I cannot recommend this vet highly enough. They are all amazing from the moment you walk in the door. They are very transparent about costs and the vet even called me himself to go over every test he wanted to run on my cat and how much it would be. My cats have seen both Dr. Douglas and Dr. Vargas. I don't have a preference- they are equally wonderful.

Do not take your animal here. I asked to not be charged for services I could not afford and I was charged anyway. I walked in the door with my sick cat and just asked for her to be looked at. She wasn’t in there more than an hour and then I’m hit with a $300 bill. What kind of business does this to people!? These people manipulate you into doing tests that are unnecessary and then ask you to pay hundreds of dollars after the first thing I said was that I do not need a big bill I just want to make sure my cat is okay. Bad business bad business bad business and rude staff.

Dr. Douglas and Dr. Kidd have taken care of our animals for years and their level of care and compassion has never waned! Love them and so thankful for their service!

My dogs are my family, and I entrust all of them to the care of Dr. Bob. Best veterinarian and veterinary services ANYWHERE!!! Top notch staff to boot. There may be others as good, but there are none better.

Dr. Kidd is the absolute best vet I have ever encountered. In the 20 years and 5 states I have lived in, I haven't found a vet that cares as much about the animals well being as Dr. Kidd does. I happened upon this practice because they participate in a low cost neuter program. I rescued a frenchie who was a stud dog in a mill, I suspected he might have high vet bills and was hoping to save money on the neuter. I fully expected to then take Diesel to my regular vet. Once I took Diesel for his initial visit to have a health check for the neuter, I changed my other frenchie to double oak. DOMAC is absolutely amazing.

Without a doubt, the best experience I've had at a vet. I just moved here from out of state and my dog was attacked by another dog and developed a very large abscess. I called Double Oak Mountain Vet and they were able to get my fur baby in right away. Dr. Kidd spent over an hour with my K-9 and I. He got to know me and my dog and was able to relieve most of the infection. He set us up with an appropriate amount of medicine and treatment for at home along with very detailed instructions and his home/cell number in the event that something developed along with strict instructions to call him over the weekend and let him know how my baby was doing. His staff was outstanding as well. They were very attentive to us and understood the stressful nature of having to find a new vet in a new town under the less than ideal circumstances. I have been blabbing all over town about this place.

Dr. Douglas is amazing! Called them when rescued my puppy from horrible conditions. They did not have an opening but said to bring him in and they worked him in immediately. I would recommend this Vet to anyone! Reasonably priced and great service!!

Dr Douglas is the best! I have been going here for almost 15 years. I have moved over an hour away- and I refuse to go anywhere else. I will drive for my pets to get the best care in Birmingham - and that's what Dr. Douglas and his staff do - give the absolute best care you can get hands down.

I love this place. Been taking my pets here for years. Only problems I have is Dr. Kidd and some of the staff up front. Now my recent visit wasn't a happy one. Not only did they mix up the files about my youngest cat with another's, but I also believe Kidd did something to my youngest. She use to be sweet and a playful cat, but now she's stand of ish, she hisses at anyone who picks her up now, and is always hiding. She was fine the morning I took her in, but once we got home, it was like she was a totally different cat.
