Hair of the Dog Anchorage, Alaska

I absolutely love this place! Bailey was a rescue and she is shy at first. I take her for daycare weekly and have boarded her here when I am out of town on work trips. She gets SO EXCITED every time we get close to Hair of the Dog. I love being able to watch her on the camera playing with other dogs. She never seems stressed when I pick her up. Thank you Hair of the Dog for providing a fun and safe place for my fur baby. :)

They do not have proper customer service. We loved this place but when they called me the day I’m boarding my dog they said no because vaccine is not up to date. I don’t mind not putting my dog there but the way Sheyenne talked to me is not ok. I should’ve bla bla so seems like I run the place duh. The manager didn’t even know what we were talking and just called me back make me feel we are making bs. Then my husband dropped our dog off and guess what. They said to his face they’re not taking our business after today geez. Sounds like we would ever want to board our dog there. It’s not me don’t understand how important vaccine is but the way they talk is not ok. They don’t care about customer experience and no way they will be a good place for your dogs.

The staff is nice, and they did a decent job with my puppy's haircut. I like them. I haven't boarded my pup or brought him there for day care yet so I only gave 4 stars. but as for grooming they did well

Boarded my dog for only a few days. They fed him the incorrect food and I had to take him to the emergency vet due to the gastrointestinal distress. Owner and manager didn't offer to reimburse for the expense. I got lucky he didn't go into full pancreatitis. Months later, he is still not "better". If your dog has specific needs (special diet, allergies, medications) do not let them board here. Edit after response from owner: yes I was an employee who quit due to the extremely unsafe conditions for the dogs. I have only reviewed the one service I used as a consumer without information due to my employment. Yes they fed him incorrectly and I have that in writing. During my short employment, multiple dogs were brought to the emergency vet due to injuries while under our care. Many employees refused to be consumers of the services due to the known unsafe environment. If you're not willing to use your own services, you have a problem.

The owner has been active in establishing the connection between my dog and me. Through his exceptional methods, he has made us understand the doggie world. He is extremely expert at his work... thank you!

Came in for an interview aftering driving all the way from Palmer and the owner wasn't ever there to interview me. I asked when she would be coming back and the employee at the front desk didn't have a clue. They asked if I had the wrong date or was someone else that rescheduled instead. I came to the interview that was SCHEDULED and agreed upon. I just find it unprofessional and lack of communication upon the owner.

Can't say enough good things about this place. My dog loves going there. The staff have training experience and are willing to help work on things while they are there. She gets so excited. if you are a nervous dog owner, you can watch them throughout the day. The app is great and makes scheduling a breeze.

Awesome experience in regards to grooming

Just had the 1st session of my German Shepherd puppy in Hair of the Dog LLC. Assumed the process we as a dog owner were doing wrong and after join in Hair of the Dog LLC the results r quite great after the session. Strongly recommend it if you're looking for the best dog trainer.

My family took a mini vacay out of town, and for the 1st time in 3 years had to completely separate from my chiwhennie, Kash. Hair of the dog made this boarding experience super easy, almost too easy. Lol. Registration and sign up was easy, drop off was easy, and it was nice to be able to see my “little” Kash running around safely with his dog friends on camera. Pick-up was a little difficult, as Kash literally did not want to come home, even after grooming and nail cutting (which he normally hates, but didn’t mind this time). I will definitely be bringing him back, because I can tell he definitely enjoyed himself. After pick-up we have been having the best snuggles as we are both tired and miss our vacay so much already. lol. Thanks Hair of the dog!!

Excellent work, and willingness to always follow up which makes this a brilliant service, dogs can always return to old patterns so having the ability to follow up makes it great.

I have become a frequent customer since around February and I can’t find anything negative to say about them. My dog always looks great after grooming. They always take the time to listen to my neurotic instructions, and do so with a smile. And you can’t beat the price either. As long as this place is open I will be a customer!
