College Village Animal Clinic Anchorage, Alaska

We have taken three dogs over 40 years to College Village. From office staff to Dr. John, everyone is nice and provides excellent care. We highly recommend.

I’ve been taking my Pug Jasmine, aka Jazzy, to College Village since she was 8 weeks old. She just turned 12 years old this past September. In the past 12 years, I’d say we made a trip to the vet 2-3 times a year. There has not been 1 time where I walked away not satisfied with the level of care Jasmine received. No matter which doctor was seeing her, I always walked away with confidence that Jasmine was being treated by a very knowledgeable, caring, supportive, and trustworthy staff. Best decision I made was choosing College Village Animal Clinic. I highly recommend them. You and your pet will be happy that you did!

I've been here 2x now, first for my 2 parakeets & then for my pitbull & pug to have their exams... Dr. Basler is amazing!!! He is very helpful & explains things for me...the front counter staff is just as great...in fact everyone that I've spoken to on the phone or interacted with in person has been just super fantastic!!! I recommend College Village to any one who is looking for a great place to bring your babies to...very reasonable prices as well great people...

Excellent staff from front counter to doctor. Took a while to get an appointment for a meet & greet routine exam, but after Tank's visit I am happy to say, it was worth the wait. I would recommend CVAC to any and all!!

I had issues with a Guinea pig and couldn't find an appointment anywhere. They called me back and saw my munchie the same day. They were so professional and compassionate they made me feel at ease. Thank you college village staff.

My husband and I just recently moved to Anchorage with our large rescue dog. He's pretty anxious usually and we were nervous about taking him to the vet. We had Dr. Capitan and I cannot say enough great things about her and how Gus's visit went! My husband went in with Gus, as their COVID precautions are in place (which is awesome!), and we could not be happier with how his visit went. Dr. Capitan was understanding of Gus, reassured us that he was just being a normal dog at the vet, and was willing to discuss medications with us. She had us stop two medicines for him that are unneeded up here (tick/heartworm), which will save us loads of money! She also was really helpful in working on his anxiety, and she clearly knows a lot about dog behavior - most of what she said echoed our trainer almost word for word. Highly highly recommend - we are so relieved to have found a good vet on our first try!

My pets have been patients at College Village Animal Clinic for many years. They have consistently received excellent care. The compassion and skill shown by the veterinary professionals at CVAC are simply wonderful.

The doctors and staff at College Village were great in taking care of my dog who developed an abscess due to a cracked tooth. Even though their schedule was full they worked him in and took care of the problem. Even with Covid protocols they were kind, compassionate, and professional.

Staff is very kind and considerate as my dog goes through the final stages of her life. They are amazed at her stamina despite her obvious challenges and give me hope.

Dr. Nicholson saved the life of my blue and gold macaw when no other clinic from south Anchorage to Palmer, would make the half hour of time it would take to give her an injection of vitamin K1 as an antidote to d-con mouse poison. College Village Animal clinic is the best. The very best.

We love, love, love this clinic. We've referred multiple friends who also love the clinic. With four dogs and one cat who are all so important to us, there is no where I'd rather take them. Cost is reasonable and they are mindful and communicative about price. We sure appreciate everyone here. Thank you for the great care!

Very friendly, caring, and helpful. They really cared about the well being of my kitty. She had them all loving her. When they were listening for her heartbeat, they laughed because she was purring too. Their prices are great, and the care is even greater. First and only vet here in Alaska. Been with them for 8 years. From the smallest health checks to surgery. Accommodating, responsive and they do everything they can to see us even if they are booked. Dr. Capitain is the best with my timid girl. She is a dog whisperer. From other reviews it sounds like I got lucky with her. The other 2 Dr's (him and her) are not as aware, and are not as genuine.

I have been taking both of my dogs here for years. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Dr. Velsko “spayed” my dog and left an entire ovary, half a uterus, and surgical twine inside her to rot. My dog was on constant antibiotics for 2 years because she was so sick, until we had corrective surgery and discovered how Dr. Velsko butchered our dog, she had to have a second corrective surgery as well. It was traumatic for all of us, and the neither the clinic nor Dr. Velsko every apologized. She deserves her license to be taken away. She’s a menace. I wonder how many animals she’s killed and if she even has the sense to know she doesn’t know what she’s doing .

even though they were fully booked for the day, After hearing the symptoms, they had me bring my pet in and said they would fine time to look at him. The called me with what they had found and confirmed with me before doing of the more expensive testing. They explained in clear understandable terms what they had found, What tests they needed to do and why. Their kindness and understanding manner went a long way to easing my concerns during a trying period.

We have been taking our girls here since first brought them home .I Would not take them anywhere else . I never like the price but the service and care for our dogs are top notch !

Dr Basler helped see my adopted rescue cat through serious health issues. It has taken three years, but she is now healthy, happy, and loving life.
