Brought in a very sick 4 lb dog at 4 pm. Was told that the Dr. left early to “go run some errands” and he would not be back that evening although they do not close until 6 pm. Came back the next day with still very sick dog and was told she could not been seen because they only take appointments. Was told to come back next week? Perhaps a name change is in order as “Veterinary Hospital” seems to evoke the possibility of having a sick patient seen regardless of having an office appointment. Some customer service training would be a bonus for front office.

I bordered my 6 month hound/lab mix with them while I was on my family vacation. I could not recommend them enough! All staff who answered the phone or greeted me at the door was very nice. They allowed me to come and visit several times. They were not shady in the fact they allowed me to go to kennel where he was staying. The facility did not smell and he had plenty of water each time I visited. He also had a new clean blanket each day.

I have my boy Boss boarded there. Only 10 mins away from where I'm staying on vacation. I can take him out whenever I like. The girls there are great with him. When I dropped him off he was nervous wreck. When I went back few days later to take him out he was totally at ease when I took him back there after his walk. Will definitely take him there anytime I'm in area for vacation.

Dr. Brown handled my elderly arthritic dog in a manner which seemed to discount the severity of his condition.

I don’t very often write reviews. But if there’s any business that deserves one, it is this one. Dr. Brown and his entire staff are incredible. Last week, while we were in town staying at the beach, our elderly jack russell began having seizures. I called and we were told they could see us immediately. During our visit, Dr. Brown and everyone there were so kind in a very stressful situation. After we left his office, his staff followed up every hour, checking on our sweet pup. Anytime we had further questions or concerns, Dr. Brown would be available to speak with us. I was blown away that they took so much time out of their day for us, when we weren’t an established patient. When it became clear later in the day that we had to make a difficult decision, Dr. Brown was again available immediately. Our hearts are broken that we lost our buddy of 18 years, but the care and concern this office provided made an extraordinarily difficult day a little easier. If we were ever in the area and needed vet services, this would absolutely be the office we would choose.

We were very pleased with the care shown to our aging wire fox terrier-they treated him like family and we are so grateful.

We called about our 12 year old chihuahua having issues with her back legs while on vacation. They saw us immediately and actually took time to answer questions and really look her over. We had seen another vet before who brushed off her leg issues (she could barely walk or sit). This vet found arthritis in her legs and put her on medicine. She thinks she’s a puppy again. They also called the next day to check on her. Very friendly staff!

Boarded my perfectly healthy (never been sick a day in his life) 2 y/o dog here for a weekend while family was in town. When I arrived Sunday to pick up the dog I asked how he had been and was given a thumbs up and told "he'd been great." …

Rude Dr and nurse!...Zero bedside manner and he was insulted when asked questions....Wanted to sell vaccines and heart worm meds only!...Sad what most health care technicians have become in this country!...

I have recently moved to OBA and my baby did not like the transition. Dr. Brown and his entire staff were the greatest. They treated my baby has if I would have. When the doctor carries a 40 lb. goldendoodle (as I do) though the office...that says a lot! I could not reccomend Gulf Coast Veterinary enough! The most AMAZING, KIND, FRIENDLIEST AND PROFESSIONAL people work here. Highly recommend!

Called to ask a quick question before they closed. Receptionist put me on hold (which was fine, vets offices are busy). Left me on hold until one minute before they closed and hung up on me.

Dr. Brown and his staff care about animals. I was visiting from out of town when my dog hurt her leg. I had never seen Dr. Brown before, but his office staff gave me one of his first available appointments. After treating my dog, Dr. Brown and his staff called to see how she was doing. This is a first class animal hospital whose focus is clearly on the welfare of animals.

Good vet, honest & helpful but they won't help if you don't have the money...later when I needed proof of heartworm med I purchased, they didn't have it. I will have now have to pay foe another blood test.

We were on vacation when our little dog started having issues. Dr. Brown's office was able to fit us in that day. Everyone was very nice and Dr. Brown was wonderful. He was able to help our lil guy out. We can't thank them enough for fitting us in and treating us like we were regular patients.

The whole office is kind and compassionate. I just moved here a few months ago and was referred to Dr Brown. He has taken care of both of my dogs and I just love him. The girls in the office called me for several days after my little one was hurt. Very professional.

We had a wonderful experience at this Veterinary hospital while on vacation in Alabama. Dr Brown cared so well for our small and very sick kitten, and the staff was incredibly caring and friendly. Thanks so much!
