agency, that you go directly to the Pinal County Animal Control shelter where she gets her animals. The shelter is rarely visited and you typically can find breeds that you won't find at other shelters. It's a shame that "Debbie" decided we were not good enough to give an unwanted puppy a forever home. It's a perfect example of how NOT to run an adoption center and by denying our application made a HUGE mistake. We do wish her the best, but STRONGLY recommend you look elsewhere. EDIT: Debbie and her crew have decided what kind of pet owners we are with absolutely NO COMMUNICATION to us on their decision. She stated that they wanted to insure the welfare of the animal by not adopting to a risk situation. There is always risk in any adoption and once an animal is adopted they have no control how the animal is cared for, and cannot be held responsible. We had an animal thrift in California in the 90's, so we're no stranger to animal needs. If she was TRULY sorry she would have called us after we reached out to her numerous times. Instead she and her team decided to STONEWALL us.

I had a great experience adopting our dog from them. They set me up with everything I needed plus more and I did not have to pay one penny. My dog has turned out to be happy, healthy, and well behaved.

In April, our 11 year old Bull Terrier, Jester, passed away from health complications due to old age. When Jester was 6, we adopted 5 month old Daisy, a female Bull Terrier, who had already lived a hard life. Jester was her best friend. She was depressed and lonely after his passing. In June, we adopted Tappy Tibbons, an 8 month old, male Bull Terrier. Tappy and Daisy constantly played, teased each other and zoomed around out back. She was back to her normal self. With Daisy turning 6 soon, and not wanting puppies, we set up an appointment to get her spayed. Daisy seemed fine coming home after her spay, but we noticed abnormal swelling in the following days, continuously reaching out to the vet for advice. Four days later, Daisy was in critical condition and we rushed her to an emergency vet. We were told Daisy’s GI Tract was beginning to fall out of her body through separated and open stitches. The surgery to fix the complication would be $4,000-$10,000 which was unfortunately not in the cards for my family at the time. This is when an honest miracle happened and Follow Your Heart Rescue offered to take over Daisy’s care. The rescue was able to raise donations from fellow dog lovers to provide her with the emergency surgery she desperately needed to live and come back home. My family was a mess dealing with the thought of losing two dogs within a four month time span, but Follow Your Heart did not allow that to happen. Because of them, Daisy is healing, home, and will continue to live a long, happy life with Tappy and the rest of our family.

Love love love this rescue! They’re 100% foster base so you get a true understanding of the dog and it’s personality. They have dogs of all different breeds, aged, and sizes. Debbie (the founder) is the most sweetest, caring, and hard working woman and does her absolute best to make sure all these dogs are loved and well cared for. She also helped me when my dog I adopted from the rescue 6 months before started having grand mal seizures and was rushed to aveccc. It was peak of COVID and my husband had lost his job so money was incredibly tight. Debbie covered both his emergency vet visits and when the time came and we had to say goodbye, Debbie was right by my side. ❤️

My family was denied a puppy because the adoption center felt owner's living in a large 4bedroom apartment aren't fit to be owners. And a puppy living with 4 responsible adults is too much for their puppy. Also, they assumed we would not be able to support his mental health needs and teach him sign language due to potential hearing loss. (they can't tell if the dog is hard of hearing yet or just stubborn.) The only knowledge they have of us was our address and never once interviewed us so how would someone make a proper judgement if we can or cannot provide the safe, healthy home the puppy deserves. He's been on their site since 4/28 and no one has adopted him. Why leave him in foster care when he can have a safe, healthy, happy home...

I got my dogs Millie and Blaze from follow your heart and I couldn’t be happier. I got Millie when she was 9 weeks old and she had already been crate trained and was in her way to being potty trained. Blaze I got at 9 months and he came to me both potty and crate trained. Follow your heart neutered both of them and took care of all of their shots. They gave me all of the information I needed as well as some food and a coupon book to petsmart for both dogs when I adopted them. The fosters that they have for their animals are truly wonder people. To take in all these animals and take such wonderful care of them so that they are ready to go to their forever homes is nothing short of amazing. My dog’s fosters to this day still check on them to see how they are doing. If you’re looking to adopt follow your heart is 100% the way to go.

Everyone we interacted with at Follow Your Heart was very organized. Kate was very professional and helpful when my husband picked up our beloved puppy, formerly Martini (now Hope), and it was clear that Hope was very well taken care of by foster mom Alexis. Hope is now four months old and is comical, playful, cuddly, laid-back, and full of energy, too — such a joy. She bonded with our kids right away and seemed to adjust to her new environment so easily. She is our six year old dog’s new best friend. The tips we received from this organization were all so helpful and can really assist in a dog adjusting to its new home and to retention. We’ve found that keeping her in an x-pen when we are around but unable to be constantly with her is invaluable. When we are away, we put her in her crate. In the morning, we hide a Kong in her pen and use a dog puzzle for some of her food, which she loves to figure out. These activities keep her occupied and intrigued until she’s ready for a nap in her bed or in someone’s arms. To help with puppy nibbling/biting, a dog trainer friend suggested we give her a treat when petting her. This technique can be used to help dogs get used to being touched on the feet, putting on a collar, etc. It’s so important that these dear creatures don’t end up in a shelter, and these tips are so helpful in molding a precious dog that we are so happy to have in our lives for the rest of hers. Thank you so much to the organization for all you do in ensuring your dogs will be healthy and happy.

Don't get excited about any particular dog before their Wednesday posting at 7pm. Dogs sell out literally instantaneously. I lost my dog recently and found a puppy on their website and would visit the page daily to look at her picture but she was "sold out" the instant her profile posted to their website.

Contacted follow your heart animal rescue about a dog on their site. I was unhappy with the process and frustrated that I was not able to adopt the dog I really wanted... due to the fact I was not quick enough in the purchase process. I have since learned the reason for their process and read many reviews. I am comfortable now that this rescue is very reputable and has many happy adopters. I recend any previous comments that I've made about rescue group.
