I LOVE Liberty! I switched from another vet mostly because I was unsatisfied with that person and also Liberty is much closer. The doctors and staff are wonderful. My dog is an old lady and my baby! Liberty treats her as anyone would treat their own dog. My only criticism would be the floor material in the lobby. My dog falls and slips and it’d be better to get something with a slightly rougher surface. She is an older pup and when she’s anxious she pulls on her leash, falling down on the slick floor. Y’all are great though, so please consider it something I will work with her on, as well :).

Dr. Sheila LaRussa is the most compassionate and knowledgeable Vet I have ever met. My sweet pup was bit by a snake at 6pm and she swiftly did lab work and diagnosed it as venemous and sent me to a 24 hour hospital for overnight treatment. She suggested to bring him back to Liberty the next day to be monitored by her while I was at work. Throughout the day I got updates and she did not seem bothered when I called to check on him often. Her sincere care for my dog made me feel so at ease during his recovery. She is the absolute best and we are now forever patients of hers! She saved my fur baby!!

Staff is friendly and compassionate to the animals. The price to board per day is extremely high. There are several add-ons such as required flea tablet and flu shot. Bath is not complimentary even if your pet stays a week. In fact, the bath is an extra charge.

Amazing, wonderful, caring staff across the board. Dr. Williams was great 2 years ago with my husbands dog who had lymphoma. Dr. Martin was incredibly supportive in the recent months after discovering our other dog would have lymphoma. The entire staff was friendly and top notch. We will continue to drive from the other side of Hoover to use Liberty!

I had a mixed experience with this vet. They seemed to be excellent with my mothers dog. Its curbside service because of CV19 right now and while we were outside we saw several dogs being walked on the grassy SHADED area which I thought was nice since it's so hot. However, I called around pricing a rabies shot and nails clipping for my mothers dog, and for noth together it was less than $50 which she was happy with. I didn't have records or papers for the dog, and at first they said they wouldn't be able to do it without them. I told the young lady I was just helping my mother with some tasks while she was immobile right now. The lady that answered the phone said she spoke with the doctor and that he said he did feel comfortable going ahead and servicing the dog so she put us downfor the following day. We arrive the next morning, give them the name, and tell them we're here for the rabies shot and nails trimming and hand over the dog. No problems. It takes approximately an hour, and they bring him back out looking great and happy. But they give me a bill for $350!! I asked why it was so high and she said that since he didn't have records they went ahead and did a full examination and all shots. I feel like that at some point in the conversation they should have let me know that's what was going to happen. My mother is on a budget and certainly wasn't expecting that. As many times as the rabies shot and trimming was mentioned, when I asked for the price, when they were deciding if they could see him or not, all times they could have let me know they would have to do a complete workup. They were very nice though, they canceled 2 of the tests that were waiting for results which took about $100 off the bill. And even then they said we could pay what I expected to pay that day, and pay the balance later. After writing this I changed my rating from a 3 to a 4. They were very customer friendly, open on Saturdays, and good with the animals. Maybe just be more clear about what to expect as far as the bill.

Take my pup here and will forever. Amazing vets and technicians. Have to mention the front office ladies, Jamie, Chantelle and Becca. They are so kind and really set the tone for the whole clinic. And my sweet girl loves it there!

Charged me over triple Of what other vet offices charge for a spay/neuter. After I priced around I realized I got ripped off. Not to mention they were rude in the front office. People in surgery were Nice and did a good job, but unless you’re rich and like being treated like garbage I would find somewhere else to go!

Have taken my dogs here for over 15 years. They provide excellent service and know your pets on a first name basis. They are willing to go the extra mile for your pet, and to ensure you understand everything that you need. Highly recommend.

Yesterday, a few neighbors and I were able to crate a dog that has been roaming our neighborhood. We wanted to take her to the vet because had a few large ticks on her and we wanted to see if she was microchipped. So I came here as it was one of the closest to our neighborhood. Upon arriving, they came out and scanned her to see if she had a microchip, which she did. Hooray! However, at that time it was about 615, they close at 7 and we had yet to contact the owner. I asked if the dog could board at the vet after which I was told no, she couldn’t, as I am not a Mountain Brook resident and this dog was not found in Mtn Brook. AND, since they now knew that I wasn’t the owner from the microchip, I couldn’t put her under my name and pay for her to stay the night. I was absolutely dumbfounded and could not believe this vet would allow a stray dog in need to stay at their facility. Even worse, they never even took her out of the car and looked her over, and recommended I turn her over to animal control! Shame on you, VCA Liberty Animal Hospital. I know I’ll never be back.

I made an appt to have some health testing done on my dog. I asked for PennHip, OFA elbows, patellas, heart and thyroid. Dr. Martin personally called me and went through the process. He also told me they would have me in and out in 1 hour (which I didn't believe). I'm happy to report, they did have us in and out in 1 hour, had all the necessary paperwork printed out, emailed my x- rays to me and handled sending all the test to OFA and PennHip!! This was my first time using this office, but definitely won't be my last .

Dr. Libby Todd is very good. Staff helpful. Update Liberty Animal Hospital is now VCA . One change I notice is when you walk in the front door. Veterinary products were mostly in the front area. Half of the products were removed from the front and left mostly animal food.

best vet i’ve ever been too! The vets and the nurses here are incredibly nice. You can really tell that they care about your pets. Dr. Woodall is very sweet, and gets so excited when I bring my cats in! I would 100% recommend this vet office to anybody who is looking for a vet that isn’t overly expensive, knows what they’re doing, and treats you and your pets like family.

Earlier this morning, I brought my dog in for a routine nail trim, as I have done many times before. It is usually a 5-10 minute job. After 30 minutes I was starting to get concerned. He finally came out (after 40 minutes in there) limping. Not himself. He is still limping several hours later. I’ll never know what you all did to him but you hurt him. He has had this done many times and loves all people. He did not deserve whatever treatment he got. Never going back. If I need him to get checked out somewhere else, you will be paying the bill, that’s for damn sure.

I am new to town and needed to get my 19 year old cat (Louie) examined and vaccinated. I was also looking for the best place to board him when I'm out of town. I had visited other vetenary clinics in the area and been very disappointed - primarily with their cat boarding facilities. Dogs and cats in ajoining areas. Constant braking from the dogs with the boarded cats quivering in the corners of their small cages. Definately traumatized! Not for Louie. The cat boarding facility at Liberty reminded me of the "Kiddy Condos" that Louie had enjoyed in Atlanta. Perfect for us! The attention from the staff and the doctor was also exceptional. Liberty Animal Hospital is now and will continue to be our place to go for Louie's vetenary support. Bob Davis

I had been taking my dog here for a few years before she got cancer and passed away recently. The staff was always super kind and helpful through a hard time. Whenever I needed a prescription refilled, had a question, and etc they were always there. Whenever the time comes for me to get another puppy, I'll definitely be taking it here.
